Blitz, if you don't mind me asking;
Are we going to be split into 6 groups of 5 or 5 groups or 6?
I picked those to because I think they would be most reasonable and efficient but do you have something else in mind?

Depends on stadiums/judges. If there are 6 stadiums and 6 available judges, then 6x5, if only 5, then 5x6
Defiantly wont be the best idea it will be too packed, block round robin is made for smaller groups.
Well I can help judge if you need to, Blitz. However I have a feeling he wont have any lack of judges.
EDIT: Well I can bring 2, I'm Control_ has one, Blitz must have one and ManicBen had previously mentioned about a stadium he is bringing.
In total that is 5 and I am sure someone else will bring one more or something.

As Bltiz has notified me there is a great lacking of judges due to the MCM expo. Therefore the groups will be of low amount. I wouldn't be surprised if the situation was 3x10 in the end.

Seeing as a Round Robin is usually conducted with at least eight participants, then each block in a Block Round Robin should logically have at least six or more participants playing their own Round Robin. Groups of five is really too small. I would go as far as making groups of eight if possible, somehow.

Well, imo I think Blitz would like more experienced/reliable/older judges. So far everyone who fits that category is You, BladeStorm, Blitz, ToRmEnTeD. I will be happy to judge if needed seeing on 4 does not divide into 30.
EDIT: Lol groups of eight out of 30 Well if we bump up the participant limit or lower it to 24 I guess that could work but I think most people won't agree on losing 6 places.
I would think the best option would be 5 groups of 6 since we don't really want 10 people in one group or 6 whole groups.
Just seen Kai-V's post. So your saying 8 groups of: (you can't).
Edit: Sorry, i misread, so your saying 8 people in: (you can't).

3 Groups of 10 is a good idea in my opinion for the following reasons:
1. Making up for the lost battles in Block Double Elimination.
2. Allowing those that have only competed for two battles and getting knocked out to gain more experience in competitive play.
3. 3 Finalists is a wholesome number.
If this isn't convincing enough,
2 Groups of 7, 2 Groups of 8 - This sounds OK but really I think 3 groups of ten is necessary. Bladestorm has previously unofficially judged perfectly.

I understand the 3 finalists but imo I think 10 is just a bit too much. I also agree on when you say people get to have more battles in a competitive environment, but...I don't know. It just doesn't seem right to me.

Your right you know! I have only just realized if we have 3 groups of 10 each person has at least 9 battles if they get knocked out! That is a great idea! 3 cheers for Control_ and his making people realize and understand skills! lol!
Yes, but the only problem is time. We had 6 groups of 8 one time and it took like 90 mins to get everyone finished.

Fixed.
3 groups of 10 gives (3x45)+3 battles = 138 total battles, 9 minimum battles per player if they don't drop.
5 groups of 6 gives (5x15)+10 battles = 85 total battles, 5 minimum battles per player if they don't drop.
2 groups of 8 and 2 groups of 7 give (2x28)+(2x21)+6 battles = 104 total battles, 6 minimum battles per player if they don't drop.
Exactly, smaller groups are quicker. If you think about it:
1 Person has minimum of 9 battles
Within those 9 battles are 3 battles which is 27
If you add the other 10 people doing the same thing you get 270
The 3 groups do the same thing and that turns out to be a whopping 810 battles just at the start.
Then the three finalist have to face off which is 18 battles in total.
All together that is 828 ROUNDS NOT BATTLES

Anyway, I'd prefer more groups than 3 because of the waiting times for battles; stalling and long matches.
Lol, I think that is wrong. My calculator buttons 1 cm wide and it is late.

Furthermore the park closing time is late as the days get longer, allowing us confirmed light throughout the tournament. I hope people don't usually have arrangements after tournaments (unwise due to the lacking of an ending time); if people don't, then it would be wise to go for option A.
ED: I agree with Bladestorm, perhaps 3 x 10 is too much.

Me to I agree with bladestorm.
It depends on the mindset of everyone. The options depend on personal preferance. Personally i would prefer 3x10 but wouldnt mind the other options. The maximum wait time between battles is 8 battles of watching in 3x10.
