Time:
The tournament itself will start at 12:00pm, so as a guide, aim to arrive for 11:30am. The Tube and public transport services are not very reliable, so plan your journey well in advance.

Location:
Regent's Park. We shall be at the Bandstand as always, but in case of congestion, we may relocate to the smaller shelter on the way to the Ready Money Drinking Fountain. Please check this thread on the day for updates or like us on Facebook for any quick location updates.

Directions:
Here is a map of Regent's Park. Click on the tab labelled "Monuments, Fountains and Statues". Head to the area marked Bandstand or in some cases, head to the Ready Money Drinking Fountain. We suggest taking the London Underground or Bus to Baker Street.

Prizes:
Ordered! Just gotta make sure they arrive on time...

Hosts and Judges:
This tournament is being hosted by ~Mana~, with Syphon serving as co-host. If you have any queries about the event, feel free to PM us or post in the thread and we'll be happy to help!

Important Advice:
Despite being around friends and rivals, please remember we are in a public park. Bad behaviour and swearing will not be tolerated and will result in a ban from future events. Please keep your personal belongings with you or in a safe place while at the bandstand. If you see any personal items left around with no apparent owner, please hand it in to a judge, so we can return it to its rightful owner. Your cooperation is much appreciated.

Remember to turn up on time. If you arrive later than 12:10pm, your place will be forfeit and you will not be able to participate. If you know you'll be late, please let us know via PM or a post in-thread!

Spread the Word!
Are you as excited about the festivities as we are?! If so, be sure to tell your friends about it! And if you haven't already, follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook!

Yes, red jacket.
Just came out of Baker Street station trying to find my way to the bandstand

I'll make a full post with an overview of today's hectic day when I get home, but it was fun, and I think everyone had a great time! Thank you everyone for coming! <3
Today was absolute insanity! Thanks for the amazing matches everyone in B Block!
It was amazing to meet all you guys thanks for the amazing matches and advice

Congrats mana btw

GG basedsamuraij you and I had a great match

Consider yourself lucky m8 XD
Alright, I'm finally home! What a long day today has been! Sheet has been uploaded.

A great day all round, albeit a little bit hectic! The delayed time of 1pm didn't reach everyone so a few showed up early, but nothing disastrous. More notice should be given next time, but there wasn't much we could do about that this time; the prizes were necessary and I didn't know until late last night that they hadn't arrived. Sorry for the confusion all!

We had a great turnout; 16 people showed up, which is phenomenal for a London event. I think the last time London had this many was the BOTS event almost two years ago! Glad to see so many new faces as well! I think I spoke to everyone during the day and I'm glad to see everyone was pretty happy, albeit cold, haha.

Those of you who registered as joined but didn't give a reason for not showing up (four of you), please refrain from entering a tournament if you aren't going to attend. I set up my Challonge sheets the night before, so having to change them so drastically on the day of the event was...less than ideal. We spent half an hour at the start of the event correcting the Challonge page, which was very difficult to do on a mobile and unfair on those who showed up, who had to wait around in the cold.

The event went well! With 16 participants, we ran two blocks of 8 players, which worked out quite nicely. There was lots of action going on in both blocks, though Block B managed to finish 20 minutes before Block A somehow, haha. Thank you @[Syphon] for your pro handling of Block B so I could handle Block A, and thanks to @[Chimera], @[Ultra] and @[Basedsamuraij] for helping out with judging throughout the event! Your help meant more to me than you know! Tongue_out

It was great to see new faces in the form of @[SprigganJoseph], @[KiddLamy], @[Jcb31012003], @[Getyourtipsout] and the entirety of the @[Balance Blader] household as well (@[BB_Mum], @[BB_Dad], @[beans-on-toast])! Thanks for coming along, and I hope you all enjoyed yourselves! Hopefully we'll be seeing you again at future tournaments as well!

And again, thank you all for coming, and see you again next time! If you haven't already, don't forget to fill out the Doodle poll for interest for the rest of March! We'll get April's up soon as well! Smile
Was a really good tournament. Highlights for me:

-Balance Blader's dad nearly making it to the finals.
-Balance Blader losing to his mum.
-Two dad's playing (balance Blader's dad and MR LT) which I don't think has ever happened. #TeamDad
-The judo guy falling on me and then moaning at us and not apologizing (not a good highlight).
-One match in my group which had like 4 double bursts.
Had a fantastic time at the tournament! Loads of new faces which was exciting. I hope everyone else had as much fun as I did and keeps coming to tournaments. Lots of exciting rounds in both blocks for sure. Props to Mana for Hosting such a big event, making sure everyone was enjoying themselves and even winning the whole thing! Looking forward to seeing how the burst scene in London develops from now on.

Hey everyone! Awesome to see people actually still play (I was a kid when it all first came out!)

I run a community group up here in Birmingham but would like to get along to something in London more established to see how it's done and see if I can get something started for kids in Birmingham.

What's the next event in the UK?
Currently gathering interest, but we'll run one in April and May for sure! Feel free to fill out our Doodle poll with any available dates! Smile

Would be great to have you, especially if it led to events over in Birmingham!
