Having been into Beyblades since it began and seeing a big spread in the age range of those playing with them this got me thinking:
Do children or adults have a physical strength or speed advantage over the over when launching where one usually wins against the other because of this?
The thinking here is:
- A child generally has a much lighter arm mass so can move quickly
- An adult generally has much stronger arm muscles to overcome this extra mass
- As the rpm increases the energy required increases exponentially (to double the rpm requires quadruple the energy of the initial rpm, sorry if I haven't worded this well!) making rpm gains from strength smaller as the rpm increases. This helps to level the playing field between adults and children.
I'm interested to hear if there are adults that get beaten by kids constantly or if adults usually feel the need to go easy on children, or some that give children a good challenge to improve against.
Discuss!
