Foris trudged down the mountainside, frowning.
"I still think this is a bad idea." He muttered to himself. He looked up. Two people, about his age, were at the bottom of the mountain. When he reached the bottom, he held out his hand. The two people shook it.
"Hi! I'm Felix!" One of them said cheerfully.
"I'm Taylor." The other one said.
"Foris." Foris said, turning around. "Follow me." He started walking up the mountain, occasionally checking back to make sure the other two were keeping up. Once they reached the top, Felix and Taylor were panting. "In here." Foris walked into a cave, and turned around. "Well here you are. Better get comfortable, because this is where you'll be staying." Felix and Taylor looked around, slightly surprised. "Wait here." Foris walked off.
"Not the friendliest of guys, is he?" Foris heard Taylor say.
"He seems nice." Felix said. Foris rolled his eyes. He wasn't here to be friendly. He finally reached the deepest part of the cave.
"Master, your guests are here."
"I'd hardly call them guests, they will, after all, be training here." An old man said. His hair was gray, and he had a sort of majestic aura emanating out of him.
"I know." Foris grumbled.
"Lighten up. They're good kids."
"I don't just 'lighten up' whenever some new people come in thinking they're all that."
"They didn't act that way, did they?"
"Well they've heard of the training regime, so they got to think nothing less if they even consider coming here."
"Well then, that goes for you too, I assume."
"I didn't have a choice." Foris said, darkness creeping into his voice. "And besides, they won't have the same mindset after even one day of training."
"We'll see. Anyway, enough talk. You set up their hammocks, I'll greet them." Foris nodded, then took out his beyblade.
"Let it Rip!" He shouted, launching his beyblade at the ground. It dug into the ground, jumped, then made another hole. He called it back, went to the other side of the cave, and repeated the procedure. He then took four metal poles, and thrust them into the holes. Making sure they were stuck in well, he took two blankets and tied them to the poles. He stood back, then walked back to where his master was.
"And here he is now. I take it you've set up the hammocks?" Foris nodded. "Good then. I will give you time to settle in, then we will do a bit of training before dinner. Felix and Taylor nodded, and disappeared into the back of the cave. "Please try to be friendly, Foris."
"No. I'm here to train, not to get all chummy with everyone who comes in here." The old man laughed.
"You never change. I still remember the glare you gave me when you first arrived. You were quite the serious six year old." Foris rolled his eyes. "Now come on. We will begin training." Foris' frown ceased, replaced by a neutral face, the closest he would get to a smile. "Ok, Felix and Taylor, for our training exercise, I will pit each of you against Foris. Foris scoffed. He had trained under the harshest conditions and rules for 8 years of his life. This would be an easy win. "So, who wants to go first?" Felix smiled, and stepped up.
"I'll go. But where's the stadium?"
"This way." The master led them to a room brightened by torches. In the middle of the room was a big hole in the ground, serving as a perfect stadium. Foris went to the other side, and took his launcher out. Felix did the same.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot, attack."
"Go now! Lynx!" The two clashed, but Kiyot overpowered Lynx with ease.
"Coyote versus cat. This will be an interesting battle." The old man said. I highly doubt that. Foris thought.
"Kiyot! Mode change!" The Flash metal wheel changed from stamina to attack mode, and Lynx was barraged with attacks. "Finish it!" Kiyot charged, and sent Lynx flying out of the stadium. Felix gaped. Foris called Kiyot back.
"I'll go now." Taylor said.
"Ok 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Beafowl! Attack him before he can change modes!" Beafowl charged, and it's E230 track made contact. "Now! Smash it down!" Beafowl crashed down onto Kiyot. "Yes!"
"Do you really think that was enough? Kiyot!" Kiyot charged, sending Beafowl reeling backwards. Foris would give Taylor no time to recover. "Mode change!" Kiyot changed modes, and knocked Beafowl into the air, and out of the stadium. Foris called Kiyot back, then began to walk away. "What's for dinner? I'm hungry." He said, as he disappeared around the corner.

After eating dinner, Felix, Taylor, and the master went to the back room to sleep. Foris went to the mouth of the cave, and but up stone planks, blocking the entrance and hiding the cave from view. Now, he could do some actual training. He went to the room with the stadium, and closed his eyes. He launched, and heard the breaking of stone. He opened his eyes, seeing all the stone pillars destroyed. He sighed, then went to his hammock. His training was becoming to easy. What he needed was a better opponent. He frowned, and closed his eyes. Soon, he drifted off to sleep.
"Enough!" Foris heard a voice. "Stop it!" Foris opened his eyes. Everything was hazy. He saw someone on the ground, badly hurt. He saw someone else, standing before them, laughing. Foris rubbed his eyes. It was him!
"You are to weak. It's your fault for challenging me." Foris heard himself say. Suddenly, he became surrounded by shadow, and he saw him take his launcher and aim it at the person on the ground. "Its over."
"No!!!" Foris woke up, sweating. It was another one of those dreams. Everyone else was still asleep, so Foris started breakfast. After eating, he removed one of the stone planks, and started to run laps around the top of the mountain. After running for half an hour or so, he went back to the cave. Everyone was up and eating.
"Hello Foris." The master said. Foris nodded. "Will you be joining us for breakfast?"
"Already ate." Foris walked over to his hammock and lay down. He took Kiyot out of his pocket and looked at it. He remembered when he first held it. He was only 6 years old.
"Really? For me?" He had said, as his father placed it into his hand.
"Yes. Take good care of it, ok?" Foris had nodded. Then, all of a sudden, the door of his house was blown of its hinges. Two men stood in the doorway, both very muscular.
"Is there a...Clark Initen here?" One of them had said in a deep voice.
"Why?" Foris' dad had said.
"Thats him. Your coming with us."
"Why?" Foris had seen a serious look appear on his dads face.
"You have been chosen to be arrested."
"Chosen!?" The seriousness turned to rage.
"Yes. We need more miners to work for Ertun Inc. There's no pay, but we all need to make a sacrifice sometimes, don't we?" Foris had realized what was going on. Without thinking, he launched the beyblade at the men. It struck them, and they cried out in pain.
Foris snapped back into reality.
"I hurt someone that day. I hurt someone." He said quietly to himself. He clenched his fists in regret. "And now...I feel that pain every day. Because nothing could keep those men away." He got up and walked outside. Gathering all his anger, he took his beyblade and launched it at some rocks. "This pain will leave. I will make it leave."

Finally, the master called them all together.
"Now, for today's training session, we will focus on launching. So, Taylor, take this rock. Act like its a ripcord and launch." Taylor took the rock, and tried launching.
"Its...impossible!" She said, trying to hold her arm steady.
"Just keep at it, you will be able to do it if you don't give up. Now Felix, you launch your beyblade while standing on one foot. Do this 100 times. Foris, you can keep your usual routine." Foris nodded, and walked out of the cave. He continued to walk for a little while, until he reached his training spot. In front of him was a huge rock, about 6 feet tall and 2 feet thick. There were many small dents in it.
"Go Kiyot!" Foris shouted. Kiyot hit the rock and bounced off. Foris picked it up, and launched again. And again and again and again. After about twenty more minutes, he sat down to take a rest. Slowly, his eyelids began to droop, in no time at all, he was asleep.
"Excuse me?" Foris heard a voice say. He frowned, now wanting to open his eyes. "Foris?" Foris opened his eyes, annoyed.
"What?" He said groggily, stretching. "Oh. Its you." He said, as he saw Taylor standing before him. He stood up. "Is there something I can do for you?" He asked, almost sarcastically.
"The master told me I was done with my training, and he told me to come tell you something. It was weird...something like 'the sought have been found'? It was pretty obvious he didn't want anyone but you to know what he was saying." Foris became alert. He began to walk briskly up the mountain, the words ringing in his head. The sought have been found. He began to pick up the pace, and he heard Taylor trying to keep up. Soon, he was sprinting. When he reached the cave, he was out of breath. The master came up to him, frowning.
"Master..." Foris panted.
"Yes. They have been found."
"Where? I'm going."
"No. You must wait." Foris felt anger burning up inside of him.
"I. Am. Not. Waiting." He said, gritting his teeth.
"You must. Or you will never succeed. You must wait until the others are ready."
"Others!? This isn't their fight! This isn't their problem!"
"It does not matter who's fight this is."
"It does." Foris said darkly.
"Please. You know you will stand a better chance if the others come with. If you go, and you fail, they will disappear again. They are going no where. They believe they are hidden. Wait." Foris calmed down.
"Yes...master." He struggled to keep a neutral face as he went to his hammock. He heard Taylor enter the cave. He closed his eyes, and listened.
"Master, whats wrong?" He heard her say.
"I don't think I should tell you."
"But you said we would help. How can we help without knowing what we're facing, what we're doing?" Foris heard Felix chime in.
"I can't tell you without having Foris' permission."
"He'll never give you permission. We just want to help him." Foris sneered. Why should they help him. They didn't even know him, or what was going on. They were foolish. And yet, a small voice in Foris' head was telling him that he would do better with them at his side, and that if they were to help him, they had the right to know. He heard footsteps approaching him. Before his master could say anything, Foris answered.
"Fine."
"Are you sure?"
"No, but tell them anyway." He heard the master walk away. He decided he didn't care about the conversation taking place and took out Kiyot, examining it. "I still can do it on my own." He muttered to no one in particular. He stared into space, thinking of the task that lie ahead. Then, he got up and walked back outside. The sun was setting, and Foris almost smiled. This was his favorite time of day. He sat down and watched the sun set. He heard footsteps that walked to the mouth of the cave, then hesitated. "Yah yah, come on." He said. Felix and Taylor came out of the cave, both of them with sad expressions on their faces. Foris glared at them, then sighed. "Well you may as well sit down if your gonna just be standing there." They sat down. Felix opened his mouth, then hesitated. "Oh spill it." Foris muttered.
"Well...I'm just...so sorry." Felix said.
"What are you saying sorry for, you didn't do anything." Foris grumbled.
"We know, but its just so horrible." Taylor said quietly. "And we're behind you 100 percent."
"Well I don't need your guys' help. But since your obviously so intent on helping anyway, you guys can tag along. I'm leaving in two days, so you guys better be ready by then."
"We will." Felix smiled.
"Whatever. Just remember, I don't need you, or anyone else." Foris got up and walked back into the cave. Taylor and Felix followed soon after. As much as he hated to admit it, Foris was reassured by the fact that he would have people to back him up. Though he wouldn't fail anyway. Or else everything was over.

