So the episode gives us a quick recap, as the tournament is about to commence, the WBBA get a video message from Phi who's pretty much flexing at this point. All he did was show his new bey and announced it. And is it just me or does every pseudo villain in Burst record themselves a video message before a battle? By the way, Phi does in fact use 10 and Friction so haha, I was right.

So the battle begins and Free manages to quickly knock the armour off Phi, Phi tries to use the Armour Press move but it backfires as Free predictably uses Absorb Break to knock Phi out, winning the first point.

Second round and Phi comes up with a really cool Armour kicking technique using his Friction driver, and it hits Fafnir pretty hard, knocking it out. So now it's tied 1 to 1. Almost looks like Phi was playing football/soccer with the armour, which I found hilarious.

Then the third round gets really intense, Free gets super macho wacho serious, more than ever. Fafnir knocks out Phoenix's armour off right away and Phi uses the Armour kicking technique again, only this time Fafnir isn't getting the easy way out, and instead takes several beatings from the Revive Armour until Phoenix starts striking Fafnir itself. Free uses this opportunity to spin steal from Phoenix and power up the Absorb Breaker to charge into it, then Phoenix charges towards Fafnir while also smacking the armour against it to knock it off balance and give the armour some air time. With the devastating power of a heavier armour and a faster Phoenix, it uses the Revive Armour Press move to crush Fafnir and... you guessed it, DESTROY FAFNIR. I mean... WOW. And the destruction is actually pretty brutal too! This isn't Vise Leopard breaking in half, this isn't Achilles splitting to three parts, this isn't even Dead Hades smashing to several pieces... no...

I mean it gets smashed into many many pieces, it's like Dead Hades amount of breakage, but there's also so many tiny pieces there, sheesh... and not all of it is just the level chip either, some of it are the jaws of Fafnir too. Now this moment will make you absolutely LOVE LOVE... LOOOVE hate Phi, because I know Free has a huge fanbase. And I can understand why, and if this was how Free ended up and never battled again, it would suck. But I have no doubt in my mind that Free will return next season with a new Fafnir. I should also note that Free didn't take his breakage quite as well as Lui did, as he is visibly distraught over it, will he pull a Red Eye on us I wonder? This unfortunately means Aiga cannot get revenge on Free, unless a miracle happens.

Valt is enraged and challenges Phi but Phi declines and walks away. Aiga sets off to train.

Absolutely love love love this episode, it was interesting and fun, and did not disappoint. One of my favourite episodes of Burst, ever.

Episode 44 trailer looks pretty uninteresting to be honest, but... hey Xhan returns I guess...

Did someone notice shu running on a treadmill after seeing free lose . I mean the writers unnecessarily did not put this part . It implies shu is getting ready to battle with phi . I expect valt or aiga would defeat phi or he would remain undefeated . If shu loses to phi i would be angry if he loses and if spriggan breaks the same way fafnir broke ......................
Then ......... i am short of words to descibe the feeling .....

I think valt is the only one able to beat phi let's see how it ends. I'm sure that phi character will end with this season it's self I don't think they shift this to new season

If I remember correctly, Diablo nemesis was also god of destruction so...
What if there was a crossover where Phoenix turned out to be the remains of nemesis lol( I’m not really sure what happened to nemesis since I didn’t get that far in the anime)

The way Fafnir broke.. Damn it.. I don't know why the anime hates level chips, because that is the part which is most shattered. I am pretty sure all of us saw this coming, but I didn't expect it to be this brutal.. I imagined Fafnir breaking into 2 halves, but the thing got shattered.. Hats off to your marketing stratergy TT?
But they triggered a HUGE fanbase.
Next episode I am not interested in. But I wonder if this season plot will be carried forward to the next season. Like this season ends with Phi being the viliian and the next season gives us the fight to destroy? Or change him? Cause with only 8 episodes, it might end up being rushed.
But this was a pretty good episode.

This was the best battle since Shu VS Lui in season 1 and everyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Holy **** the emotions.

I mean Free almost having it, only for Fafnir to be diverted by the armour at the very last moment. Still, with Phi basically toying with him the whole episode, this was something else.

Phi already destroyed Laban, Aiga, Heartz and Free, will Phi challenge the other strong bladers to prove that he could destroy any strong bladers's bey as he wish?

Free has already forcing Phi to show all his special moves.
The special move of Dead Armour Attack could only be avoid by knocking the Armour out of the stadium otherwise Phi could just easily control it for double attack.
Or think of a way to push the Dead Armour and use it to attack back Dead Phoenix.
The second tactics are more dramatic but it seems the only way to win Phi.

even though I saw that coming,my heart still hurts,specially because of this particular scene:
Valt got angry and challeged Phi,but Phi just said "you not yet" and the scene cuts to Shu...because it's not a burst season without Shu getting humiliated by someone (I can already hear more fans crying,seriously,Cho-Z is probably the season that most angered fans in the entire franchise)
also,I really like Dead Stinger,we already saw Phi using it in the manga (even though he was using it with rP,not dP),but still,it's a really nice and creative special move

My guess is remaining for this season is that Valkyrie will get broken, Spriggan has a 50/50 percent of getting broken. And I think Achilles will be the one to defeat Dead Phoenix at the end. Then we go into the new system
