State of the Beywiki Address

Well, maybe that title is a little much ...

With the announcement of a new Beyblade series coming this summer, the feeling here has been a lot more energetic lately. Also, BEYBLADE'S NOT DEAD! will be approaching soon and I feel it will be the best Beyblade event I've hosted so far, even though it will probably be the smallest (and most expensive Wink).

I know that updates on the wiki have been stagnant, and for that I apologize. The fact of the matter is I haven't actually had my Beyblades for ages, but my love stays alive. I am not particularly comfortable writing articles about Beyblades that I do not have access too. Thankfully, come BND! I will finally have my Beyblades back and will do my best to get a few articles written a week! Also, I will be getting all of the new items upon release so you can expect to see articles up about all of those fairly quickly.

Then there is our old friends at Ideal Collectables ... basically, an affiliation between Beywiki and Ideal is almost guaranteed. That means you can look forward to quicker reviews, great product support, and hopefully discounts for Beywiki members (I am fighting for this!).

Soon, you can expect to see a few upgrades to the graphics ... I will stick to the same colour scheme and design philosophy, but I think there is room to improve. I will also consider re-organizing the forums and making good on my original promise to make sure this site is not owned by myself alone, and appointing several members to the Beywiki.com Committee (don't call us, we'll call you).

The main page of the wiki is pretty terrible right now, so I will be revamping that along with more reviews, articles and editorials.

However, I can't do this alone. None of us can. Beywiki was designed to be a community project, and I don't feel we've been living up to the original idea. I know we are all adults with busy lives now, and we don't have the time to devote to this sort of thing like we used to. I understand that. However, together I am sure we can make this place better than OtC, better than Damashii, better than any Beyblade site that has preceded it.

We believed and Beyblade has returned. Now, let's do it justice and prepare Beyblade for a whole new generation.
I'm really excited for the whole community.

We've waited a while for Beyblade's return and now, it has finally come.

Cheers everyone. Cheers.

Congratulations are in order for all of us who held together with hope. I am just glad this revival came sooner rather than later.

Of course, there were doubts, but Bladers everywhere finally got their wish.

I'm actually surprised they brought it back so soon. Not that I'm complaining! Through all these years, we've been hoping, and it's amazing at how many people are still here to see this. This is just what the community needed because, to be honest, it was getting a little dead around here before Beyblade's revival was announced.

About the wiki, I'm not sure if I'll be able to help right away, but that will change when the summer comes around.

I'm so happy its coming back. Smile
I was always saying that it would come back sooner than most people expected it would, but even I am surprised to see it now.

Yes, it was getting dead around here ... like I said, once I get my Beyblades back, you can expect to see me starting a lot of discussions!

Glad I can count on your help.

If you need help for this, I'll be around. My major exams and competitions are pretty much over, I'm just left with one more research seminar and my AP tests.

When the new beyblades come out, I foresee even more discussions =D!!
I'd like to do the graphics myself, I already have a concept in mind. Your talent would be wasted on my simple, cute concept. :p

And yes, the new Beyblades will lead to lots of discussion! It'll be an exciting day when the new blades, shooters and stadiums arrive at my home.
I'd love to help with the wiki project but my writing skills are horrible.
There are still many ways to help! Photos and videos are just two things.
*sniff* Brad, that was beautiful, even inspiring. Even though I have my own website to manage, I'll try my best to add as much information as I have to the wiki. And let's not forget who's got the Takara pics. xD

We should do some sort of Beyblade-podcast where all the forums regulars discuss Beyblade. That'd be awesome.

If you exuse me, I'm gonna go play some Beyblade now. =D
I don't think there is enough discussion value to justify a podcast. I'm having enough trouble thinking of the programming for a one-time panel.
I'll do as much as I can to help out with this for a better Bey community.

Actually I think a podcast would be a great idea.

We could reach a lot of people that way, and who says we have to do a weekly show? I mean, after the first initial show when all of the new products launch we'll have PLENTY to talk about and I'm confident that Takara will be releasing products on a pretty regular basis.

And of course, you could always pimp BND! as well as the Beyblade 101 event. We could discuss different strategies and attacks in detail and (depending on the frequency of the show) have a custom of the week/month, explain what parts are in it and then talk about how they work together to be an effective custom.

I'm sure the show probably wouldn't be very long (Probably 20-30 minutes) at the moment since there isn't much to talk about, but if we space it out correctly (Maybe bi-weekly or monthly) it could be a hit, especially since there are probably a lot of dormant fans waiting in the wings. If we put out a podcast on iTunes and heavily advertise it here and on other places, it could be a huge success and we might even see the membership here at Beywiki start to pick up.

I don't know, I don't see the harm in trying it. Smile
I think a podcast on the strategies and combos used at BND! would be cool.

Yeah that would be awesome if someone recorded what was going on in each match at the tournament.

Then we could take the video feed and talk over it, explain what's going on in each match.

I think this is a great idea. There's no better way to teach someone than by showing them. Smile
If I can help in any way, I will gladly contribute.
I'm all for helping with building up the wiki but most likely will not get around to doing a lot on it until June after senior year's all done and through.

Let's do this.
podcasts could work but like they hardly need to be 20-30min.
it think it be much more acessible to break them up into like 4min in length max so that there would be one relvant subject per.

o btw I'mma start up those videos. stay tuned.

4 minutes? Really?

I don't see much getting talked about in four minutes.

I mean sure, 20-30 minutes might be pushing it, but I hardly think 4 minutes would be enough.
just imagine i look like that while reading the entirety of the OP
It's your sexy speechification face.

The letter "f", indefinitely.
