(Mar. 18, 2012  9:35 PM)Kaji Motomiya Wrote: I spent last night looking up cards and making a Kagero deck using the Dragonic Overlord Trial Deck as a stepping stone. From that deck, 27 cards were taken out and traded in for better cards. This is the Grade list that makes cards from 0 to 3: 16/17/9/8 (from the best of my memory).

Blazing Flare Dragon, a Grade 3 Kagero from the 2nd Booster, is probably the most expensive card in the deck, ranging at $24 on eBay.

No starter? Or you're using a trigger as a starter?

Also, dont mix Aleph build with BFD in. Superior riding is nice and all, but too much of it will lead to not knowing what to use... More choices tends to lead to mis playing your your cards...

Also, may I know what you took out? The 27 cards which you "switch". Kagero TD is already quite complete as it is... I can understand 10 cards, but 27 is a bit too much.
First, thanks for confirming my belief. I felt that adding Aleph really was a bad idea. Now I'll have to figure what I should replace Aleph with...and since I don't need Embodiment of Victory, Aleph anymore, I can remove Embodiment of Spear, Tahr, Embodiment of Spear, Bahr, and Dragon something, Aleph (lol so much for committing it to memory). I just need to figure out what to replace the -2 Grade 3s and the four (Critical) Tahrs with...maybe Demonic Dragon Mage, Rakshasa...

Secondly, in the list, I have a Starter. A Grade 0 non-Trigger called Lizard Soldier, Conroe. I thought it'd be better than Lizard Runner, Undeux, because of its added effect.

The 27 cards I took out were from the Kagero Trial Deck, since it was a stepping stone. They include x4 Demonic Dragon Mage, Rakshasa, x3 Lizard Soldier, Ganlu, x2 Dragon Dancer, Monica, Lizard Runner, Undeux, x2 Embodiment of Armor, Bahr, x2 Demonic Dragon Madonna, Joka, x1 Wyvern Strike, Tejas, x4 Berserk Dragon, x4 Dragon Knight, Nehalim, x4 Demonic Dragon Berserker, Yaksha, and Dragon Monk, Goku.

Okay, so about 28...I was considering removing Standing Triggers completely, but after watching episode 5 (Kamui's debut eps), I learned an importance for Standing Trigger (though it's mostly chance.
Hmm, may I know whats your intended Deck list?

Cos if you are going towards BFD build you should ought to keep cards which retire like Berserk Dragon. Also consider Joka since it gains +3k from retirement. The effect is stack-able meaning, if 2 retirement done in main phase, +6k.
This is the first incarnation of the BFD Kagero Deck (Click to View)
Don't mind the numbers in (parentheses). Those are reminders of how much they cost for a total on eBay. Some are in x4 bundles like Servant Reath.
Mind putting up on full decklist? ^^;; Its abit confusing for me since I'm seeing incomplete numbers.

I'm referring to what you want to put/or already put in in full (50 cards)

Edit:
Ok, nvm I figured out what you listed out.

A few comments.
Your deck seems imbalance .__.
Trigger wise, they're fine. Standard triggers. But if you can change all to Gatling claw, it would be better against Barcgal build RPs

G1
Too much Aemo. Its good for filtering, but Conroe is there to search for it. If possible, drop it to 2.
I know Barri is hard to get, but always run 4. In an event you have no choice but to ride it, at least you have another 3.
Drop Jaran. I'll explain why in G2 section.
Kinala is important. Run 3.
Bahr/Iron Tail (will be explained in G3)
Reath (See G2)

G2
Consider droping the Sutherland. Not since you dont have any Berserk Dragon to gain any +3k from. There maybe Kinala's but you would either want to use as boost or guard and not retirement all the time. If you compare a Nehalem which has 10k, it needs effect for 1K more Nehalem.
Also, I understand there is Reath.

Tejas, only 8K. What can it hit unless you boost? There is Jaran but it specifically needs Jaran. If not booster Tejas its just another 6K. Same can be said for Reath.

For G2 you either run
Sutherland + Berserk + Blazing Core or you dont run Sutherland at all. To get that extra +3k benefit every turn is not easy and its not consistent enough.

Tejas is useful to only as hitting the back row and you can only hit the same column. Good for killing Boosters but if your opponent is an 11K G3 unit, it doesnt really need boost to hit a VG.

G3
Dragonic Overlord... 11K. No matter what Kagero deck you play, playing 4 of this is always a good idea. Its good as a backup plan incase you could not ride to your blazing Flare. Even as RG its imba.

Decide which G3, Alpeh or BFD and decide your G2 accordingly. Running 2 to 3 is enough (for G3) since you will be superior riding.

In a superior riding deck, all components required for superior riding is best to run a x4 with exception of G3. Dont mix. It may seem attractive but experience tells me it doesnt =(.

In terms of overall build technically BFD is more superior if you run a PURE retirement build.
The build lacks raw power. Sutherland and Tejas require specific cards to reach more than 16k. Hitting at least 16k is important as the higher VG would be 11. He would have to drop at least a 10K guard per hit.

Overall impression.
I see you were trying to run a hybrid retirement and CB recovery build. Unfortunately running cards like Tejas and Sutherland hand in hand is what could cost you. Killing them off would be easier than 9K as it needs to 10k guard for a lot of things.

My brother is a full fledge Kagero user and me being an RP user always gets thrashed by his retirement tactics. I could share with you a few things but I would prefer to do it through PM.
hey, kaji, acording to my vanguard quickplay guide and rule book, you need 16 triggers, in your deck i only see 15, thus you need to add a trigger to make it a viable deck.
^Oop. I must've counted wrong. I must've thought that my Triggers in the Trial Deck were only at 15.

