Ngl i liked this episode probably the best one in sparking even tho valt lost 3-1 its still really good Animation and storyboarding is beyond S tier I should rate this 10/10 it was really obsessing to see valt lose but hey after some cool down this episode felt really good like no cap after every ep in sparking felt boring After first viewing except ep 25 and this episode feels this good but this episode is kinda ironic they hyped up the legends only to get trashed by the veterans lol Edit the season might be better imo if shu doesn't slap lean

It's not that he lost or how he lost, it's more if WHY he lost. Plot armor, that is. The reason I say that here is because if Shu battles Lean and wins, that's their way of marketing World Spriggan in the anime.

So the only way to beat Lean is to have new release plot armor or be a protagonist. Rip. Not to mention an evolution is probably coming, but whatever.

The battle was still animated nicely, and I like this episode overall. A bit of a bummer Valt lost, but mainly the fact that Lean is brimming with flare, a resonance that only three characters have for obvious reasons, was why he won.

Yes, but circumventing the region lock is just as bad as downloading the episode. Many streaming companies like Netflix and Hulu have said using a VPN is illegal to circumvent region lock. Netflix is no stranger on blocking accounts that they catch using a VPN. It may not be illegal to hide your IP address, but it is illegal to use it to bypass region lock on sites like Netflix, Hulu. Those two sites crack down the most on using VPNs.

This isn't technically correct, it isn't illegal to do this (certainly not in every country at least). Yes, companies do have legal agreements to only distribute within certain countries but using a VPN to access that isn't necessarily illegal. It's slightly infringing at best, haha.

Is it ethically questionable? Yes, totally. But no, as far as legality goes, it's not technically illegal to do, haha.

Lean won;  people are blaming it on plot armour which to be honest really irritates me. The anime has on numerous occasions told us that LEan is an extraordinary talent and that he has worked hard to be where he was( yes it wasnt shown but was rather said through various monologues). It has been again and again shown that lean is very strong and has beaten many legends along the way. This loss should hardly come as a surprise. 

This is a wonderful opportunity to have the legends grow their own power levels;  Having Veterans and Legends is good but not doing anything with them and showing that they are unbeatable is no point. In Sparking it is showing that the legends aim to be the best also and that they also have their goals.

Isnt this a perfect setup wherein the legends as well as the protagonists have a common goal; that is to beat the antagonists? Doesnt this make Lean a worthy antagonist? I mean the main role of an antagonist is to be a road block for the protags journey; which is exactly the case. In addition the legends also now have the goal of beating Lean ( like AIga, Free, Lui and now Valt). So in sparking the legends also have their own goals which relate to the antagonist.

In my humble opinion Sparking if done right from this point onwards has the potential to be a extremely well done season.

I mean the main role of an antagonist is to be a road block for the protags journey; which is exactly the case. In addition the legends also now have the goal of beating Lean ( like AIga, Free, Lui and now Valt). So in sparking the legends also have their own goals which relate to the antagonist.

You're not wrong, but it does undermine the entirety of the Burst series so far by doing so. There are much better ways you can go about setting up that mutual goal without necessarily needing to go to this extent.

While the end of Cho-Z had its faults (I honestly did not like the "let's go fight Hearts on a random island" arc), it also handled both returning characters and new antagonist characters pretty well without causing total disrespect to anyone. It obviously sucked a little to see Valt in that state, but the result it gave afterwards (Cho-Z Valkyrie, Valt legitimately getting that much better etc) made it very worthwhile, even to the end where yes, Aiga did ultimately dethrone Valt. It was generally handled well.

But what we see here is basically:

• Lean has legitimately dethroned everyone, purely based on this "Flare" element. Which is quite literally evil plot armour.
  
• Hyuga and Hikaru are just going to improve their Beys, because they also have the "Flare" plot armour. Lean, having completed his Flare, will do the same.
  
• There is zero indication of redemption for legacy characters. I'd like to see a new Valkyrie for the major December release to help provide an extremely fitting end for Burst, ideally looking at Hyuga vs Valt for a finale. Because let's be real, Hyuga is the primary protagonist of the brothers here, but he also needs to still lose against Valt because his entire character existence revolves around idolising and beating Valt.
  
• Yet we have a very likely end of "new protagonists beat new antagonist and become champions with very little real training, extending a middle finger to everyone in the past five years".
  

If we can whip out another tournament arc for the final arc and provide these legacy characters with an actual redemption, I think it's fine. But if it's left as is, the common goal that this scenario has created doesn't outweigh the fact that it's just a royal slap in the face to most people, haha.

I honestly agree, most of the fans are watching this season for the legends. Not Hyuga and Hikaru.

Exactly. My biggest fear is that the last 15 episodes this season are going to go down like in Cho-Z, with there being pretty much zero important matches that don't involve the main character / the main antagonist. Sisco, Rantaro and Aiga all got a solid setup to actually do something in the next arc this festival, so I'm hoping they are actually going to do something else with them other than having them lose to the twins.