The next two days were non stop training. Foris would train on his own, while the master gave Felix and Taylor different tasks. Finally, at the end of the second day, Felix and Taylor approached Foris.
"Could you battle us? Please?" Felix asked. Foris rolled his eyes, and pulled out Kiyot. Felix stepped up. "I won't lose easily this time, I won't lose at all!" Felix attached Lynx to his launcher.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot." Kiyot attacked, knocking Lynx back. "Attack again." Kiyot barraged Lynx with attacks.
"Good, keep it up Lynx." Foris wanted to laugh. Felix really thought he didn't realize that his attacks weren't doing much. Lynx was obviously a defense type. Foris knew before the battle started that he wouldn't do much damage in the first stage of the battle. But the second stage was approaching.
"Now Kiyot! Mode change!" Kiyot changed modes, and its attacks became noticeably stronger. Kiyot tipped, and began attacking Lynx on an angle, from underneath.
"Whats going on!?"
"Kiyot's spirit is a coyote. The common attack of a coyote is a throat hold, which is what is going on here. I have you trapped in a way where escape is near impossible, and damaging. Do you honestly think you can win without knowing your beybade and everything associated with it? Not against me. Kiyot!" Kiyot tipped up, sending Lynx up into the air.
"This isn't over yet!" Felix shouted. Lynx fell towards the stadium. "Yes! It'll land in the stadium!" Foris just turned and started to walk away. Lynx landed in the stadium, but it stopped spinning. Felix clenched his fists, and picked up Lynx.
"Wait! I still have to battle you!" Taylor said. Foris turned around.
"Fine, if you really must."
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot! Mode change!" It was clear Foris wasn't in the mood to battle. Kiyot attacked Beafowl.
"You can't put Beafowl in a throat hold, its too tall!" Taylor said.
"I don't need that to beat you. Kiyot! Blinding Slash!" A bright light appeared, and Kiyot rose out of the beyblade. Its claws were glowing, and it slashed Beafowl right out of the stadium. "There. All done, now I'm leaving." Foris said, beginning to walk away.
"Well we're coming with." Felix and Taylor said, following him.
"Wait!" The master shouted, holding something in his hands. "Foris, this is for you." He said, handing Foris a grip. Foris nodded, attaching it to his launcher. "And these are for you, Felix and Taylor." He gave Felix a Rubber Ball tip, and Taylor a string launcher.
"Thank you!" They said at the same time, then they took off, catching up with Foris.
"So Foris, you know where you're going, right?" Felix asked.
"If I didn't, I wouldn't keep walking." Foris said, picking up the pace.
"Ok..." Felix shrugged.
"There," Foris said, as a huge building loomed over them. "Thats it."

"Really?" Felix asked, looking at the broken, beaten up building.
"No." Foris said sarcastically, and started walking. When they reached the door, Foris lightly grasped the doorknob, and turned. The door opened. He raised an eyebrow, but continued walking. Soon, they got to a staircase. Voices were coming from downstairs.
"Stay here." Foris muttered. He slowly walked down the stairs, and ran and hid in the closet. Felix and Taylor watched as a beyblade creeped out of the closet. They saw Kiyot pick up speed, and move towards the table where all the people were sitting. It charged at the leg of the table, snapping it. There was a crash, a flash of light, and many confused voices. Foris walked out of the closet and motioned for them to come down. When they got down, they were standing in chaos. About six dazed people lay in chairs with broken legs. The table had fallen, and there was food and plates everywhere. Foris looked around, and ran out another doorway. Felix and Taylor followed him. They ran down a long hallway, then they reached an elevator. Foris pushed a button, and the elevator came up. The three of them got in, and Foris pushed the button leading to the lowest level. The elevator rattled as it went down, and Foris took a deep breath. The door opened to reveal many surprised people.
"Who are you!?" One of them shouted. Foris didn't answer, but pulled out Kiyot. A bunch of the people pulled out beyblades too.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!" Felix and Taylor launched their beyblades. Foris frowned and attacked them.
"What're you doing!?" They shouted, as their beys landed at their feet.
"This is my fight. You fight when I tell you to." Foris muttered. "Kiyot! Blinding Claw!" The attack hit, and revealed Kiyot spinning around all its fallen opponents. "Lets go." Foris took off. By the time Felix and Taylor caught up to him, he was climbing up a ventilation shaft. "Hurry up." They heard him whisper, just as they heard footsteps approaching. They quickly scrambled up the shaft and started after Foris. After crawling for a long time, they reached a dead end. Foris was peeking out of the shaft, not moving. Below the shaft was a room. Except that the room was a huge mine. Many people were working, while a few people overlooked. There were torches everywhere. Foris clenched his fists. He smashed the shaft open and jumped down. None of the workers looked up, but the people who had been overlooking the work did. They ran towards Foris, ready to grab him. Foris took out Kiyot, and launched. Dirt spewed everywhere, and Foris took off. He quickly glanced back to make sure Felix and Taylor were keeping up. The mine seemed to stretch forever. Finally, he reached what looked like the end. Then all of a sudden, a beyblade whizzed past his face. He turned, and saw a huge man glaring at him. Felix and Taylor had caught up now, but the man blocked their path.
"So, you're the little pest who's been causing trouble." The man said, his low voice booming. Foris sneered and pulled out Kiyot. The man called back his beyblade, but did nothing. "Not much of a talker? Can you at least explain why you're here?"
"My dad. I've come for my dad."
"Oh how noble. Well thats to bad. He works for us. And theres nothing you can do." Foris' eyes erupted with anger.
"I beg to differ!" He shouted, launching Kiyot.
"Go!" The two clashed, but Kiyot was knocked back.
"What is that beyblade?" Foris wondered.
"Go now! Titanium Warrior!" The beyblade smashed into Kiyot, and a crack echoed throughout the cavern.
"How are you doing that?" Foris asked.
"This beyblade is made out of Titanium, which will easily beat your puny little dog."
"Oh really? Kiyot, attack mode!" Kiyot began attacking, and was making some progress.
"Warrior!" Warrior tipped, sending Kiyot towards the ceiling.
"Blinding Slash!" Foris shouted, as Kiyot fell. The attack struck, and blinding light encased the beyblades. When it faded, they were clashing ferociously, neither giving an inch.
"Hm. You're not bad. But you're not good either, Warrior!" Kiyot began to get pushed back, with little bits of the metal wheel flying off everywhere. "Its over. You're done for. Finish it!"
"I'm not done! Its not over! Kiyot!" The clash began to emit pulses of energy, making it hard for either blader to stand. "I...won't give up! All my training...will not go to waste! Kiyot! Nova Claw!" Kiyot began to gain ground on Warrior, driving it back into a wall. Then, a huge ball of energy began to form between the two beyblades. It began to crackle and spark. "This is my new special move!" Foris shouted, as the sphere exploded. The wall crumbled, and dust went everywhere. When it cleared, Kiyot was still spinning, but a chunk of its metal wheel was gone. Warrior lay motionless, covered in dust. Foris picked up Kiyot.
"Just because you won, doesn't mean we'll just stop!"
"Oh I know, but I won't rest until you do." Foris said as he went through the hole in the wall, with Felix and Taylor following. When they got back outside, Foris looked at Kiyot. "Thank you Kiyot." He said, pocketing it.
When they got back to the cave, Foris inspected Kiyot. Flash was badly damaged, damaged beyond repair actually. The rest of the parts seemed in decent shape. He unscrewed the beyblade and took off Flash. He pocketed the rest of the parts and lay down. Footsteps approached him.
"Master?"
"Yes Foris. I have something for you. Your...your mother gave it to me. A long time ago." Foris sat up. The master held out a shiny wheel. "Kreis."
"Kreis?" Foris mumbled, picking it up. He took out the rest of his parts. "Kreis Kiyot...thank you." The master nodded and walked away. Foris jumped up and went to the stadium. "Go! Kiyot!" He shouted, pulling the ripcord. Instead of circling the stadium, Kiyot took a shorter path and made small circles towards the middle of the stadium. However, Foris wasn't used to controlling a heavier beyblade. It soon spun out of control and was flung out of the stadium, landing at Foris' feet. He frowned and picked it up. He walked out of the cave and down the mountain. As he walked, he replayed his last battle in his mind. His thoughts wandered to his parents, then his father's captors. Were they gone? Or had they stayed? No they had left. Foris told himself. But he had achieved a victory against them and that made a difference. His thoughts were interrupted as he reached his destination. A small village nestled in the mountains. It pained Foris to come down here, to come back home. As he walked the streets, he saw many children running and playing. He saw modest butcheries and blacksmiths, among others. He finally reached a small, tidy shop. He held back his emotions and walked inside. The man behind the counter, a middle-aged, mouse of a man, was moving crates around. He looked up at the sound of the bell, and his eyes widened.
"Foris? Foris is that you?" The man ran around the counter and up to Foris.
"Yes. Yes it is, Leopold." Foris said, as memories of his days playing in this shop flooded back to him.
"Maria! Maria its Foris!" The man yelled ecstatically. Soon a tall, lean woman with messy brown hair ran into the room.
"Oh Foris! Its really you! You've come back!" The couple ran around for a long time, making sure Foris was comfortable, giving him food, water, until finally, they sat down to talk with him.
"Tell me, how has your training been?"
"Its gone well I guess." Foris said.
"And your teacher?"
"He's very wise. He's taught me a lot."
"Oh good good. Now...have you found him?" The mood went from joyous and happy to upsetting and sad. Foris shook his head slowly.
"No...no. I did find them though. I messed them up. I messed them up bad." He said. "Thank you for everything. There's something I must do here. I will return when I am done, for a little bit."
"Yes, yes. That would be nice. And, Foris, good luck."
"Thank you." Foris got up and left, the bell ringing as he left, as if calling for him. Asking him to return to the past. Foris wished he could. He walked down the dusty street, taking in all of the places he hadn't seen for nearly a decade. Finally, he found the second place he was looking for. It was just as he had left it. A small alley, with crates and barrels. Everything was the same. Even...even the sound. Metal hitting metal. But...Foris turned the corner, and stopped. There they were. The three of them. Tanner. His neat appearance contrasting the small, poor town from which he came from. His black hair matted down against his head. Vinny, his red hair sticking up in all the wrong places, making him look like he had come out of an explosion. Laurie, her long, blond hair going down to her waist, her confident stature hadn't changed. It was startling how little could change in 8 years. And how much. He wanted to say something, but instead began to walk towards them. They looked up, and Tanner spoke.
"Hey kid, who're you?" Foris was surprised Tanner didn't remember him, though maybe he shouldn't have been. "You from around here?"
"Sort of."
"What kinda answer is that?"
"An answer you should know."
"I'm sorry, but is there something we can do for you?" Laurie asked.
"Just one thing. One small thing." Foris pulled out Kiyot.
"So? You wanna battle? I'll be your opponent then." Vinny got off the crate and pulled out his beyblade, Scythe Serpent BD145RS.
"You think you can beat Vinny? You got another thing coming, chump." Tanner smiled. Foris ignored the comment.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Attack!" Kiyot attacked Serpent, but the attack did nothing. "What?" Foris said, then remembered, he was using a different metal wheel. "Fine then, defensive maneuver!" Kiyot made its circles smaller and smaller, until it went to the middle of the stadium.
"Nothing? Fine then, Serpent!" Serpent attacked, but a grinding sound was heard, and the attack failed. "But how?" Foris was just as surprised, but then he saw it. Kreis could spin freely. Or semi-freely at least. This would allow it to absorb attacks. But Foris wasn't used to sitting back and defending. There had to be something.
"Of course. Mode Change!" Foris ordered. Kiyot changed modes, and was now in attack mode. "Now take this!" Kiyot attacked, and Serpent flew out of the stadium. "Good job Kiyot." Foris called Kiyot back.
"Kiyot?" Vinny said, then whispered, repeating it over and over. Then, tears welled up in his eyes. "Foris! Foris its you!" Realization struck the faces of Tanner and Laurie, and they too began to cry. They all came over and embraced Foris.
"Foris! We didn't even recognize you! Were where you all this time?" Laurie cried.
"I left...after my father was taken. I left to train, to become better than I ever should have become. I had to. To save him." Once everyone calmed down, Tanner spoke.
"I knew I recognized that attitude. And those moves. Though they're different than before."
"New wheel." Foris said simply, pulling out Kreis Kiyot. They peered at it curiously.
"Kreis huh."
"Yah. Flash broke. In a battle I recently fought."
"Well, I'm glad to see you have another wheel." Vinny said.
"Thanks. Guys, I have one more place I have to go. I'll come back here when I'm done, ok?" They nodded, and waved as he walked away. "I'm going home now." Foris said quietly, as he walked to his final destination.
"Master?"
"Yes Foris. I have something for you. Your...your mother gave it to me. A long time ago." Foris sat up. The master held out a shiny wheel. "Kreis."