If anyone here has Beybladed for Deikailo's tournaments at Kings Games, Brooklyn, here's a place to play! Kings Games
If I may intrude: Most decks that can run them only really need two null guards. Any more than that is just extra security, so you should be fine with just two (no need to break your wallet!). You could keep either Tejas+Jarran or Sutherland+Reath, but not both, as you can instead use those extra slots for Berserk Dragons and Nehalems, as mentioned by Pcyborg earlier. Also, you could conceivably run 6 Criticals if you still have 2 Rakshasa around, and 3 each of Ganlu and Gatling Claw Dragon (plus four Genjo for Heals), but that's mostly personal preference, so it's up to you.
I'd run 3 if I had any, because people run 2/4 so why not be in the middle and avoid fuss?
My meta game here requires us to run at least 3 nulls minimum. Any less is suicidal in a sense.

If I drew out a nulli during my initial draw, and I had to ride it, at least I have the assurance that there is at least 3/2 more which can and will be used for its intended use.

Given a scenario I have an option to ride an 8k Vanilla or null, I will STILL ride the nullifier. This is because of how the current G3 meta are. The 8K boost with the extra 2K will determine on whether the opponent guards more or less. Especially when facing against the likes of MLB/PBO/DOTE.

Lets not forget that eventually as more boosters are release, less and less people will fall back and buy old booster. This may lead to a sudden supply of the much needed negates from top clans (currently Kagero and RP). Getting them 4 early while the game is still fresh is a much worthy investment. Price will eventually spike up.

I'm playing both Japanese and English decks since there are tournies for both. Late game attack formations are more important than end game guarding cos most of the time it boils to which hand gets burn down first.
I was so bored today, I did research for the next three packs (Demonic Invasion, the Shadow Paladin pack, and the Majesty Lord Blaster pack) and am now in the process of making two more Kagero decks:

An Amber Dragon deck and a Dragonic Overlord deck.

Amber Dragon actually gets me super excited, tbh. I wish Cardfight was sold in stores like Target...
Have these stores been importing the Asian English release or did Bushiroad launch the game in North America with no fanfare?
um, i think both. the store i go to imports as a selected dealer, but other card games stores now sell them. as busiroad isn't as famous in the western world as kanomi or wizards of the coast, i think it will take a bit before department stores sell them.
I saw some sneaks on the upcoming BT06 cards... They were game breaking. Extremely game breaking.

I was contemplating on whether to switch over to the newer clans, (Gold Paladin/Narukami) but after seeing those effects, I'm definitely gonna pick em up.

Likewise for Granblue. Bushiroad did a good job in reviving the cards. I heard that they're gonna release English promopacks. Contents are currently unknown but there would be 3 cards.
Have they said anything or confirmed if the Oracle Think Tank and Nova Grappler Trial Decks, along with BT06, is coming out in English in April or May?

I heard they're releasing the Golden Paladin and Narukami Trial Decks in English already before TD03 and TD04.
Aprill for all three. set 3 english (called set 4 becuase of set 6 being called 3) is for may. anyone going to watch the last anime episode on friday/saturday? and i think you might be right about td05 and td06 before td03 and td04, but not sure.
so i am thinking of getting either blaster blade or dragonic overlord trial decks this week, and i am wondering which one would be a better choice

personally i like the dragonic overlord deck a bit more (dragons!dragons!dragons!dragons!)

Honestly, while I'd say it's personal preference, you should do a bit of research first on the Royal Paladin and Kagero clans. Both clans have completely different playing styles, so think a bit of which suits you first.

I'd recommend getting both to try it out, but do an extensive research on your clan preference, as well as future releases not yet in america. then aim to build a deck for that preferred clan.

I didnt see any OTT or NG cards in the sneaks... Just lots and lots of GB cards.

Some of the cards are rather game breaking, especially from Narukami. There is a card which once limit break is activated, CB3 and its attack hits everything in the front row. Yes, everything. You cant even freaking intercept cos its hitting your RG.

I have no idea how guarding goes about... Im hoping its a mistranslation.

he means the english decks, though nova grappler does get support in BT06. after reading nearly all the GB cards (finnishing off reading them now) and now im deffernatly going to get a GB deck and work on it. it's got a Garmall evolution! my current trump is fang of light.
Ah. Well, I can check with my local store and see when it is I suppose.
I'm looking to start playing this TCG as Yu-Gi-Oh has become Waaaaay too expensive. Can someone lead me into the correct direction of what to buy as a starter?
Honestly, it depends. Actually, CFV is a lot more expensive if you go buy individual cards, and packs usually only contains 5 cards a pack compared to a standard 9.

But on the topic of what you should get, I'd say to research first. Trial Decks 5 and 6 (3 and 4 are being skipped for some reason) are coming out later this month, introducing an upgrade from the current Trial Decks, so you'll have to decide from which clan you want to follow once these new ones come out. Check out the Cardfight Vanguard wiki to research the personal quirks of each Clan (not race) to decide one which deck to dedicate yourself on.

For me, I'm trying to run a Kagero deck.
The only thing that I can say about comparing this to Yu-Gi-Oh!, is that this seems a lot fairer.
This TCG is pretty interesting to me, and I'm thinking of getting a Trial Deck or two.
Or maybe the Flash Fight Decks, I'm not really sure lol
