It is important to remember these are theories based on hypotheses, the truth is that we don't actually know. We have never been able to do experiments on anything we haven't brought back to earth with the exception of data gathered from probes. Obviously if a probe were sucked into a black hole we wouldn't get any data back either, so we need to think of ways to study singularities to prove or disprove modern theory.
True, but saying that you can even ORBIT one is insane and just plain silly, no? If the gravity would not allow light to even orbit it, how would a human, or anything a human makes? It makes no sense. Though a way to study them WOULD be interesting, especially since light-speed doesn't seem possible.