As Foris walked home, he felt an emotion he hadn't felt in a long time. Happiness. Or close to it at least. He picked up the pace, because the sun was starting to set. Finally, he saw it. The small house, nestled into a corner of the street. The shrubs up front, and the stone walkway leading to the wooden door. He knocked, then opened the door. Everything was the same. The spotless kitchen, the small living room, everything.
"Hi mom!" He said.
"Hello!" He heard a gasp. "Foris!?" Feet shuffled quickly down the stairs. "Foris its you!" His mom ran over to him and hugged him.
"Hi mom."
"Oh, hows your training going?"
"Fine."
"That's good! Have something to eat!" She said leading him to the kitchen and made him a bowl of soup.
"Thanks."
"On no problem!"
"Mom, can I stay here one night?" He asked. She looked at him.
"Yes of course!"
"Ok, thank you. I promised Leopold and Maria I'd stop by. Also I'm going to see Vinny, Laurie, Tanner."
"Ok, take your time!" His mom said, as Foris finished his soup. He nodded, and walked back to Leopold and Maria's shop.
"Hi guys." He said, standing at the door.
"Foris! You're back!" They said, rushing over to him.
"Yah, I'll be staying at my house for a night."
"Oh good! Come by here for breakfast, ok?"
"I will, don't worry. I'm gonna see my friends now."
"Ok, be sure to stop by in the morning!"
"Ok, bye." Foris said, walking out of the shop and to the alley.
"Foris! Hi!" Vinny said, looking up from his battle.
"Hey Foris! Watch this! Go, Blitz Horogium!" Horogium knocked Serpent out of the stadium. "Yah!" Tanner called back his beyblade.
"Hi Foris!" Laurie smiled. He nodded, and sat down on a crate.
"Hi. Hey, I haven't seen your new beyblades yet." Foris said, to Laurie and Tanner.
"Oh! Blitz Horogium R145XF." Tanner said, proudly.
"Phantom Unicorno AD145EWD." Laurie said. Foris nodded, examining them. He then stood up.
"So, who wants to battle?"
"What?" Laurie asked, surprised.
"I will!" Tanner jumped in front. Foris nodded.
"Ok, lets go." They both walked to the stadium.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot!"
"Take the attack!" Tanner smirked. However, Horogium was knocked backwards. "What?"
"Hah, I already have Kiyot in attack mode." Foris said. "Attack!" Kiyot began to bash Horogium around.
"Our turn! Horogium!" Horogium returned the attack. Kiyot flew into the air. "Oh yah!"
"Not so fast. Kiyot! Tornado Claw!" As Kiyot fell, it created a tornado. When it was closing in on Horogium, it shot the tornado, and it hit Horogium out of the stadium.
"...wow. You've gotten good!" Tanner smiled.
"I know." Foris said, calling Kiyot back.
"Haha, you haven't changed." Tanner laughed.
"Well, I'm up." Laurie said, stepping up to the stadium.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Unicorno! Into the middle!" Unicorno moved to the center of the stadium.
"Ok, Kiyot! Attack!" Kiyot began attacking from all sides.
"Take the attacks!" Kiyot continued to attack, but wasn't doing to much damage.
"Fine then. Put all your power into this blow! Kiyot!" The attack nailed Unicorno, sending it into the wall.
"Rebound!" Laurie ordered, smiling.
"Mode change!" Foris said, as Kiyot changed modes. Unicorno hit, but the attack was absorbed. "Its over! Kiyot, Tornado Claw!" The attack hit, and Unicorno was flung out of the stadium.
"Darn it." Laurie mumbled, grabbing Unicorno. "Great battle." She looked up, smiling.
"Yah." Foris nodded. "I need to go now. But I'm staying at home for a night. So see you tomorrow?"

Foris woke up early and went outside to take his daily run. He only really woke up once the bustle of the small town made him realize where he was.
"Well, I'm up." Foris said to himself, as he walked to Leopold and Maria's shop for breakfast. After eating a small bowl of oatmeal, he walked to the alley. No one was there yet, so he set up the crates in a row. He made sure Kiyot was in attack mode and launched it. It easily maneuvered around the crates, now came the harder part. "Attack!" Foris shouted, and Kiyot smashed through all the crates. He called Kiyot back, and went back to the main street, looking for empty crates he could use to replace the broken ones. He finally found some, and brought them back to the alley. He was surprised to find someone there.
"Hey punk, what brings you here?" Foris scoffed.
"I live in this town."
"How come I've never seen you around?"
"I've been training." Now the stranger scoffed.
"Training? How long you've been gone?"
"A long time." The person rolled their eyes.
"What've you been training for?" Foris took out his beyblade.
"Ever seen one of these?" The person smiled, and took out his own beyblade. "So, you've got one too."
"Yah, and its the best."
"Oh sure, and I'm a tyrant, who rules over this town with an iron grip."
"Your tryantship." Foris frowned.
"You have a weird sense of humor."
"You don't have a sense of humor." The boy shot back. Foris took a good look at him. Tall, pretty long red hair. His skin was tanned, as if he had been in the sun for days on end. He wore a normal t-shirt and jeans.
"Don't need one. Are you going to leave?"
"Why would I," He smirked. "When there's a weakling who needs beating."
"Does that mean you want to battle me?"
"It means I want to beat you."
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot, attack!" The attack hit, but didn't do very much damage.
"Show him an actual attack! Wolf!" The Wolf beast appeared and pounced on Kiyot. "Hah, a Wolf versus a Coyote? You are badly outmatched. Now, lets see how you do against a pack, shall we?" Suddenly, multiple Wolves appeared out of the beyblade, and began to attack Kiyot from all angles.
"Mode change!" Kiyot changed modes, and the attacks began to bounce off. "So, a pack of six wolves, huh? Heres a math lesson for you. Six divided by zero. Kiyot! Tornado Claw!" The attack hit all of the beasts, and sent them out of the stadium. "It equals zero." Foris said, as the boy grabbed his beyblade. "Now, whats your name?"
"My name is Konor! A name you will soon learn to fear!"
"Sorry, I don't feel fear, but if you want someone to be scared of you, chase a squirrel."
"Oh hilarious. Anyway, you'll see me again, and next time, I'll win. I guarantee it." He brushed past Foris and disappeared into the busy street. Foris grabbed Kiyot and went back home. As he walked, many of the things he had taken for granted held a child-like intrigue in his eyes. He shook his head, he had no time for that. He had one goal in mind, and he would achieve it no matter what.

On his way home, Foris saw his friends, and he decided that he would just hang out with them for awhile.
"You're up early Foris." Laurie said, walking over to him.
"Early? I've been up for an hour or so." Foris said.
"What? Have you been drinking coffee?" Tanner asked, peering at Foris as if he would be able to find the answer in his hair or something.
"No, ever since I started training, I would always wake up this early and run for awhile." A little girl walked up to them.
"Who's he?" She whispered to Vinny.
"He's one of my friends. He's been gone for a long time." Vinny said, then he addressed Foris. "This is my little sister, Monica. She was born about a month after you left." Foris nodded.
"Hi." He said. Monica glared at him, then smiled.
"So you're one of those people." She said, mischievously.
"Sure. I'm one of 'those people'" Foris said. Vinny laughed.
"You better go home and eat breakfast."
"Ok." She ran off.
"Do you know someone named Konor?" Foris asked.
"Maybe. Yah, I've seen him, never talked to him though. Why?" Tanner asked.
"He battled me. I won of course, but he was weird."
"People might say that about you." Vinny joked. Foris rolled his eyes. By now, they were at the alley. They sat down on the crates, and Laurie lifted her head up and asked Foris,
"Why don't you ever smile?" Foris looked at her.
"There's nothing to smile about."
"Sure there is. You're back home after all."
"So..."
"We know its been tough, but you're well on your way to succeeding." Foris sighed.
"Because when I smile, I show weakness. I show I am capable of happiness, of kindness, of mercy. And when my opponent believes it, I start to believe it. I've worked up this act for 8 years, and I'm not quitting now."
"But we're not opponents, we're your friends." Foris ignored the comment, and stood up. Footsteps were approaching them. It was his master, with Felix and Taylor.
"Foris, I'm sorry, but I want to tell you something. There is a tournament coming up. It is sponsored by none other than Ertun Inc." Foris' eyes widened. He calmed down before speaking.
"Fine. I'll enter. I'll-"
"A team tournament." Foris clenched his fists. "Now I understand if you don't-"
"Oh don't worry. I have a team." Foris said, as his friends stepped up behind him. The master looked at each of them, and finally, he smiled.
"I see. Good luck Foris Initen." He said, walking away.
"Foris, now that we're on your team, whats Ertun Inc?" Vinny asked.
"The company that has my father." Foris said, closing his eyes. "The company I've lived my life, for 8 whole years, with everything I did, every move I made, geared towards their utter destruction."
"You're up early Foris." Laurie said, walking over to him.