That being said I do think that it is within the realm of possibility that a person dominates the Legend bladers.  I mean there is always a point where the old guard has to be brought down and usually when it happens no one -quite naturally ,I must say- likes it. 

We are seeing this happening right now.
 Im not saying that lean is the perfect antagonist,  im just saying if they can delve deeper into the concept of Flare and Leans motivation it would've it even more interesting.

Lean is far from perfect. Honestly, I'm not even super convinced that he's that antagonistic really; he's more like an anti-villain. His "evil" side is literally just an obsession with getting stronger, and he's fixated on relying on his "Flare" to do it. You do see him training with Shu in flashbacks, so his strength isn't entirely unbelievable. But the rate at which he grows stronger, destroying legends etc, is very unnatural. He's not a prodigy by any means; he seeks strength and he borrows it from his Flare.

To that extent; yeah, plot armour is a nasty thing to say in a show. But Sparking has essentially highlighted this as being just that:

• "Flare" is constantly mentioned as being power, and is insinuated as being otherworldly. Lean is obsessed with building up this power, rather than relying on legitimate battle tactics.
  • It can be argued that Cho-Z Resonance and Gold Turbo are examples of this too. And yeah, they totally are, I'm not even going to beat around the bush there; both are plot armour and devices to drive the show. This wouldn't be an issue, but the first two seasons of Burst were built around "Beyblade as a sport" and some fairly realistic and natural tactics. 
    
  • Resonance and Gold Turbo do actually require proper training to be used effectively though. Flare isn't always like that; at first, yes, it was the same and Lean was training to further that. But currently, it's a "Black Sun devouring the light" situation - it is now relying on absorbing power and kinda cheating in a way.
    
• It's somehow something that can be absorbed from another Flare user and increases your own power, as we saw with Lucifer vs Hyperion in the previous episode. That's not natural, that really is plot armour at that point; he can't beat Valt without relying on power stolen from another Bey and quite literally going crazy for it.
  

A lot of Lean's issues could be solved by covering a lot more of his backstory than we know. But what we currently know just suggests that "Flare happened and now he's power mad", and that's not a great plot device. Him taking down characters that we know 100% of the backstory of (and know the absolute difficulties they've gone through) just makes this worse.

And yeah, it's totally feasible for a new character to beat the greats. Aiga ultimately dethroning Valt is a fantastic example of that and something that nobody saw coming. But if that is going to be done, it ultimately needs to be done properly and in a way where fans are like "Yeah alright, this makes sense. I understand".

Definitely; the only place where i feel Sparking is lacking is related to this aspect:

Pacing 
The pacing of Sparking ,due to its reduced episode length, is extremely weird; Before the legends festival it was slow and near perfect however During this Festival arc (which I believe should have been the last arc of Sparking ) we have seen the pacing increase very abruptly which has caused such an "unnatural" increase in power as you said. 

For the Future (that is remaining 20 episodes) i would like to see the following:

• Leans backstory: This is obvious and I do belive if they can make one or two episodes on Leans character( not his battles it would help)
  
• Another Tournament: Well I do know that we may not have time for that; I do think another tournament ,which does justice to the battles with legends, should happen.
   

Another interesting idea I had was that they end off Sparking with a gloomy end (with lean on top of the "blading world" ) and that season 6 should be the season where they finally overcome him. I do know that this has a 0.001 % chance of happening but who knows. Lol.

Also season 6 has also not been confirmed. Most likely Sparking is the final season.

I'm continuing my reviews, and today I need to review absolutely not an epic episode. I don't afraid to tell that it's one of the worst episodes in the show, even if not the worst one.

Lane vs. Valt battle continues. Valt was really strong in this battle. Lean was not though, but Lane won. Lane's winning is not the bruh moment of this episode. The real bruh moment is the way how Lean defeated Valt. Variant Disaster? Seriously? This special move doesn't include anything, it's just the words, but it burst Valkyrie. I would understand if Lucifer gains his barrier back, but the Variant Disaster is just nothing. Battle was extremely short, and I think it's not good because even if the outcome of the battle is bad, it might be epic at least, but it's not. The only good part of this bad episode is Hyuga and Hikaru evolving Helios and Hyperion (But I think it might be bad sequences for other Legends, including Valt).

I don't understand why people even like Lean. Lean? He doesn't have something really good in his personality (For example, I dislike Hyde, but I understand, why people like him, because of his own character). Lean is only beating strong legends without any effort. Remember, how Valt tried to be best, and he took 2 seasons to become best, but it's absolutely understandable because he went through a big way. What about Lean? We don't see it way so far, and I really doubt we will.

So what's the prize of winning the festival? Is Lane gonna get a trophy or something?

If yall want a rematch for Valt vs. Lean maybe do a fanmade video about it.
BUt anyway this episode was good ngl Im sad Valt didnt win but it was a nice battle.
