Basically, no, it does not have to be a GT Beyblade. You can use anything released by Takara-Tomy before Sparking (although there are some exceptions) and anything released by Hasbro.

Hello everyone! BEYBLADE NORTH 2022 at Anime North 2022 is now less than a week away! I hope you are all looking forward to it. I have a few important updates to share:

Final Stage: WBO Deck Match Type Rule Adjustment
A small modification has been made to the WBO Deck Match Type rules that will be used for the finals of this event knock-outs will be worth 2 points instead of 1.

This is both in the interests of time as we will have a limited amount the night of the event, and also in the interests of continuing to experiment with potentially implementing this change for ranked play in the future.

Floor Plan
This is the floor plan of our booth in Hall B at the Toronto Congress Centre. We will be in the southeast corner (same spot as previous years). The exact layout is subject to change, but this is what we’ll be shooting for.

As always, we will ask that all participants stay clear of the tournament area unless you have been called for a match. On the floor plan this is the area with the red blocks and the pathway along the right that starts from the diagonal green line.

Social Media Coverage
Finally, I’d like to ensure we have as much coverage of this event for social media as possible. I’ll be doing my best to shoot video and take photos throughout the weekend.

However, I will be pre-occupied at times with running the event so if anyone else is willing to help out with shooting photos or video please send me a message!

I think I have to drop out of this one, my friend is running a panel on how to get into props/cosplay professionally and its at 5:30. I'll probably still come check things out after and I'll see you all on Saturday!

Hello everyone! I understand some of you may be stuck in line trying to get into the convention.

We have pushed back the start time for the tournament to 6:30PM in order to accommodate as many people as possible. If you arrive after that you will only be able to participate in free play today. Hall B closes later tonight around 10PM, so we cannot wait too long to start.

Also, in order to save some time we will be changing the first stage format to the 1on1 Match Type.

Hello everyone, thank you to all of you who participated in BEYBLADE NORTH this year! It was great to be back after three years, finally and to see so many new and old faces.

However, I’ve received some unfortunate news that at least one person who attended our events this past weekend has tested positive for COVID-19.

I would recommend that anyone who participated in our events or was at our booth for an extended period of time test themselves in order to confirm whether they are positive or negative.
