BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP
SATURDAY, MAY 29, 2010
Anime North 2010 @ Sheraton Toronto Airport Hotel

Golden Delicious Room
STANDARD (MFB/BMF) FORMAT

9 AM - Free Battle and Set Up
10 AM - "Beyblade 101" Workshop
11 AM - Free Battle and Registration for Beyblade Revival Cup
12 PM - Beyblade Revival Cup Tournament

In 2008, we hosted the BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! tournament- which was planned well before we knew that just one short year later MFB would be launching in Japan. However, now the time has come for Bladers all across the nation to celebrate the launch of BEYBLADE: METAL FUSION in Canada! Thus, for the third year in a row we will be hosting our marquee event at ANIME NORTH 2010, hosted by ANGaming, this year under the title; BEYBLADE REVIVAL CUP!

No Beyblade? No problem! We're going to try to obtain Beyblades to bring with us so you'll be able to draft the parts to form a full Beyblade (for approx. $10), then you can play and trade with other Bladers before the tournament to hone your skills!

A Blader Passport is not required for this tournament, as AN does not allow event organizers to charge entry fees for events within the convention, however if you want to support the WBO so we can host even better tournaments, with even better prizes in the future, and also participate in our world ranking system, the BeyPoints System, then you will need one!

We encourage all Bladers, both the brand new and the old to attend! With Beyblade becoming mainstream again, this has the possibility of becoming the largest tournament we have ever hosted, which means that competition will be fiercer than ever! You don't want to miss it! Hope to see you there!

If you think you'll be able to come, please post here and I will start building an attendance list!

BEY MEET-UP - FRIDAY MAY 28TH
6pm @ Doubletree Lobby

For those of you who can make it on Friday, we're planning on having a small meet-up. It shouldn't be too hard to find us; stadiums will be strewn about the floor, and I'll try to get a BEYBLADE BATTLE STATION poster up.

If there is enough people, we could potentially have a single elimination tournament as well (don't want to complicate things for something small like that).

Need-to-Know Information

1. During Registration, Open Your Account Page

Open your account page on your mobile device (if possible) during registration to help us keep things quick.

2. Arrive On Time

You must arrive by the tournament start time to enter. We cannot add new players to an event once it begins. If you're running late, contact the host.

3. Stay Aware of Your Belongings

We do everything possible to ensure a safe environment, but can't be held responsible for lost or stolen goods. Keep your gear close by!

4. The Tournament Will Last At Least a Few Hours

This event is likely to last at least a few hours. If you can't commit to the entire tournament, you're welcome to come watch and play for fun instead!

5. Listen For Your Username To Be Called

Your name will be called when it's time for your next battle. If you need to leave early or take a break, tell a judge. Missing a match could mean disqualification!

6. Players Must Meet Regional Product Age Restrictions

All players in this event must meet the age restrictions on Beyblade products in their region. TAKARA-TOMY recommends Beyblade for ages 6+. Hasbro recommends Beyblade for ages 8+. Players under these ages may only participate with the permission of their parent/guardian.

7. Players Under 18 Must Be Accompanied by a Parent/Guardian

If you are under 18 years old, a parent/guardian must accompany you and be present for the duration of the event.

8. Contests, Raffles, Gambling, Betting, and Selling Are Prohibited

Advertising the sale of any product or service, as well as posting about any contest, raffle, gambling, or betting on this event page and conducting them at the event without approval by Fighting Spirits Inc. staff is prohibited. Please contact the Organized Play team if you require approval.

9. Terms of Service

All event attendees and users of this website are subject to our Terms of Service.

Though, if you don't want to dish out 10 bucks for a new one, and have parts lying around, you can manage.
Example: A solution to the problem of the prongs snapping is somewhat alleviated [unintentionally] by Hasbro, or rather the fact that they include a ripcord launcher with each bey.

Prong replacement is easy enough, and the white grip wheels inside the prong wheels of both launchers are identical, cutting back on replacement due to wear and tear.

What thinkest thou on't?

Disassembling a launcher is against the rules.

Have you performed any studies on either blade yet?
I am getting a Galaxy Peg, and I'd just like to know its strong points.
(If this seems inappropriate for this topic, then just PM me about it rather then starting a whole new discussion and pissing people off.)
Man, i really want to join this Uncertain but i cant i just need to expand on my beyblades Uncertain i only have 1 right now Grin

That is good enough, perhaps on friday or so pick up some more?

You only need one Beyblade to compete!
(May. 27, 2010  3:26 AM)Kei Wrote: You only need one Beyblade to compete!

However isn't it going to be boring playing with only one bey for the entire tourney?
nope, it's still a great experience.
So... put me down as a "Maybe" for attending. I'm broke, but I might try to work something out! Sadly all of my Beys are back in my hometown, which is an entire province away. I guess I'll just have to pick up some Beys before I head out!

As an aside, I will definitely be attending on Sunday, so look for a girl dressed in goth-loli clothing hauling around a Ryuk (of Death Note fame) ball jointed doll. He's a 60cm doll, so he's darn hard to miss! Anyway, if anyone'll be there on Sunday and you see me, perhaps we could have a match or two. I don't have a stadium, but I can always haul a small popcorn bowl with me and we could battle the way I used to as a kid before I got a stadium (I think my favourite stadium substitute I used was a hotel's bathtub XD).
put me in the attending list becuase im gonna go for sureSmile

this my first time beybladeing in a while but so excited

If you find me on Friday night, I can probably set you up with something then. Can't say what time yet, but I'll be in the lobby at some point, like we are each year on the Friday.

Speaking of which, does anybody here know if they can make it Friday night to the Doubletree lobby for some free battling?

I have to be @ the con to set up a music stage @ like 1:30 on friday, so I will be around friday for sure. Is you cell number still the same BTW?

I know we've been asked not to discuss not paying for the con, but this is a warning for those that are thinking of it. I got an email last week from the con with this message:
Quote:There is a group online who claim they have purchased "bulk" Anime North memberships and are now reselling them at discount prices, giving them out to people outside the con on Friday. This is a scam, and they are giving people counterfeit badges.

Anime North is taking anti-counterfeiting measures on the convention badges this year. If you do NOT obtain your badge from us at the Registration Desk, it'll clearly be a phony, you will not be allowed into the convention, and you will have wasted your money.

We look forward to seeing you at the convention this year. Let's all have a great con.

Donald Simmons
Head of Operations, Anime North
Do we have to rent a room while we're in the tournament?
Only if you live out of town I presume.

No, it's changed for now. Check your PM.

No.

I'm going to be there for the whole day tomorrow. So, everyone, what time do you think would be good to meet at the Doubletree?
(May. 27, 2010  9:10 PM)Kei Wrote: I'm going to be there for the whole day tomorrow. So, everyone, what time do you think would be good to meet at the Doubletree?

For me it depends, how long is going to take?
I think for most people 7-ish PM will be suitable?
Hey everybody! I have a question.

I really want to join the tourney but i have never been in a "competitive" Beyblade situation, so I'm a little worries that I'll be seen and the "newb" of the tourney. You think it is ok to join even though I have little to no experience and only one blade? (from this MF series of course)
Don't worry. I'm a "newb" too. Just bring a good blade and have fun. I'm sure you're not the only one with this situation.
By the way how long is the tournament? 1 day or more?
