Having been into Beyblades since it began and seeing a big spread in the age range of those playing with them this got me thinking:

Do children or adults have a physical strength or speed advantage over the over when launching where one usually wins against the other because of this?

The thinking here is:
- A child generally has a much lighter arm mass so can move quickly
- An adult generally has much stronger arm muscles to overcome this extra mass
- As the rpm increases the energy required increases exponentially (to double the rpm requires quadruple the energy of the initial rpm, sorry if I haven't worded this well!) making rpm gains from strength smaller as the rpm increases. This helps to level the playing field between adults and children.

I'm interested to hear if there are adults that get beaten by kids constantly or if adults usually feel the need to go easy on children, or some that give children a good challenge to improve against.
Discuss!
Age really has nothing to do with Adults being better than kids (if true). Most people don’t use their full power when blading because no one really takes it serious and the only ones who actually try are the kids. Overall it’s really the parts used more than who’s behind the launcher.

Except when you’re in same spin stamina or stamina mirror matches. Then it’s really about those launches.

In those kind of battles there’s a lot that can happen. For example when I was playing Kries vs Twisted my launch kind of failed on twisted and yet twisted won by a stamina finish.

I’m talking about Burst competitive stamina combos. I dunno about MFB

Even in burst this is a much more common occurrence which happens to me all the time. (Also this thread nor your post indicates that it’s limited to burst)l
I would think adults, but it really depends on the person, match up, and parts.

Yes, but I was referring to Burst, and I explained that in my posts.

Which combos were you using?

Mirage Fafnir stock vs Master Diabolos stock.

Yeah, those aren’t exactly… great. With actually good combos at tournaments, in quite a few matches launch power is important. Lost a match because of that actually.
I mean, all launchers have an upper limit to how much power can be squeezed out of them (and increased power tends to come with decreased control), so theoretically any imbalance in launch strength has a maximum cap. Not to mention that String launchers VS Ripcord launchers is a whole other case, with string launchers having stronger, more consistent launches with minimal effort VS Ripcord launchers that can have much more varied launch strengths.
Adults tend to be more strategic than inexperienced children. Children are more passionate so they launch as hard as they can. Teenagers in my opinion is the best mix of passion and strategy. They also have a good amount of strength, but are still young enough to have that passion to be like yelling "go shoot" at the top of their lungs. Adults will think twice about that.
Some very interesting comments above!

I think BladerGem is very close to where my opinion lies, I think the toy as a product is a very good balance of size, weight and inertia where it allows children and adults to compete against each other on the basis it becomes significantly harder for more rpm or combo weight past a certain point balancing itself out to some extent, and with the loss of control that comes with launching as hard as possible. 20 years ago when I was a child compared to now I still feel there is a point where you need a big amount more of energy or speed to launch which a launcher can't provide.

Obviously parts combinations play a huge part, I'm seeing this from a parent buys their child some Beyblades and they both play against each other "out the box" so to say.
I think that [[ N∅B∅DY ]] got it right, in theory teenagers are in the middle of "lauch hard" and "strategic mind"
