Beyblade Burst Side Event - Rules explained below!

We'll be playing in the shelter where we usually play. If you're coming to High Park via the Bloor St. W entrance, just follow that road down on the right side and you'll see the large building/shelter on the left hand side before you reach the tennis courts. If you have any questions about the location, please post here! This map has the area we'll be playing in roughly outlined:

Blader Passport or Entry Fee Required for Ranked Burst Format Event
To participate in the second event of the day–the Ranked Burst Format tournament at 2PM–you must purchase a Blader Passport for $20 CDN–which will grant you entry into all WBO events for an entire year, among other benefits–or alternatively, you can pay $6 CDN for a single tournament.
Unranked Beyblade Burst Side Event Information
The rules for this side event are super easy to learn. While the regular first to 3 wins, best out of 5 matches still applies, this event does have a small banlist:
- Odin Layer
- Deathscyther Layer
- Dark Deathscyther Layer

In addition to the currently banned Odin Layer, Dark Deathscyther and Deathscyther Layers will also be considered illegal for this side event. This ruling does not apply for the Ranked event afterwards. Though Credits, Faces and BeyPoints will not be awarded, we encourage you all to come out a bit earlier in the day to help us see what the game is like without the three Layers! To add, this side event is not connected with the previously discussed experimental ruleset.
What is Beyblade Burst?

Beyblade Burst is the brand new, third generation of Beyblade by TAKARA-TOMY! It launched in 2015 in Japan and Hasbro is set to launch it in North America in 2016. If you are not familiar with Beyblade Burst, please take a look at the Beyblade Wiki article covering it, the Beyblade General Forum, and the Beyblade Burst Hasbro Topic for the most up to date information about Hasbro's release of the series internationally.
Don't have any Beyblades from this new series? No problem! It's likely that people will have some on hand for sale, and if not, we would be glad to lend one to you for the duration of the event!

Side Note
We'd advise users to please, please look after your stuff. While yes this is a Beyblade tournament and we're not suggesting that any of us would attempt to take each other's stuff it is still happening at a public venue where other people (who may not be so friendly) are going to be present as well. Of course, if you see a personal belonging lying around bring it up any of the judges so we can return it to the right person. Your co-operation is appreciated!

Yo it will be Play Day at Toys "R" Us this September 24th, probably everywhere in Canada, so even if this tournament is on Sunday, you guys should try to do something at your local stores since it looks like Beyblade Burst will be demonstrated:

Almost forgot about this! I'm definitely planning on going. I was thinking that the Toys R Us at Sherway Gardens would be a good spot. I don't expect anything huge, but when I went there years ago before the World Championships in 2012 that's the place where I found and was able to speak to several employees from Hasbro.
Anybody want to join me?

Hey y'all! I came down with a cold this week and I'm still planning to come tomorrow, but only if my illness doesn't make a comeback and only for the 2pm actual Burst tournament (so I'm not outside in the cold too long while my immune system is bad).
