Does it have to be a GT Bayblade or any Bayblade is acceptable?

Basically, no, it does not have to be a GT Beyblade. You can use anything released by Takara-Tomy before Sparking (although there are some exceptions) and anything released by Hasbro.
You can see a list of the legal equipment in the rulebook here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Vhry...fairxmt4c5
The trophies for this event as well as the other two BEYBLADE NORTH 2022 events arrived today! Check 'em out!

beyblade time
Hello everyone! BEYBLADE NORTH 2022 at Anime North 2022 is now less than a week away! I hope you are all looking forward to it. I have a few important updates to share:
Final Stage: WBO Deck Match Type Rule Adjustment
A small modification has been made to the WBO Deck Match Type rules that will be used for the finals of this event knock-outs will be worth 2 points instead of 1.
This is both in the interests of time as we will have a limited amount the night of the event, and also in the interests of continuing to experiment with potentially implementing this change for ranked play in the future.
Prizes
Here is a look at some of the prizes that will be awarded across each of the three tournaments on July 15, 16, and 17!
Need-to-Know Information
In addition to the need-to-know information listed at the bottom of the event description at the top of this page, we have prepared a sheet that will be distributed to each participant of this event on Saturday, July 16.
It includes key rules and information you must be familiar with before you play in this event. We will review this info and more with everyone when we start. Let's work together to ensure the tournament can be completed swiftly and successfully!
Floor Plan
This is the floor plan of our booth in Hall B at the Toronto Congress Centre. We will be in the southeast corner (same spot as previous years). The exact layout is subject to change, but this is what we’ll be shooting for.
As always, we will ask that all participants stay clear of the tournament area unless you have been called for a match. On the floor plan this is the area with the red blocks and the pathway along the right that starts from the diagonal green line.
Staff, Judges, and Volunteers
This event is going to be a team effort and I’d like to highlight for everyone attending who will be on the team helping with the events throughout the weekend along with what their roles will be.

Social Media Coverage
Finally, I’d like to ensure we have as much coverage of this event for social media as possible. I’ll be doing my best to shoot video and take photos throughout the weekend.
However, I will be pre-occupied at times with running the event so if anyone else is willing to help out with shooting photos or video please send me a message!

Question about the entry fee. The fee is in Canadian dollars, right?
I think I have to drop out of this one, my friend is running a panel on how to get into props/cosplay professionally and its at 5:30. I'll probably still come check things out after and I'll see you all on Saturday!
Hello everyone! I understand some of you may be stuck in line trying to get into the convention.
We have pushed back the start time for the tournament to 6:30PM in order to accommodate as many people as possible. If you arrive after that you will only be able to participate in free play today. Hall B closes later tonight around 10PM, so we cannot wait too long to start.
Also, in order to save some time we will be changing the first stage format to the 1on1 Match Type.

Hello everyone, thank you to all of you who participated in BEYBLADE NORTH this year! It was great to be back after three years, finally and to see so many new and old faces.
However, I’ve received some unfortunate news that at least one person who attended our events this past weekend has tested positive for COVID-19.
I would recommend that anyone who participated in our events or was at our booth for an extended period of time test themselves in order to confirm whether they are positive or negative.
If you test positive, you can learn more here about what to do: https://www.canada.ca/en/public-health/s...ptoms.html
I will be sending this message to all of the participants via Private Message as well.
edit: And to be clear, the person who I have confirmed the positive test result from attended all three BEYBLADE NORTH events at Anime North.
Tournament Final Standings:
1st: Tahoor
2nd: originalzankye
3rd: Kei
4th: Dan

Hey everyone, I have two Beyblades that seem to have been lost by someone at the convention. I'm not sure what day this happened on ... but if you're missing two Beyblades, send me a private message letting me know what you think you lost and I'll tell you if that's what I have. Then, we can arrange to get them back to you at the next Toronto tournament you attend.