Once they had registered, Foris gathered his friends. He explained to them that he needed to win, and he wouldn't allow any slip-ups. He then got them to work, with some of the training exercises he had performed up on the mountain. After two days straight of practice, it was finally time for the tournament. It was an hours walk from the village, so Foris woke everyone up nice and early.
"Hi Foris!" Vinny shouted form his bedroom window. "I'm coming down!" In a minute, Vinny appeared at the door. He was wearing a white t-shirt and navy blue shorts. He had obviously forgotten to brush his hair, as it was a mess.
"Where do you think we are? Hawaii? Its gonna be chilly." Foris said. Vinny shrugged.
"I didn't have time to choose what I wore, since you're in such a hurry." Tanner and Laurie were ready for the cold weather, Tanner was wearing a black jacket and green cargo pants. Laurie was wearing jeans and a red sweatshirt. They both looked at Vinny and laughed. Vinny shrugged, and they started off. It was a silent trip, with the only words spoken by Laurie, commenting on how beautiful the sunrise was, and the murmur of agreement from everyone else. As they walked down the dirt road, with the tall grass waving in the wind, Foris thought about the task at hand. If his team lost, it was over. He might never see his father again. Foris decided he simply wouldn't lose. He reflected on the past month or so. He had successfully caused trouble in one of Ertun Inc.'s facilities, so it was a small victory. But he wasn't done. He would never be done, at least not until his father was back. He looked at Vinny, Laurie, and Tanner. A feeling he hadn't felt in a long time began to well up in him, but he pushed it away. He couldn't feel happiness until his mission was complete, and even then he would try to keep it at bay. He wasn't sure why though. He shook his head and pulled out Kiyot. Then he heard Tanner say something. There was someone else walking down the path, to the tournament no doubt.
"Hey!" Vinny shouted, before Foris could tell him to keep quiet. They turned around. There were two boys and two girls. The two girls looked identical, like twins. They both had light brown hair, with one letting it hang down, and the other had it in a pony tail. They both looked very skinny, almost as if they hadn't eaten in days. The two boys however, couldn't be more different. One was short, and had curly black hair. The other was tall and muscular, with spiky red hair.
"Hi! You guys going to the tournament?" The tall muscular one asked. Vinny nodded.
"Yup! I'm Vinny by the way."
"Hi! I'm Peter." The short kid said, smiling. "This is Lawrence, and these are Cynthia and Marian." They nodded.
"I'm Tanner." Tanner stepped up.
"I'm Laurie." Laurie smiled.
"Foris." Foris muttered, crossing his arms.
"Don't mind him, he's got good reasons." Vinny laughed.
"Mind if we travel with you?" Tanner asked. Foris elbowed him, but Tanner ignored him.
"Sure!" Lawrence said, smiling. "We still have about a 20 minute walk." Everyone began to talk, and Foris slowed his pace. He didn't want to talk to his friends, much less complete strangers, plus they were competition, making them the enemy. He sighed, and pocketed Kiyot, so as to hide it from his "traveling companions."
"What'd you put in your pocket?" Foris looked up. Cynthia and Marian had slowed down and were looking at him inquisitively.
"The Constitution." Foris said dryly.
"Come on, what's so secret? Is it a picture?"
"What? No." Foris was getting fed up. "Its a beyblade, ok?" He said, hoping they would just accept the answer and drop it. But no.
"Can we see?"
"Not really."
"Aw come on, we won't steal it or anything."
"What are you after?" Foris asked.
"We just wanna see."
"Well you won't."
"Ok." Marian changed the subject. "Why are you so serious?"
"Because I want to be."
"Well why don't you lighten up?"
"Because that would show weakness."
"You're weird, but you're kinda funny."
"Hardy har har." Foris said. "And besides, if you knew why I was acting like this, you'd get all sympathetic and I don't want any of that."
"Ok, we won't ask. But can't we be friends?" Cynthia asked.
"I don't need friends."
"Aw come on." Marian laughed as they put their arms around him.
"Knock it off." Foris muttered. Vinny looked back and laughed.
"Good job Foris, you made friends!" They laughed.
"Sorry bout that." Peter said, smiling sheepishly. "They're sometimes to friendly."
"I can see that." Foris muttered, causing more laughter.
"Hey guys! We're here!" Lawrence said, as everyone ran to see.
"Yay! beyblade tournament here we come!" Vinny cheered.

When they got inside, the teams split, with Foris' team being in the A block, and Peter's team in the B block.
"We get to battle first!" Vinny said excitedly. "Wait, what will the order be?"
"I'll go first of course!" Tanner said.
"Fine, I'll go second." Foris said.
"If its ok, I'll go third." Laurie said. Vinny nodded. They entered the stadium and sat down on the bench.
"Ok, here we are at the Ertun Championship, held by Ertun Inc.!" The DJ shouted as Foris clenched his fists. "Now, for the first battle in the A block! Team Explosion vs. Team...theres nothing written here. Whats your team name?" Foris stood up.
"We don't want a team name." He said, and glared at the DJ, who was obviously intimidated.
"O-ok. Team Explosion vs. The team without a name! It looks like the first battle will be Tanner vs. Michael! Ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Destroy him! Horogium!" Horogium began to bash its opponent, sending it backwards.
"Come on Leone!" Leone never stood a chance. In no time, Horogium sent it reeling out of the stadium.
"With that, Tanner wins round 1!" The DJ shouted. "Next up is Foris vs. Manny! Ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Go! Kiyot!" In one hit, Kiyot sent its opponent flying out of the stadium.
"In a flash, team...that doesn't have a name wins!"
Foris shrugged and went back to the bench.
"Good job!" Laurie and Vinny said.
"It was pathetic." Foris muttered.
"Hey, lets see how Peter and them are doing." Vinny suggested. Laurie and Tanner agreed, and Foris followed them. They got there just as the second match was about to begin.
"Its time for the second match! Cynthia vs. Leonard! Ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Go Dragooon!"
Thats a Zero G bey!" Vinny gasped. The crowd was just as surprised. Everyone intently watched the battle at hand. Dragooon attacked its opponent, weakening it.
"Attack Pegasis!" Pegasis counter attacked, but to no avail.
"Finish it now Dragooon!" Dragooon gave Pegasis an uppercut, and it was sent spiraling out of the stadium. Vinny ran down to congratulate them, and everyone else followed.
"Great battle guys!" Tanner said, waving as they approached them. Peter looked up.
"Thanks! Did you guys win?"
"Yah! It was-"
"Pathetic." Foris muttered. Cynthia and Marian popped up behind him.
"Hi!" They said, causing Foris to jump. Everyone laughed.
"Don't do that." Foris said, not liking to be embarrassed.
"Didja see me battle?" Cynthia asked.
"Yes." Foris said.
"Good." Cynthia winked, then laughed.
"She's kidding, right?" Foris asked. Peter nodded, laughing.
"Yah, I'm kidding." Cynthia laughed.
"Well good. Anyway, we have another battle." Foris said walking away. Vinny, Laurie and Tanner shrugged and said goodbye to the others, and followed Foris. Foris rolled his eyes.
"Well, they're a lively bunch." Vinny laughed.
"Yah. Not exactly the word I was gonna use." Foris said.
"Well, whatever we think, they're good. And we may face them in the finals." Laurie said, in a serious tone.

"Wow! The team without a name has destroyed the competition!" The DJ shouted, as Foris returned to his seat. "They have swept their opponents for the second time! Will their winning streak keep growing? We'll find out tomorrow, when we'll have the last three rounds of the tournament!"
"This is wasting my time." Foris grumbled. "And if this wasn't hosted by Ertun, I would be gone by now."
"Hey, don't worry, at least its not difficult." Laurie said, trying to be optimistic.
"Whatever." Foris muttered. "Now where did the DJ say all competitors would be staying?"
"The Evergreen hotel. Its a few blocks that way." Vinny said, pointing. The group turned left, and soon they saw the hotel.
"Wow! This is a hotel fit for a king! I'll fit right in!" Tanner said, staring up at the huge building. They heard a gasp from behind them.
"Wow! This place is awesome!" Peter's voice caused them to turn around.
"Hiya!" Vinny shouted. Foris turned around.
"What's he doing?" Lawrence asked.
"I don't fall for the same trick twice." Foris said. Everyone laughed. Foris rolled his eyes.
"We're over here!" Cynthia and Marian giggled.
"Well we better get to our room anyway." Foris said.
"See ya!" Cynthia and Marian shouted. When they got in to the hotel, Vinny laughed.
"Oh shut it." Foris said.
"Oh shut it." Tanner said, mimicking Foris.
"I hope you find that entertaining." Foris said.
"Don't worry, I do."
"Hey guys, we're on the 14th floor, room 632."
"14th floor? Thats awesome!" Tanner said, charging towards the stairs.
"Wait, Tanner!" Vinny shouted, but Tanner was long gone. "You think he saw the elevator?"
"Oh its fine. He needs to let out some energy." Laurie laughed. The three of them took the elevator to the top, where they waited a few minutes for Tanner.
"Woah!" He panted. "How did...you guys get...here?" He asked, falling to his knees, panting.
"There was an elevator." Foris mumbled.
"Now you tell me!" Tanner got up. "Theres our room!" He said, pointing to their room. They all went over to it and Laurie swiped the key.
"Wow! This is a great room!" Vinny said. There were four seperate small bedrooms, a kitchen, two bathrooms, and a living room, along with a porch.
"I call this room!" Tanner pounced onto the bed in the room nearest to the bathrooms. The other three took the other rooms, and after unpacking, they met in the living room.
"Hey, whats this door?" Laurie asked.
"It leads to the room next to ours. And with our luck..." Foris opened the door. "Yup..."
"Hey! Its Foris!" A high voice said.
"Hey, its Peter and the rest!" Vinny said, standing up.
"Wow, what are the odds we get a room next to you guys?" Marian laughed.
"Yah. What are the odds." Foris said.
"Hey this is cool! We can watch movies, and have pillow fights, and-" Lawrence was interrupted by his stomach grumbling. "Heh. Sorry."
"That's ok, we got room service!" Peter smiled, picking up the phone." Foris went to the couch to sit down. Cynthia and Marian sat down next to him.
"Why do you guys follow me everywhere? You guys are like two little sisters."
"Because you're funny!"
"No I'm not." Vinny walked into the room and sat down on the couch too.
"Face it Foris, you're hysterical." He smiled mischievously.
"I swear, you guys." Foris muttered. Everyone else walked into the room and sat down.
"So, why did you guys enter the tournament?" Tanner asked.
"We want to be the best beybladers ever! It sounds pretty conceited, but we think we're pretty good, and want to test our skills."
"There's nothing wrong with that!" Laurie smiled.
"Why did you guys enter?" Peter asked.
"It was Foris' idea. He made us." Tanner laughed.
"Foris? Really?" Cynthia giggled. "Why'd you wanna enter so bad?" Vinny shot Tanner a look. Tanner bit his lip, realising his mistake.
"Because." Foris said.
"Because why?" Lawrence asked.
"Its kinda personal." Tanner said, trying to make up for his mistake.
"Oh whatever. What's the difference, having four more people feeling all bad for me." Foris grumbled.
"Foris-" Laurie said.
"No. Besides, maybe then these two will stop bothering me." Cynthia and Marian didn't smile, they seemed concerned.
"What happened Foris?"
"See, now they're not even annoying, just all sympathetic. Well here's the deal. When I was 6, these people came to take my father away. Still not exactly sure why, but most likely to work in mines for little to no money. Well they were strong, really strong, and they took him away. But not before Kiyot and me left our mark." Foris looked at his hand, running his finger down his wrist as if it belonged to the men. "It's something I've still never forgiven myself for. Well after that, I went into denial. I guess I still am. I wanted to save my dad, and I knew the only way I could was through beyblade. It sounds cheesy, but I'm not strong or anything, so what other choice did I have? So I left my village to live with this guy in the mountains. He trained me, and it was difficult. But I made it through. Then, a few weeks ago maybe, my master said he'd found the place where he thought my dad was being kept. I rushed off, and infiltrated the base, with the help of two new people my master was training. Well I got to this cave at the bottom of their building, and there were tons of people mining. I fought with the mining inspector, and damaged a lot of the place. I won, but just barely. My dad wasn't there, so I returned back, feeling like I had failed. I decided to return to my village for a little, and was reunited with these guys." Foris motioned to Tanner, Vinny, and Laurie. "Then, my master came and informed me that a tournament was being held by Ertun Inc. The very organization that had taken my dad. There's my life's story, and don't get all mushy about it." Foris looked around. Peter tried to say something, but couldn't. Lawrence whimpered, his lip quivering. Cynthia sniffled, and Marian wiped her eyes.
"I'm...so sorry." Peter said. Lawrence started to sob, as Foris had figured.
"Well, I'm gonna get some fresh air." Foris stood up abruptly. "And no one follow me out." He walked to the porch, and looked out into the orange sky. He actually kind of liked the sunset. He heard the door open. "Why can't anyone just do what I want for once." Foris didn't even turn around. Cynthia and Marian walked up next to him.
"Foris-"
"You're sorry. I don't wanna hear it." He said.
"Well you're going to. We're really sorry. And...and we're going to help."
"Why? Why can't anyone just let me do what I have to, and carry on with their lives?"
"Because, unlike you, we have feelings. We care about other people." Marian said.
"I care. I care about my dad. About finding him."
"What about your friends? The ones who will do anything for you? You don't care about them?"
"I care. But they're foolish."
"They aren't foolish. They care about you. So do we."
"Well I've thrown away feelings because all they'll do is get in the way. And thats all I have to say." Foris started to walk away.
"Well we're going to help you. Peter and Lawrence too."
"Fine, go ahead, but don't expect me to thank you." Cynthia and Marian smiled.
"Ok. Thanks, and we're sorry." Foris sighed.
"Yah yah."

