ok reading through this thread more carefully makes me think you should make sure you know you want to risk telling her. you say you are are very good friends--what does that mean? if you're as close as you say you are, chances are she'll only see you in that platonic light. while i don't think the friendship would be fractured per se, the relationship would undoubtedly change.

but who knows. she may feel the same way. it's a risk vs. reward sort of thing, i guess. if it doesn't work out i would caution against falling for your older, close friends in the future.

I assume you mean telling them, because you can't really get a choice about liking someone in this way or not.

In my opinion it will just scare the person off, and if you're good friends that's really bad. Hey, I have no idea what your situation is like nearly as well as you do though so it's your call.

I also think giving someone a note is a really cowardly way to go about it unless you manage to do it in a very intelligent way.

I wouldn't say it in words. As much as we (girls) like to know guys like us, we don't always feel the same way. Go ask her to a movie. Be like "Hey, _____ just came out. My buddies are a little to wild for the theater so I don't wanna bring them. Wanna chill instead?"

Keep everything casual, lots of freely jokes, don't try to show off or make yourself look amazing. Keep talking about her and pay for everything. That'll make up for the age factor. Girls like being treated (except for me, I always feel guilty)

Biggest cmplaint about guys: they are waaay too pushy. Don't force anything or ask about things in frequency. For example, dating. Don't exactly hit on her on the first date. Just show her you can roll with it. The one thing I'd say, is stare in her eyes a bit longer than you normally would. Not too long, then it's creepy. If she looks away right away, then she's probably uncomfortable. Take it down a knotch. If she keeps looking, smile. SMILE.
