I haven't read the manga so I have no idea how Valt vs Free will go but Shu vs Lui is basically Guaranteed.

Now the question is, How will Valt vs Free play out?

I'm wondering if Free will genuinely get bested or will he forfeit here as well.

If they both go all out then Valt must have something new to try, how else (other than plot armor) would he get through the nothing break?

Never... ever... make that face again. Geez, that's so creepy.

Erm, anyways the episode was pretty dang great actually. All four of them were clearly tense about the battle so it adds some atmosphere that this is the semi-finals.

Shu VS Lui was really good, it might be my favourite battle from this arc so far since the stakes were really high (though I saw it coming anyway) and it was Shu's turn to finally defeat and destroy Lui's bey after three battles between the pair. However when Lui loses and has his bey broken, he makes the most... creepy face he has ever made (above). Believe it or not, his reaction is even worse. He laughs like a demonic child who broke his toys (kinda like Sid from Toy Story) and it was creepy awesome.

Free VS Valt is how you'd expect it to go. Free takes the upper hand and Valt eventually takes a point from Free.

It was great but Lui's face, it made Joshua's scary face look tame

Loved the episode completely. Although it felt a bit rushed the battles were insane especially the one between Shu and Lui, aww man that satisfaction when Longinus broke(again lui doesn't deserve it and kinda does) in exact fashion as Strom Spriggan priceless. The battle between Free and Valt has just begun, so next episode is when it would more interesting, of course Valt will win but would be interesting to see how Free goes down.

So we finally got to see the long awaited Lui vs Shu rematch and yeah it was fairly intense, Shu uses Frees technique which beats Lui the first round which is cool. Lui shows he can still beat Shu a round when bursting him and Shu completely destroys Lui the last round. I wish Defense mode was used for once because Shu always seems to lose a round using defense mode. Outside of the sX simulation, the defense tip never seems to let Shu win IIRC, not even a round. After nL breaks, so does Lui, and by that I mean he is shocked and then starts laughing maniacally. To be honest while I'm meant to find it satisfying I felt really sorry for Lui, like damn, I felt so bad for him and it was worse when he started laughing crazily. While this was an anticipated conclusion it felt a bit incomplete honestly, or at least not as conclusive as the manga. Shu doesn't make some speech to rub it in to Lui, Longinus breaks into far less pieces, I felt more bad for Lui and the animation of Longinus breaking is absolutely terrible, like almost Swirl Fighter bad in terms of movement. The halves just float away from each other and its not intense looking at all, even compared to the tN and Reboot breakage. Now that I think about it this battle did feel a bit rushed and fast for the hype, and the conclusion was a bit underwhelming to be honest.

Free vs Valt is pretty interesting too, Free easily beats Valt the first round with Nothing Break, and Valt actually beats Free one round, shocking everyone. Seeing as its currently 2 - 1 to Free and the trailer for the next episode shows a bursted Fafnir in front of Frees feet, then it looks like Free won't be drawing against Valt like the manga and will instead lose legitimately.

That new trailer is still really hype by the way.

This episode was so good, maybe the best one but I say that a lot. But wtf was with the animation budget. The characters looked awful at times and longinus breaking was done really, really poorly.  I love seeing Ken and Daina back though.
And Lui has gone mad. Maybe that will explain why we're getting a new longinus so fast, he will have a change of heart after he sees that friendship always wins <3