Foris went into his room and locked the door. It was silent outside of his room, but then he finally heard Vinny suggest a movie. Everyone agreed, and he heard the TV. Foris took out Kiyot. It's translucent brown energy ring shined in the dim lamplight. Soon, he began to doze off, placing Kiyot beside him.
Foris was slowly swept into a dream, but not one of his usual nightmares. He was in the past. He saw himself walk out of his home, five years old. He was smiling. Foris felt strange, like watching a fish cook a pancake. He followed his past self into the alley. Tanner, Vinny and Laurie were there. He saw them all pull out their beyblades, talking excitedly. They battled for awhile, but then Foris said he had to go run some errands. He left, and walked towards the market. Suddenly, Foris felt himself plunged into the world. His younger self looked around.
"Hi."
"Hi."
"Who are you?"
"You wouldn't believe me."
"Well if its true I will." His younger version smiled.
"I'm Foris Initen."
"No, I'm Foris Initen." The kid laughed.
"Well I'm you, in eight years."
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"Wow, thats weird. So do you guys have flying cars?"
"No."
"Oh. Why am I so grumpy when I grow up?"
"Because my...or our dad I guess, gets taken away by some bad people."
"Why?"
"Because they are req- well, I guess because they're bad people."
"Thats sad."
"Yah. It is. It happens about a year after right now."
"I'm gonna help." His younger version said. "Then maybe I won't be so grouchy."
"Maybe." Foris watched as the scenery disappeared, then changed into the same place, one year later. Foris saw his younger version, now a year older, up in his room.
"Oh hey, its you again!"
"You don't think this is weird?" Foris grumbled.
"I think its cool!"
"Well, tonights the night."
"I got it all covered." He smiled again. This bugged Foris.
"Well, I'll be waiting outside, in case you need any help." Foris said, though he wasn't sure why he said that. Then, he was teleported outside. He was surprised to see the city surrounded by walls. His younger version came outside.
"I tried to tell you, but you...disappeared. Well there were these kidnappings, and I told everyone about what you said, I didn't say you said it of course. Not sure how but they found out I was telling the truth, and built these walls around the city, with guards and stuff."
"Huh. Well, I'll be going I guess." Foris said. As if triggered by his words, the scenery changed, showing the town again, looking a bit different. Foris saw himself, but his age now.
"Hi again." His past, or present now, version said, smiling.
"You're way different than me."
"Well I'm a lot happier, considering..."
"I know." Foris said.
"Well, I think everything will work out great. I'm sure of it." Foris shrugged.
"We'll see."
"Oh yah, heres my beyblade! Do you have one?"
"Yah." Foris pulled out Kiyot.
"Kreis Kiyot?"
"Yah. Flash Kiyot I see. My Flash was destroyed in a battle. Plus my energy ring is brown."
"Mine got changed from Brown to Clear. It looks cooler. You can have it though."
"Thanks." Foris said, as they swapped energy rings. Then, he was suddenly back in the room.
"That was a weird dream." Foris said to himself. He picked up Kiyot, and his eyes grew wide. His energy ring was clear. "This is crazy." Foris muttered, getting up. It was 6:00, the tournament started at 8:30. He made himself a bowl of cereal and poured himself some orange juice. He ate in silence, staring at Kiyot. He heard one of the doors open, and Tanner walked out, yawning.
"Hey Foris." He said, going into the bathroom and closing the door.
"Hi." Foris muttered, taking a sip of his juice. Vinny woke up next, and Laurie a few minutes after. Foris was done with breakfast by then, so he grabbed his grip and sat on the couch.
"Hey Foris, why's Kiyot's energy ring a different colour?" Laurie asked.
"I...I don't think I'm exactly sure." Foris said.

Foris waited in the lobby for his teammates to come down. When the elevator finally dinged, Foris stood up and everyone came out.
"You guys ready?" Foris asked. They nodded. As they walked to the arena, Foris looked at Kiyot. What had happened? It had only been a dream, for sure. But then...why? Foris decided he would answer those questions another time. For now, he had one goal in mind. Win. They got to the stadium a few minutes before the match was beginning.
"So, who's gonna go first?" Vinny asked.
"I will. I've been doing great!" Tanner smiled.
"Yah yah, you can go." Vinny laughed.
"I'll go second, as usual." Foris muttered.
"Its my turn I think." Vinny said.
"Yup! I'll sit." Laurie said.
"Ok! Its time for the quarter finals of the Ertun Championships!" The DJ shouted over the roar of the crowd. "Let's see who will win! The competition is getting intense, and neither team will give anything less than their all! For the first battle, Tanner will battle Oscar! Both bladers are ready, so lets begin! 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Go now! Horogium!"
"Come on, Bull!" The two beyblades clashed, then Horogium began to circle the stadium, as Bull sat in the middle.
"Test his defenses Horogium! Attack!" Tanner shouted. Horogium charged, and easily sent Bull flying backwards. "Keep it up!"
"Take the attacks Bull!" Bull was getting knocked around, but managed to stay spinning and in the stadium.
"Come on Horogium!"
"Hit me all you want, but I'll keep spinning!"
"Not after this! Now, Hour Bombard!" A large clock appeared from Tanner's beyblade, and its hands turned, catching Bull and knocking it around. Then, the hour hand turned around completely, and caught Bull, whipping it out of the stadium.
"And Tanner wins with his special move!"
"Wow! That was awesome!" Vinny said, standing up to high five Tanner.
"I know. Bet you guys didn't know I had a special move. I was saving it for the later stages of the tournament."
"Well I'm glad you used it. You were running into trouble." Foris said, walking to the stadium.
"The next match, Foris vs. Kenneth! Ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot, attack." Kiyot clashed with its opponent. Both beyblades then recoiled and stood still in the middle of the stadium.
"Attack now, Lyra!"
"Defend!" Kiyot defended the attack. "This is boring. Pounce Kiyot!" The Kiyot beast appeared, but it was a bright white, radiated a blazing aura. It pounced on Lyra, putting it in a throat hold. Lyra slowly stopped spinning. "Come on, this stinks." Foris grumbled, calling Kiyot back and walking away.
"And the nameless team wins, 2 rounds to 0! They move on to the semi-finals!"
"Well, that was easy." Foris said.
"Yup! Maybe I'm as good as you know!" Tanner said.
"Woah there. Don't get ahead of yourself." Foris said, as the others laughed.
"I wonder if Peter and his team won?" Laurie wondered.
"I bet they did." Vinny said.
"Woopdeedoo. It doesn't matter if they win or lose, all that matters is that we win." Foris said, walking away.

