Not likely shu has had almost the same length in his hair since he grew hair it would be kind of peculiar if shu were to make a change almost 14 years later also the fact that none of the characters have long hair except zac which is in the the previous series.
It's also the fact that shu trains hard so the hair would most likely be in his way and would be much annoying unless it's pulled back so yeah.
