BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP
SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010
Anime North 2010 @ Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel

Golden Delicious Room
STANDARD (MFB/BMF) FORMAT

9 AM - Free Battle and Set Up
10 AM - "Beyblade 101" Workshop
11 AM - Free Battle and Registration for Beyblade Revival Cup
12 PM - Beyblade Revival Cup Tournament

In 2008, we hosted the BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! tournament- which was planned well before we knew that just one short year later MFB would be launching in Japan. However, now the time has come for Bladers all across the nation to celebrate the launch of BEYBLADE: METAL FUSION in Canada! Thus, for the third year in a row we will be hosting our marquee event at ANIME NORTH 2010, hosted by ANGaming, this year under the title; BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP!

No Beyblade? No problem! We're going to try to obtain Beyblades to bring with us so you'll be able to draft the parts to form a full Beyblade (for approx. $10), then you can play and trade with other Bladers before the tournament to hone your skills!

A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention, however if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments, with even better prizes in the future, and also participate in our world ranking system, the BeyPoints System, then you will need one!

We encourage all Bladers, both the brand new and the old to attend! With Beyblade becoming mainstream again, this has the possibility of becoming the largest tournament we have ever hosted, which means that competition will be fiercer than ever! You don't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!

If you think you'll be able to come, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

BEY MEET-UP - FRIDAY MAY 28TH
6pm @ Doubletree Lobby

For those of you who can make it on Friday, we're planning on having a small meet-up. It shouldn't be too hard to find us; stadiums will be strewn about the floor, and I'll try to get a BEYBLADE BATTLE STATION poster up.

If there is enough people, we could potentially have a single elimination tournament as well (don't want to complicate things for something small like that).

No, there is no age limit. Not sure if there are age brackets though, check the first page of this thread.
thx! I try hard to speak more in english ^^'

keep me informed valentin for your tournament! mtl is about 45min of my home.

but for now i have no new blades from the new generation... i'm waiting for hasbro release
i am so attending cuz i never went to anime north before and also its gonna be my first beyblade event EVER!!!!!
you can put my name on the possible list.
I'd kinda like to go, but if my buddies caught wind of this I'd never hear the end of it lol....put me on the "possible" list. Do any girls show up? Wink
why is libra banned because its an unmovable tank because i have seen alot of people defat libra
i may be able to go if not my friend will

The game revolved around beating Libra. That is why it is going to be banned. Doing so opens up the game significantly, allowing other parts to be used that otherwise would not have been effective.

are you allowed to use a part from libra like its track or bottom

Of course. The only thing not allowed is the wheel itself. You can still use the clear Wheel Libra, too. Just not the Pre-HWS version.

It turns out I can't go. I asked my mom, and she told me my cousin's Bat Mitzvah is that weekend. I have two reasons why I shouldn't go:

1. Her temple doesn't allow girls to read from the Torah. So I think they shouldn't have it there because of that.
2. I totally hate loud noises, and the party is called "Midnight Sheik".

You sound like me last year. Freeeeeaaaaky. Except I was never planning on looking for women at a children's spinning top game tournament at an anime convention.

ahaha true man! I guess I'll have to hit up some clubs in the big TO afterwards lol. Anime convention, don't people usually dress up for those?

A large percentage of con goers do, though I think I'm one of very few bladers who cosplays, out of the AN WBO attendees, anyways.

I find the notion of trying to pick up girls at a beyblade tournament somewhat hilarious.

What kind of turn-out are you expecting this year? I wish the con wasn't so expensive, I'd love to really promote the tournament to new faces. A bunch of my friends may check it out this year. I know my bf, and my friend aaron (i think he's lighting starfish on here?) want to participate again. They never got into the forums, but they had fun playing.

Nice! Who do you plan on going as? The location for this has yet to be determined, what kind of space was it last year?
And yeah obviously just joking about picking up girls lolTongue_out

Even bigger than last year! I anticipate much more actually, for the obvious reason of BMF being launched by the time of the tournament. Right now we're sitting at around 40 people (I suppose 42 if we include DynamicUno and lightningstarfish) with both the "attendees" and "possible attendees" lists combined, no to mention the other people who will find out about the tournament while at the convention.

It's going to be great!

Bey-Love.
Speaking of which I really need to get around to buying my pass. I've got till April 30th so I have a few more days.
sorry, but if i pay the initial 40, im set for everything right? meaning i won;t have to pay for nothing mandatory unless im purchasing items?
Yep that's it.

Only other cost would be if you are buying gear from people.

Last year it was a small conference room in a hotel. You can sort of see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AOiGsjVXqw0

I'm cosplaying terriermon, http://img2.purerave.com/5/55/5441955.jpg but I'll probably be wearing civilian clothes during the tournament. And by civilian I clearly mean BIG PANTS. http://img1.purerave.com/3/03/3959703.jpg

Although I have been considering doing Brooklyn again, I don't know how I feel about being a red-head again, and I don't like wigs. http://img2.purerave.com/5/50/5207650.jpg

Awesome! I hope everything runs smoothly. I'm giddy just thinking about it Tongue_out
Crapedy carp carp...
I'm still hooked on the idea to take the risk of not buying the pass, but then getting checked.
I have the money but i was planning to spend it on other stuffz...
Either Way, I will force my parents onto the fact that it is a NECESSITY to take me and I WILL RULE THE WORLD.
Maybe not the last part, but yeah Grin
