Be careful, last time my name was near a limited format tournament it didn't pan out... Of course that was with a much less capable host.

This should be very interesting to see. I'm personally not 100% convinced these parts are quite too strong compared to the format - I was very comfortable with Libra being present in particular, so it will be nice to see them stretch their legs, see if and how they break things.
I've seen Libra fight and win against 4D era beys so I'm perhaps a bit more wary of its inclusion, but regardless I'll give it a whirl.

Also, just so you know, the link to the banlist sends me to a "request access" page. Might wanna make that public.

Back when I was testing stuff for limited I didn't see libra as being quite scary enough against more modern things (and if anything encouraging defense use in response a bit like a more passive Diablo in 4D). That said, I only had Mold 3... Mold 2 is interesting. I still haven't seen major issues with them that I don't think are hype - I could definitely be wrong though, approaches to combo building have changed since my time and I could only test with what we knew at the time. Be great to see how it goes in practice, I appreciate you guys working on this!

I also don't get why Mold 2 is so hyped up as well, my mold 3 Libra does far, far better than my Mold 2s in all regards. Like, enough that Mold 2 on AS still lost a Stamina matchup to Mold 3 on RS on equivalent heights in a CBT I'm still doing. I know AS isn't a good Stamina tip, but it's better than RS!

Isn't AS just Revolve?

Mold 2 takes hits from below better as the main point of recoil on mold 3 is covered, and it has better OWD, the stamina for mine at least seemed slightly better but really it's the lower recoil on B: D (given most things are hitting from below that).
That said, Basalt used to have a weird grinding ability on RS that would let it murk stamina combos so I wonder if this is doing something similar? I'll try it out tonight if I get a chance, that's really interesting if so! This is why I love tournaments like this :)

Edit: Just did some quick mirror testing on 145WD. My heavier Mold 3 with its more sizeable weight advantage won 10-0 under standard procedure. My slightly lighter one (still slightly heavier than Mold 2) was 5-5 vs Mold 2. Still found mold 2 slightly more annoying on B:D.

Isn't AS just Revolve?

Revolve, if Revolve sucked because the tip was far sharper and stuck out more so the plate did much less to actually stabilize it.

Oh Ok. (What is up with MFb and ridiculously bad sharps).

Those sorts of sharps were bad in plastics too, Sharp Base as an example. The same is true in Burst, where it looks more like Edge or Just. It's not just Metal Fight, it's the design at its core that is flawed. MFB just showcases the flaws more because of their long spin times and high knockback compared to most other generations, where their poor grip and balance are even more plain to see.

Plastics are less well known nowadays, and Burst has mostly strayed away from those failed designs for the sake of its bursting gimmick to create more layer-to-layer contact, but the truth is it's been a bad design from the beginning. These bad sharps being an MFB thing is an illusion, it's just universal.

Ok, so sharp tip=Bad. Let’s hope we never see them ever again.

Undoubtedly we will, and sharps that come in the form of wide angled cones are still one of the best shapes for Stamina in the game. Similarly something like Sharp Wide Defense isn't bad despite its sharp center because it has an adequately wide and well placed guard to stabilize itself. Just is an example that tries to do the same thing, but its spinning guard is way too high up and doesn't help enough in terms of stabilization to make up for its failures.

Besides, if you've ever really analyzed a game built on customization, you'd know that bad parts are a part of the learning curve. Figuring out why a bad part is bad is perhaps even more valuable than never receiving any bad parts at all, and it's the first step to understanding what "good" really means.
