Good idea. The mass of recent tournaments shows why this is necessary. The whole front page is clogged thick with them. Anything to get a handle on the situation is very welcome. Though I must point out: the same could be said for this entire section of the board.
Thought...
Most users in the Your Creations section appear to be regulars. It feels like most others don't visit this part of the board just because of the volume of stuff that's here. No offence to anyone in particular but a lot of the material here just isn't that interesting. People get sick of thread-surfing only to be inundated with stuff that's not really worth their time. And there is a lot of stuff both ways.
As an example; tournament threads are mostly filled with requests - which is useless information for anyone but the poster and the organiser. Sure these posts need to happen for the tournament to work - but why would anyone else want to read them? They just take up space.
Likewise, some stories are just better than others. There's no shame in that. We should all enjoy an opportunity to improve. But a single truly great narrative in a hundred makes it difficult to find just that one.
Meanwhile...
The calendar idea is a good one. Frankly, I'd like to see a whole subsection added to this forum where high-calibre creative threads can be moved for collection; threads which are well-presented, well-written or just really unique. If a mod feels a thread (be it a story, tournament, photoblog, etc) is worthy of exhibition to the wider audience of the WBO, they can move it to this "exhibition" subsection. Make it a once-a-week thing. This way, other users on the board can cut straight to the chase. For the people posting their work/tournaments as usual, it becomes a raw incentive to improve their skills.