After Vinny confirmed Peter's team (who he found was called The Strike) win, they all went to lunch, no matter how much Foris resisted, Tanner was able to drag him to the table where The Striker was sitting.
"So I heard your guys' team name. Its cool!" Laurie said.
"Yours is..."
"Nonexistent?" Vinny said, cutting Lawrence off, and everyone laughed and nodded.
"Hmm, lets see whats on the menu." Tanner scanned the pages.
"What does it matter? By the time we leave, you'll have eaten all of it anyway." Foris grumbled, triggering more laughter. "Sad thing is, you guys think I'm kidding." Foris looked at his menu. After they ate a relatively silent meal, they wished each other luck, and headed back to the stadium.
"Where do you find the money for this?" Vinny asked, looking at Tanner.
"My parents have pretty good jobs." Tanner said.
"The better question is how does he fit it all in?" Laurie said.
"I've eaten two menus worth of food before. I need energy!" Tanner said, thrusting his hand into the air. They all shrugged, and went to the arena.
"Its time for the semifinal match! Who will go for each team?" Vinny stood up.
"Can I go guys?"
"I gotta let the food sit anyway." Tanner said, patting his stomach.
"It looks like the match up for the first round will be Vinny vs. Lance! Bladers ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"C'mon Serpent!" Serpent clashed with its opponent, claiming the middle of the arena. His opponent circled the stadium, sizing Serpent, and Vinny, up. "Not making a move?" Tipping its bottom, Serpent shot at its opponent with surprising speed. It slithered across the stadium, making its move unpredictable. Then, it struck. Immediately something was strange. Its opponent became lodged between Scythe and Serpent's BD145 track. It was swung around and around, then thrown out of the stadium. Everything was silent as the blade struck the ground, then rolled to a halt. Then everyone went wild.
"What a display! In a truly amazing attack, Vinny made quick work of his opponent, and gives his team a 1-0 lead!"
"Wow! That was awesome!" Laurie cheered. "Even Foris was impressed. VInny looked at Foris, who lifted an eyebrow.
"That's a milestone." Vinny smiled. "You going Foris?"
"Eh, why not." Foris groaned and got up, stretching his back. He slowly walked to the stadium, and casually took his beyblade out, put it slowly onto his launcher, and lifted it up and aimed. His opponent was slightly intimidated, but got ready fairly quickly, without fumbling.
"Ok, here we go! 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Go now!" His opponent shouted. Foris dodged. "Again!" Foris dodged yet again. His opponent kept attacking, but Foris refused to counter, simply dodging.
"Whats going on here? Foris is usually impatient to end the match, but he seems to be taking things slower this time."
"i was hoping for a more interesting match, but its clear that's not what you present me with. Kiyot, go!" His opponent, tired from attacking, was wobbling, and couldn't dodge. Kiyot struck it, and sent it spiraling into the stadium wall.
"Thats the Foris we know! He sends his team to the finals in a quick, though slower than usual, win!" Foris kicked the ground.
"This is a joke." He muttered. "Who're we facing in the finals?"
"Lets check." Tanner said, as they walked to the other arena.
"And The Strike wins, 2-1! They will face the unnamed team in the finals!"
"So, we'll face them." Vinny said. They stood around for awhile, and soon The Strike came over to them.
"So, we'll be facing you guys." Peter said, smiling. His eyes betrayed his smile, blazing furiously.
"I suppose." Foris muttered.
"Well, whatever happens, no hard feelings?"
"There will be hard feelings if we lose." Foris frowned.
"He's just kidding." Vinny said.
"I'm not."
"Hey, don't worry, we get it." Lawrence said, smiling. Save Foris, they all wished each other luck and went to their hotel rooms.
"So I heard your guys' team name. Its cool!" Laurie said.
"Yours is..."
"Nonexistent?" Vinny said, cutting Lawrence off, and everyone laughed and nodded.

As his teammates talked outside, Foris sat in his room. He wasn't worried, but he was still hesitant on assuring himself of an easy victory. He watched as the rays of the setting sun flowed through the window, creating a golden colour on the floor. Then, it was interrupted by a shadow. Frowning, Foris tilted his head up to the window. Someone was there, but he couldn't see who, their features blurred by the sun directly behind them. Foris picked up Kiyot and went to the glass door. He opened it, and the figure began climbing down the fire escape ladder. His curiosity peaked, and he rushed out of the hotel room and down the stairs. He was just in time to see someone run off towards a forest. Foris followed, pocketing Kiyot and focusing on his trail. He stopped once he entered the forest. He didn't heard a noise, which led him to believe his target had stopped, as the fall leaves scattered on the ground would have screamed the location of the pursued. He didn't hear panting either, and tried to control his own breathing. Slowly, he inched forward, moving erratically, so as not to create a pattern that could be mistaken for human movement. Then, a gust of wind shook the leaves. Foris saw his chance, he charged forward, and saw a figure standing in the shadows. Foris jumped in front of them before they could move. What he jumped in front of made his mouth drop. His piercing eyes stared back at him, his face trapped in an eternal frown. His nose trying its hardest to breath without the aid of the mouth. Foris stepped back, as if this would confirm his suspicions. Then, the figure in front of him opened his mouth.
"Hello Foris. Do you want to battle?" Foris' voice caused him to recoil backwards one more step, but he recollected himself and returned the glare of his carbon copy.
"Fine. Then you'll talk."
"Only if I lose." The person said. Foris took two long strides towards him, and grabbed his arm.
"No. You will talk."
"You don't believe you can win?" The person mocked.
"There's only one person I can possibly lose to." He said, his eyes scanning the person. "And thats me." They walked over to a clearing in the forest, where a stadium had been prepared, by Foris' opponent no doubt. He pulled Kiyot out of his pocket, and attached it to his launcher. His opponent did the same.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kreis Kiyot!"
"Revolve Hiyane!" The two clashed into each other, sparks flew everywhere, and when neither of the two let up, the sparks started a small ring of fire in the grass around the stadium. Foris stepped back, watching as the flames crackled and burned, but didn't seem to advance further into the forest.
"Go, Hiyane!"
"Kiyot!" The two circled the arena, not making a move. Then, as if a lever was pulled, both bladers reacted.
"Kiyot!"
"Hiyane!" The beasts appeared. Kiyot's brilliant light illuminated the arena, while Hiyane spread shadows into all corners it could. The light and shadows clashed in the middle, creating pulses of energy that made the whole forest shake. Kiyot's beast jumped out of the blinding light, a coyote with shining claws. Hiyane bounded out of the enveloping shadows, a hyena with dark features and angry eyes. They clashed again, and again, neither giving an inch. Both bladers stepped back, trying to endure the intense power that was being shot out of the beyblades. The sun was almost gone, and shadows were appearing everywhere. Foris' opponent smiled. Foris began to become hesitant. He knew that his opponent's beast was at its best in the shadows. Foris decided he wouldn't give him anything to work with.
"Kiyot, special move! Lustrous Ravager!" The light that had subsided from Kiyot's entrance returned, and it danced and enveloped Hiyane. Then, Kiyot attacked, destroying everything in its path. When the light subsided, Hiyane was in the dirt, surrounded by utter desolation. The stadium was no more, and the ground was burnt from the flames and upturned from Kiyot's special move. "Now, explain." Foris said, going over to his opponent. His opponent looked up.
"Well...first off, you might want to know who I am. My name is-"

"Ignos."
"Eh, doesn't ring a bell." Foris shrugged.
"I suppose it was a long time ago. But I'm your brother." Ignos obviously expected a surprised reaction from Foris, but Foris looked around, then said dryly,
"Great, where's Darth Vader." He looked back at Ignos. "As cliche as that is, I believe you. But..." Foris stepped back, frowning. "If thats so, where were you?"
"Take a guess."
"No, Ertun?"
"Yes. They took me away, seeing potential." Foris scoffed.
"For mining?"
"I'm surprised how ignorant you, of all people, are about the subject." Ignos shook his head. "What do you think they were mining!? Minerals? Yes, but for what?" Ignos released his anger. He picked Hiyane and shoved it in Foris' face. "This." He growled. "To power up our beyblades, power them up to the maximum and beyond."
"So then..."
"Kiyot contains the power of the mineral. Our father, when he learned what they had done with me, stole a mineral, inserting it into that beyblade. However, he didn't carry out the proper procedures to activate it, but it appears you did that already. Well when they found out, they came and took him away. The mining work was just an added bonus."
"So they took you away in the first place for your beyblading abilities?" Foris scoffed.
"Yes."
"They stole a child because he could spin a top."
"It appears you don't have much respect for the game."
"I don't have much respect for anything."
"Well I suppose we aren't to different then."
"Well why don't you escape now? You have a pretty good chance it seems." Foris said, looking around.
"Things...have changed. The more I hang around, the better a chance I have of getting our dad back."
"They haven't corrupted you? Well then at least this whole thing isn't cliche."
"Have they? Well we'll find out." Ignos walked away.
"Wait, what do you mean?" Foris asked, but Ignos was gone. Foris shook his head, shrugged, then walked back to the hotel. It was completely dark now, and when Foris got back, everyone was asleep. He went into his room and fell asleep in an instant.
The next day, Foris slept late. When he got up, both teams were in the living room. Foris frowned, and went to the kitchen. He ate quickly, then went outside without saying a word to anyone. He went to the forest, where the damage from his battle with his brother still lay everywhere. He trudged across the upturned earth. He then launched Kiyot casually. Then, a beyblade flew out of nowhere, sending Kiyot back to Foris.
"Ignos? Is that you?" Foris asked, but then he looked at the beyblade. "That's-!"
"Go now! Guardian Dragooon!" The beyblade circled around the rubble, then returned to its owner. "Hey Foris." Foris didn't respond. "Do you want to battle?"
"No, but I suppose you won't leave until I do. Ready?"
"Yah. 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Kiyot, attack."
"No you don't!" Dragooon tilted, and deflected Kiyot's attack. Foris frowned.
"It seems I underestimated you. But only a little bit. Kiyot, mode change!" Kiyot's attacks became stronger, and Dragooon began to be pushed back.
"Our turn!" Cynthia shouted. "Dragooon, uppercut!" Dragooon sent Kiyot into the air. "Take that!"
"You're kidding right? Kiyot, Tornado Claw!" Kiyot fell, and a small Tornado formed. It picked up Dragooon and then Kiyot struck it, slamming it into the ground.
"Hm, ok I guess. But I'm not finished, come on!" Dragooon began to glow and knocked Kiyot off of it. "Special move! Fortress Slice!" Dragooon appeared, holding a huge shield. It lifted it up over its head, and brought it down on Kiyot. But when the dust cleared, a circle of light covered Kiyot, and blocked Dragooon's special move.
"What!?"
"Oh please, you think that will stop me! You're good, but it's time for this to end! Kiyot, Lustrous Ravager!" The whole forest lit up, and when everything dimmed down, Dragooon was lodged in the dirt.
"Wow! That was a great battle!" Cynthia said, picking up Dragooon.
"Whatever."
"Hey, Foris? Can I tell you something?"
"No. I need to train. Alone." Foris called Kiyot back and walked away.
"Eh, doesn't ring a bell." Foris shrugged.

