Firstly, aplogies to all those who have continued to express an interest in attending but have not seen or heard much progress on the subject. I'm honestly still not completely sure who does and doesn't want to come so I'm starting an all new thread (things get quite confusing when you try to organize tourneys in older threads).

Please post whether you can or cannot come, I'll add you to a nice, new attendance list in the first post so everyone can see what's happening. I am assuming that we have 8 or more attendess but if not I'll deal with that in a day or so.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's all the current tourney info, originally created by theflightyellz (thanks!):

Cold Combat
Regents Park, London
Meeting Spot: The Boathouse Cafe
12:00pm - 3:30pm

Regents Park has been the location for the last few WBO tournaments, and we've found it to be a good location, yet we felt a change was in order. The previous location was difficult for a lot of people to find, and was poorly located which made access to food and toilet facilities difficult. The new location will be The Boathouse Cafe.

The attached map should help you to find the location:
http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/regents_park/

The Boathouse Cafe is marked as number 5, and is heavily sign posted throughout the park. It is also marked as number 5 on all maps within the park.

We'll me meeting outside the Boathouse Cafe at 12:00, and will move to an area of nearby grass at 1:00 to start the tournament. The tournament will most probably go on until around 3:30, yet it could go on for less, or possibly longer.

We will be around for a period of time after the tournament, but probably not for a lot longer since the park will be pretty much pitch black by 4:30/5:00.

We'd recommend traveling to the event from Baker Street station, as it's closest to the event.
  • The tournament style will be block round robin, since this worked well at the last event.

  • The main tournament will be MFB only, but free battles will allow plastic and HMS as usual.
Items we'd recommend for you to bring would include a hooded coat or jacket in case of rain, possibly an umbrella, and layers such as jumpers and scarves (as the weather will be taking a colder turn by the time of the tournament).

We'd also recommend that if you do intend to take part in the tournament, then bring your own beys.

This may sound like an obvious suggestion, but in the past people have come without, expecting to borrow other peoples.
This would not be a problem, but more than half the blades that have been lent out to people have either come back damaged from improper use, or not come back at all (as those who visited expo will know).
Obviously this has made people a lot more reluctant to lend out their own beys.

The entry fee will be the same as usual, free with a blader passport (£6 to buy), or £3 otherwise, and as usual there is no age restriction.

We hope you'll be interested in this tournament, and enjoy it as you have done with previous tournaments.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's pretty much all that needs to be said on the matter, if you have any queries, suggestions, or want travel advice, etc, feel free to PM me or post here. I'd say you could ask theflightyellz too but he's gonna be more busy lately so it's probably best not to disturb him at the moment.......he does know what he's doing though and would be able to answer questions if it was super urgent.

Really, really, really urge people to bring lots of layers, I've been in central London a lot lately and it is bloody freezing and will only continue to get colder, especially in the evenings.

Regarding lending out beyblades, I personally don't mind people borrowing mine but, for the aforementioned reasons, other people might not be so free with theirs so try to bring your own if you can.

Monday is going to be painfully cold, so I would SERIOUSLY recommend rapping yourself up as much as you physically can. Long sleeved shirts, Jumpers, coats, gloves, and hats are all in your best interest.
Regents Park is an open area, meaning there's little in the way of wind coverage, and the wind will feel colder than the actual weather itself.
Anything with a hood would be a good idea, a hooded coat ideally.
for some reason i have an urge to go to this wearing a t-shirt and short-shortsPinching_eyes_2

hopefully it will be worth turning up forTongue_out

Are you mad? Also, i can say that at this rate it will be snowing on Monday or it would at least be on the floor so taking Flight and Rocky's advice would be a very smart thing to do.
if i can get my friend to go with me then yeah i'll be there, parents dont want me going by myselfCrying but im about 99% coming to this
Damn it's snowing like hell!
and yeah I'm still on the list, monday's a much better day anyway because my grandparents leave this saturday
So panickaty lol is that how you spell it anyways it's only a joke what i'm saying i find it quite funny what you stated then bey tempestas btw guys definate dat of when i'm moving december 29th 2009.
yh im aroun70% sure tht me and my mate will come
sorry still logged in on LeeDraciels computer ignore this, sorry linh lol
I don't think there is any point in starting at buying and selling thread for this tourney as its only small but does any body have a string launcher they could sell me, also a rock leone if they have one lying around lol pm me
I have rock leone now thanks to <3, still need a string laincher if anybody has one. Plus my other friend can't make so take him off the list.
tell khel too update the upcoming events?
Lee: Okay sure.

Bladez: If it bothered you you could have just PMed him yourself? I'll PM him in a sec seeing as I have no idea how to do it myself.

@Everyone: Really, really hope the weather holds out as there's been so many issues with this already. I think it'll be alright but obviously, if it snows megahard and the transport links are cut off, then the majority of people won't be able to make it into London. In any case, if that does happen, I'll post here on the Monday morning so assume it's still on till then. Smile A little snow shouldn't be too bad anyways and hell, we might have run out of snow by then.
actually I have no idea as well. I was playing around with it and didn't see it. Will try some more lol
And I totally forgot to PM you. *fails* Lucky you saw this.

Also, what do people think of the name Cold Combat?
cold combat.. cold combat..

err its not bad, but winter wipeout sounds much better Smile
Aww, I liked Cold Combat. :X

Other names Ive had suggested are Frozen Fight, Blizzard Battle, Battle of the Blizzard and Winter Warfare.

Don't actually know if there will be a blizzard though. XD
Reading that reminded me of the Hasbro stadium Blizzard Bowl.
brisk bout or cold clash, or freezing fray or shivery scuffle what do you think?
winter warfare's the best on your list

frozen explosion?
i know its not an alliteration but it rhymes
oh how about the blazing battle as a opposite lol oh edited
