Questions about the WBO

(Oct. 10, 2011  10:46 PM)Shabalabadoo Wrote: There's a good number of Drafts in the BeyWiki Project Forum that are done and need Kei to check over it and ones that have been lost into later pages (and many people that think their drafts are ready that post "WAITING APPROVAL" in the title, but their draft sucks, but that's beside the point).

I honestly have no clue how this could be answered, especially for Kei's sake, but how in the world can we make it easier and more productive? Not productive in the sense of writing drafts, but productive in the sense that the many Drafts actually make it to BeyWiki.

Maybe we could make an exception to the bumping rule so that drafts don't go unposted. If that were to happen, I'd say they could be bumped every 3 days, but that's just me.
No, that's not it. That doesn't solve the problem because only a few people bump pointlessly, and when they do it just makes the good drafts move down to another page.

We have two options.

Option A: Grab some guns and take care of Kei's business for him so he can stay here all day reading and approving drafts.

Option B: Request that someone else be added to the Beywiki Police Force.

Although, really, all sub-par drafts should be purged entirely if they're not being updated.

...
I had no idea that Kei worked with guns, interesting... :p

On a more serious note, one of the things I have observed about our beywiki entries is that they consist of both objective facts (weights, physical descriptions, versions, etc.) and subjective evaluations (use in combos, tier, should you own it, etc.).

If we separated the two sets of information and focused on the objective first, I am confident that we could have an entry for every current bey in relatively short order. Then the subjective information could be discussed in isolation without holding back all of the other good reference information that is generally beyond debate.

Haha, Kei will definitely appreciate that.

As for B, totally not my decision so I can't really say anything

I think the Drafts are plenty productive, it just that Kei can't get to them all. No human being could.
He'd still have to go over all the objective facts too, though. There's some (actually quite a few) members that can't spell or put together sentences worth carp that suppossedly "KEI, IT'S READY!!!!".
I like Arupaeo's idea. Get the facts listed first. All 'opinions' about combos or anything else can be done in due time. This way, at least the beywiki will contain a little information for each beyblades.

Something is still better than nothing.
Actually, we were thinking that I could write the squeleton of the article for an upcoming Beyblade once all the basic information is known about it, that way I would not have to update the opening post for that release's thread, and it would be more productive. It would be made clear that the article is still a stub and that any other edits should first be approved by posting them as drafts in the Beywiki Project forum.
If it were you then yeah i think that'd be really usefull and helpful.

just to make your life easier, what if you even posted a point form list like this:
http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Errors-o...#pid806086

or is that what you already had in mind?
can someone please answer my question? I forgot and wanna know. please?

You could try using the in-line Search function in this topic, or reading the Help section, which always helps.
Oh hey, you know what I just thought...

Not to toot my own horn, but I do believe I have better drafts than most of the many drafts in the BeyWiki Project Forum. There are people that are a zillion times better than me, but I go in there frequently (which I have no idea why I enjoy BeyWiki Drafts, I do really really bad in English class), and what if there could be designated people that are constantly in that forum that can obviously write properly, and drafts go through them before Kei, basically like a filter.

So, just say it was me (even if there is more qualified people, just an example) that was one of the designated people. I go over the drafts, then when I think 100% of the info is there, the draft has no errors that I can see, and is properly formatted, I send it to Kei. Obviously Kei can go to whatever ones he wants whenever, but it just seems more productive to have the people who frequently edit people's drafts correctly pass the ready drafts to Kei as well.

That way Kei gets the good ones and he hopefully doesn't have very much to change at all. I think that could help get the many drafts on BeyWiki.
@SSJ/Shabalabadoo, I think that's a great idea! That way Kei has an easier life, and we get to learn stuff from the articles. Smile

When you post ("Full" Reply), look at the icons above the message field.
I have recently drafted a short essay for debate on Voice Actors and whether or not there is such a thing as terrible voice actors. Would I be allowed to post this essay in the Discussion Forum or Beyblade Anime forum once the essay is finalized? The paper focuses on beyblade voice actors, as it was the inspiration for writing it.

Hm, I hesitate between Beyblade Anime and Manga, Media, or Your Creations. What sort of replies are you looking to get with that essay/topic ?
Um, how come I never get a warning level? I mean, I have spammed alot before, and no warning lv. On the other hand, Strikerlord, who has spammed around the same amount as me, is baaned. Can anyone explain?

This is a cool idea, but I think things are fine the way they are because the people who write drafts always PM me when they believe they're getting close to being ready. Even if they're not that close yet, I can glance at them and in a second know if they're close or not. So, something like you're suggesting isn't necessary.

I just feel bad that it often takes me so long to get around to approving drafts ... It's usually because I always have to make some relatively significant edits to more than one section (however, that's not to say that a lot of the drafts are of poor quality!).
does this count? whats happened with the design a bey space competition? are the judges still voting? it's just because i've heard no info about it. also is there any way to remove a warning? like doing something good?

They're not done deciding about the Design a Bey contest, as far as we're aware.

As for removing a warning level, it's highly unlikely that you'll be capable of it. It's only done very rarely - it's actually explained/mentioned a few pages back in this thread, I believe.
aah ok, I was just wondering because I really want to get a better warning level, and help contribute!