As Foris walked, he frowned. He was almost completely sure that Cynthia hadn't used her full power. And as much as he hated to admit it, she had posed a challenge. What if he wasn't good enough? What if his team wasn't good enough? Hundreds of doubts flooded his mind, but Foris violently pushed them out. He never doubted. About anything. After vigorously training for half an hour or so, Foris headed to the stadium. The final battle would be starting soon. When he got there, his friends ran up to him.
"Foris! Where were you?! We were freaking out!" Tanner shouted.
"Well excuse me." Foris muttered.
"You're here, and thats what matters. So what will the line-up be?"
"I'm going first." Foris said.
"But Foris, if you look at it strategically-"
"I'm NOT!" Foris shouted, taking his team aback. "I...just need to go first."
"I guess that would work. An early win is important." Laurie said.
"Don't assume I'm going to win." Foris grumbled.
"Um...that's what you always do." Tanner said.
"Well not now. Not now..." Foris said, walking in. Laurie, Tanner, and Vinny looked at each other, but followed Foris in.
"Welcome to the finals of the Ertun Championships! The Strike will face off against the mysterious nameless team. Lets see who goes first!" Foris' thoughts were confirmed when Cynthia stepped up first. Foris got up and walked over. Everyone in the stadium, even The Strike, was surprised. Cynthia looked back at her team. They shrugged. "In a surprising change of events, Foris has decided to go first for his team! How will The Strike react?" Marian walked up to Cynthia, handing her something.
"Hey Foris!" Foris turned. Cynthia was glaring at him. "Take a good look at this!" Cynthia held up her beyblade. But...
"A synchrome?"
"You don't sound scared. You should be." Cynthia smiled. Foris shook his head.
"Whatever." He looked up at the DJ.
"I guess its legal, so lets begin! 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!" For once, Foris' cool composure betrayed what he felt on the inside. He had gotten into trouble against Cynthia when she wasn't trying her hardest, without the added weight of the second chrome wheel.
"But then again..." He said to himself. "I wasn't trying my hardest either. Kiyot!" Kiyot charged, but was deflected effortlessly. Foris frowned, then almost smirked. Almost. "Kiyot!" This time Kiyot did damage, and Cynthia's beyblade was sent backwards a little.
"Go now! Killerken Dragooon!" A strange tentacled dragon appeared, and threw Kiyot into the air. Why would she do that? She's...she's expecting me to use my special move. I shouldn't underestimate her. Just defeat her.
"Kiyot!"
"There! Jump high Killerken Dragooon!" Her beyblade jumped into the air.
"Hah. You think you had me figured out? It was all over my face wasn't it? Well it lies. Kiyot!" Kiyot landed quickly, then went to Killerken Dragooon's landing point. "Well here it is! Kiyot, Tornado Claw!" Killerken Dragooon was picked up, and slashed by Kiyot. It landed hard, and began to wobble.
"You're good Foris!" Cynthia said.
"I know." They didn't make a move for a bit, then Foris got fed up. "Kiyot, mode change!" Kiyot changed modes, then began to bash into Killerken Dragooon.
"Fight back! Special move! Wind of the Depths!" Killerken Dragooon shot water out of its tentacles, covering the stadium in about an inch of water. It then began to shoot small gusts of wind forming waves. They hit Kiyot over and over.
"Oh please. You think I'm afraid of ripples in a puddle? Kiyot, Tornado Claw!" The tornado picked up all the water, and launched it at Killerken Dragooon, trailing right behind it, claws at the ready.
"Oh no you don't!" In a sudden burst of power, Killerken Dragooon easily deflected the attack. Foris took a step back. The same happened when Kiyot attacked.
"This will end it! Killerken Dragooon! Judgement Hurricane!"
"Foris! Where were you?! We were freaking out!" Tanner shouted.
"Well excuse me." Foris muttered.

The attack hit. There was no smoke, no dust. The result was easily visible. Kiyot was thrown backwards, nearing the edge of the stadium. It was at the edge, when the blades of its BSF tip came in contact with the wall. It wobbled, then slowly made its way back to the middle. The crowd gasped, and Cynthia gaped.
"Nope. I won't make it that easy. I'm not going to lose." Foris stared into the box where the president of Ertun Inc. was sitting. A blazing white aura ignited around Foris and Kiyot. The Kiyot beast became a beam of light, running across the stadium, hitting Killerken Dragooon from all angles. Cynthia couldn't react to any of the attacks. "This is my true power! Congratulations for making me use it. But it ends now. I won't lose! Kiyot! Lustrous Ravager!" A light began to pulse everywhere in the stadium, where Kiyot ran. It grew larger and larger, brighter and brighter. Then, it exploded. Everyone was either covering their eyes or temporarily blinded by the light. But Foris knew. And Cynthia did too. She smiled, and Foris gave no reaction. Killerken Dragooon was wedged in a crater in the stadium, while Kiyot was wobbling. The DJ, who had just regained his sight, noticed.
"That's it! The first battle ends in a win for Foris!" Foris picked up Kiyot and sighed. He slowly walked over to the bench and sat down heavily.
"Hey, that was a great battle." Laurie said.
"I hate to admit it, but I agree. You've seen their power guys, be careful."
"Ok. Guys, can I go now?" Vinny asked.
"Sure, that's fine with me." Laurie said.
"Yup." Tanner nodded. Vinny took a deep breath, and stood up.
"It looks like Vinny will go next! Who will he face?" Lawrence stood up and walked to the stadium.
"Hey Vinny! I'll be your opponent! And sorry, but you're done for!"
"That's something I have to disagree with. We'll just have to see!"
"Ok, both bladers ready? 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Serpent!"
"Go! Diablo Bull!" The two collided, and Serpent was tossed aside.
"Even the defense type Serpent is helpless against the sheer weight of Bull! How will Vinny react!?" The DJ shouted, as Serpent hit the wall, tipped, and charged again. It tilted, attacked, was knocked back, hit the wall, tipped, and charged.
"Keep it up Serpent!"
"What's he doing?" Tanner inquired. Laurie shrugged, Foris didn't respond, just watched intently. Vinny stopped his attacks for a bit to check on Serpent's current state. It was still spinning fairly quickly, while Bull's spin had suffered a significant loss.
"I see." Foris said.
"What?" Laurie asked.
"Figure it out." Foris muttered. Both Laurie and Tanner watched the battle and tried to see what Vinny was up to.
"Of course!" Tanner said. "Scythes PC frame. Bull has a Rubber Ball tip, so it loses stamina way faster than Serpent with its Rubber Sharp tip. When a beyblade attacks another beyblade, both take damage, everyone knows that. But by minimizing the damage both he and his opponent take, by attacking with his free spinning PC frame, he's widening the gap between their spin velocity."
"That has to be the smartest thing you've ever said." Laurie laughed. "But you're right. I think we really underestimate Vinny."
"You think I'll just sit here and take attacks? Bull!" Bull attacked, and this time Serpent took the brunt of the attack. It flew into the air, and landed hard. Bull attacked again, with the same result. The next attack, Vinny dodged, and it countered, sending Bull into the wall. The two kept exchanging hits, with both growing weaker.
"Now, Bull! Flaming Stampede!" Bull hit the ground, and flames erupted everywhere, encasing Serpent. Bull then charged, hitting Serpent hard, and knocking it out of the stadium.
"That's it for round two! Bull has sent Serpent outta here, and Lawrence wins!" Vinny frowned, and picked Serpent up.
"Hey, that was a great battle!"
"Yah, great job!" Tanner and Laurie said. Vinny shrugged, and sat down.
"Now, who will go the last round?" Tanner and Laurie looked at each other.
"It looks like Peter will go for The Strike in the last round!"
"Well logically, Lawrence has a defense type, Cynthia has a spin stealer. They're very strategic, so Peter will either have an attack type or stamina type, most likely. Tanner, you have an attack type. You'll have an advantage no matter which type it is." Laurie said. "You go."
"Are...you sure?" Tanner asked.
"Definitely."
"Ok...thanks." Tanner smiled, then went to the stadium.
"So, you versus me." Peter said.
"No, you losing to me." Tanner said.
"You're confident. But we'll see how confident you when you lose."
"Guess we'll never find out."
"Ok, the final round starts now! 3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!"
"Nope. I won't make it that easy. I'm not going to lose." Foris stared into the box where the president of Ertun Inc. was sitting. A blazing white aura ignited around Foris and Kiyot.

"Horogium!"
"Jupiter!" The two smashed into each other, and recoiled. The clashing resumed, and hit after hit resulted in a large recoil for both blades. Finally, Peter let up, and began to circle the stadium. Tanner began to follow him.
"Catch up Horogium!" Horogium slowly began to creep up on Jupiter. Just as impact was about to be reached, Jupiter spun out of the way. "What?"
"He has an F230 track!" Vinny said. Tanner turned around and frowned.
"I gotcha. Horogium, make sure he doesn't escape!" Horogium charged, but Jupiter dodged. "Fine then, special move! Hour Bombard!" The attack hit, and Jupiter was sent into the wall. It rebounded, and continued to spin.
"Our turn Jupiter! Flash of Lightning!" Jupiter began to spin around the stadium, picking up speed and leaving sparks in its wake. Soon, Horogium was caught in the middle of a circle of lightning. Then, jolts began to shoot out from the circle, and hit Horogium. Soon, the whole circle began to grow smaller and smaller, getting nearer to Horogium. "This is the end Tanner! This battle is over!" Tanner clenched his fists. The lightning enveloped Horogium, then exploded in one wave of power. Peter smiled as lightning flew into the air, then slowly died away. But when he could see across the stadium, and saw Tanner's grin, he stepped back. Horogium had been unaffected.
"My new special move, I call it Circle of Time. Freezes all time directly around the beyblade. Which means your special move, well, stopped. Now lets finish this battle, ok?"
"Just because you stopped my special move, I'm not giving up!"
"It doesn't matter. Horogium!" In an astonishing burst of speed, Horogium hit Jupiter into the air, and it fell back down, stopping.
"And that's it! Tanner wins, in an amazing turnaround victory! The team without a name wins the tournament!" Laurie, Vinny, and Tanner all ran and high-fived each other. Foris got up right away, and looked at the DJ, waiting for something.
"O-oh! The winning members of the team get a special lunch with the heads of Ertun Inc! The lunch will take place in two days in the Ertun building!" Foris' friends looked at him. He almost smirked. On their way back to the hotel, The Strike caught up with them.
"Hey guys, congratulations!" Lawrence said.
"Thanks! You guys were great!" Vinny said, smiling.
"Foris?" Marian asked.
"What?" Foris muttered.
"We'll help you."
"No, you won't."
"Yes. We will."
"Well you guys aren't invited anyway, so you can't even if I let you."
"We'll get in somehow."
"Good luck with that." Foris said, going into the hotel. He pulled out Kiyot, and began planning for the fall of Ertun.

The next morning, Foris got up early, and went outside to train. He launched Kiyot, putting his full concentration into it's movements. He maneuvered around small stones and leaves.
"Start a storm Kiyot!" Kiyot stopped, and began to spin in place. The leaves and dust and pebbles began to lift off the ground, spinning around Kiyot. Foris stepped back and inspected his work. He nodded, satisfied, and allowed the tornado to die down. Then, he turned around. The Strike and his teammates were standing behind him.
"We thought we'd help you train. And train a bit ourselves." Peter said.
"We have a really cool training game too!" Cynthia said.
"I'm not going to play games."
"Oh just try it Foris." Vinny said, smiling.
"Oh fine, what is it?"
"Well you see the forest over there?" Foris looked at the fairly small forest.
"Yah..."
"Well we'll all start on different parts. Then we'll launch, sneak around, and when you lose, you have to go back out. When only one person is left, everyone else will let them know."
"Rules?"
"Nope."
"Ok then." They all went to different sides of the forest, saying to count to ten once they got there, then go in. Foris launched Kiyot, and slowly made his way into the forest. He stared into space, expanding his view, searching for movement. He saw none. He decided to keep moving. Then, only a few seconds after he started moving, he saw movement. He stopped, crouching behind a bush. He saw Lawrence walking through the grasses, his beyblade right next to him. Kiyot slowly edged out, then Foris stood up, and launched a full on attack. Lawrence jumped back, startled, and tried to launch a counter-attack.
"Bull!"
"Kiyot, Tornado Claw!" Kiyot swept Bull into the air, sending it up, then down into the ground. Lawrence went to pick it up, and when he looked, Foris was gone, as attention would be drawn to the place. Foris ran, controlling his breathing, then almost laughed at the effort he was putting into this. As he ran, he neared the outskirts, and saw Vinny, Lawrence, and Cynthia standing there, meaning they had lost. Foris veered away, not wanting to attract attention. Then, a beyblade flew by his head, and hit Kiyot.
"Go, Horogium!"
"Kiyot, attack!" The two clashed, and Horogium knocked Kiyot back. Kiyot rebounded, and the two exchanged blows. "Tornado Claw!" The move hit, and Horogium stopped spinning. Foris ran off right away. He knew someone else was still there in the forest. He heard someone following him, and ran faster, then turned around a tree and dove behind a bush. He heard his pursuer slow down, then stop. Foris peeked through the branches. The persons back was facing him, but it was a boy. Then Foris realised his pursuers beyblade wasn't out, so he quietly called Kiyot back. Then, they turned around. Ignos' dark eyes stared into Foris'. Foris was shaken for a minute, but stood up.
"What are you doing here?"
"Giving you a warning. I know what you're planning."
"So what?"
"So you don't stand a chance."
"Says who?"
"Me." Foris scoffed.
"Well, I just figured I'd warn you. Good luck anyway." Ignos ran away, leaving Foris to himself for a minute. He then heard more footsteps, and saw it was the others.
"Good job Foris, ready to head back?" Laurie asked.
"I think...I think I'm going to have to train way more." Foris said, walking off.

The next two days passed in no time. Foris would be gone the whole day, training. Finally, the sun rose, and Foris awoke.
"Today. Today is the day where my life's work ends. I will beat Ertun. I will demolish them, destroy them, show no mercy. I will break them and stand over their pieces, victorious." Foris picked up Kiyot and walked outside.
"Foris!" Foris turned.
"Oh."
"You weren't going to leave without us, were you?"
"Well, I'm not now." Foris said to his teammates. "You didn't-"
"Hiya Foris!"
"Oh no..." The Strike walked out of the hotel. Foris groaned and began to walk towards the large Ertun building. They were greeted by a butler, who directed them towards an elevator. He didn't allow The Strike in, however.
"Well, here we go." Tanner said, taking a deep breath.
"Yup." Vinny said. The elevator dinged as they passed each floor. Finally, it opened. There was a large table with food set out across it, and a large chandelier. A window took the place of a wall on the far side of the room, overlooking the city. At the head of the table, sat a middle aged man. He had piercing eyes, and greying black hair. Also at the table was Ignos, and another person, who looked about 15, that Foris had never seen before.
"Welcome everybody. Please, take a seat." Foris sat across from Ignos, and his friends sat next to him. "Now, let me introduce myself. My name is Foris Ertun." Foris cringed. "I'm surprised; we share a name." Mr. Ertun motioned towards Foris.
"Yes."
"Well, let me tell me a bit about myself. A couple of years ago, seven I believe, I set out to find minerals that could be used as an alternative energy source. Many volunteers flocked from miles around to help out." Foris clenched his fists, fiercely holding back the angry words that shot up his throat. "Well, soon I began to run out of money, so I held this tournament as a way to generate funding. Sounds selfish, but I assure you it will allow for a better future. But enough about me. Allow me to introduce Ignos and Klarick, two of my apprentices. They also beyblade. I have found beyblades to be very helpful in my work. Well, I believe that is all. Feel free to begin eating." An eerie silence swept across the room as everyone ate slowly. They ate for about an hour, and then Mr. Ertun stood up. "Well, I believe that is all the time I had. Thank you for coming." Foris stood up. Pulled out his launcher and launched Kiyot. It chipped the chandelier, then began to charge down the table, knocking plates and glasses everywhere. Mr. Ertun watched it all, fairly bewildered.
"What was that!?"
"Just a taste of payback...for taking my father! Kiyot!" Kiyot glowed, and charged for Mr. Ertun. He grinned, and launched a beyblade of his own.
"Go! Void Devastator!" A large beyblade easily blocked Kiyot. "I see...you're one of them. I knew I couldn't get rid of them all. But now...I can."

"Kiyot!" The two beyblades clashed furiously, with sparks flying everywhere.
"Lets help him out guys!" Tanner shouted over the clamor, as he pulled out his beyblade. As he, Vinny, and Laurie launched, their beys were blocked.
"I'm sorry, but you have to deal with me." Klarick said, confidently.
"No problem! Horogium!" Tanner broke off from the group and returned with a bang.
"Guys, follow my lead!" Vinny said, as he broke off from the group and circled around Klarick's beyblade. Laurie and Tanner followed suit. "Ready guys? Now! Combination special move! Triple Menace!" All three beasts erupted from their beyblades and became a swirling whirlwind of energy that enveloped Klarick's beyblade. When the move died down, it was wobbling, but still spinning.
"My turn! Severe Chatos!" A shapless gas rose out of the beyblade, then formed a slightly humanoid shape. It attacked all three beyblades, sending them flying backwards. They recovered, and formed a line. First Serpent, then Unicorno, then Horogium charged at Chatos, hitting it one right after the other. Meanwhile, Foris was encountering issues.
"Go Devastator!" Devastator slammed Kiyot into the wall, but Kiyot recovered.
"Return the hit Kiyot!"
"Counter it!" The two clashed, then began to rise, with the sparks forming a trail underneath the two blades. Suddenly, a void began to creep around the two bladers, and formed a circle.
"What!?" Foris said, surprised.
"I see. Devastator!" Devastator let up the attack, and landed in the void. Kiyot fell and landed as well. Suddenly, as if it were wall paper being ripped off a wall, the surrounding scene, the building, the table, the other people suddenly were torn from view. The blackness that surrounded Foris and Mr. Ertun was interrupted only by blue lights that shone under the beys. When they moved, the lights followed.
"W-what is this place?"
"Perhaps an illusion, but that doesn't matter. Devastator!"
"Kiyot!!!" Annoyance and anger built up in Foris, and he was reaching his boiling point. As they clashed, Kiyot began to overtake Devastator.
"Not bad, but try to survive this! Devastator, Void of the End!" A ring of darkness, somehow darker than the darkness that surrounded, formed around Devastator and began to grow. Foris frowned, trying to think of how to defend.
"Prepare for the worst Kiyot!" Kiyot was dragged into the void, and was brought closer to Devastator with every passing second. Finally, it reached, and was sent hurdling backwards at amazing speeds. It whizzed by Foris' left ear, just barely missing. However, it didn't hit a wall, as there were no walls to hit. It just landed and returned next to Foris, wobbling.
"I'm surprised you survived, but this has to end."
"You're right. It does. Kiyot, Lustrous Ravager!"
"Devastator, Dusk of the Apocalypse!" No words can describe the energy and power of the two moves. The clashing light and darkness would have seemed unbearable to look at, but neither blader even flinched. Then, for the first time in years, Foris smiled. It was a confident smirk, and if someone hadn't known better, it was what ended the battle. That instant, the darkness imploded, sending Devastator hurling towards Mr. Ertun. Moments before collision, it shattered into hundreds of pieces, and landed at its owners feet. It was over. The room reappeared, showing that Laurie, Vinny, and Tanner were still battling Klarick.
"Kiyot, attack!" Kiyot charged at Chatos, sending it into the window, which shattered, and the beyblade fell down, down, down, until it hit the ground with a sharp crack. "Its over." Foris said, as Kiyot destroyed the room in a few hits. It spun in front of Mr. Ertun, who looked as if he had seen someone killed in front of him. "Now, give it all up."
"I...won't give up!"
"Bad move!" Ignos shouted, launching Hiyane. "I will make you pay!" The beyblade went straight for Mr. Ertun. Foris flicked his arm up and Kiyot blocked the attack.
"Foris!"
"Forget him. He's not even worth your time."
"Hey guys, the police are on their way." Tanner said, hanging up on his cell phone.
"Ok. Goodbye sir." Foris mocked, as him, his teammates, and Ignos walked out of the room.
Two years later...
"Foris! Wake up!" Foris groggily rubbed his eyes. His brother Ignos stood at the door of his room, already dressed.
"What?"
"Today's the day of our big battle!" Foris smiled and got up.
"Meet ya outside!" Ignos ran off. Foris quickly got dressed and grabbed his beyblade and launcher. When he got downstairs, Ignos, Tanner, Taylor, Felix, Laurie, and Vinny were waiting outside.
"Ready?" Felix asked.
"Yah!" Foris readied his launcher.
"3, 2, 1, Let it Rip!" They all shouted at the same time. They ran through the streets, clashing and racing, until they had circled back around.
"I win!" Ignos shouted, hitting the mailbox. Felix, Foris, Taylor, Laurie, Tanner, and Vinny finished next in that order. They all fell down, panting and laughing.
"Hey Foris, Ignos!" A deep voice shouted. The two sat up.
"What dad?"
"Start packing! We're going to sign up for a tournament a few miles from here!"
"Wow, you guys are so lucky your dad works for the Beyblade League."
"Yah, we get to sign up early for every tournament. Well, see you guys later." Foris said as he and Ignos ran inside.
"Its amazing," Vinny said, as he watched the two walk off. "How much can change in such a short amount of time."
"Yah. Two years ago, he was the most serious guy I've ever know." Laurie said.
"Well life's not easy. Especially when you're a suffering warrior." Tanner said.
"Lets help him out guys!" Tanner shouted over the clamor, as he pulled out his beyblade. As he, Vinny, and Laurie launched, their beys were blocked.
