Solving if Hasbro's KM is Worth Your Money

So just now we found out that Hasbro is releasing the KnightMail set after an entire year of waiting. But many changes were made, so lets compare the Hasbro and TT versions to help you in deciding if you want to buy the set.

Now that we have the contents listed down lets talk about worth. All the parts that I have bolded are parts that are actually usable in gameplay.

So for Takera Tomy KM has been still viable in the rankings with TB slowly falling, 1-60 and 7-70 are good with this set introducing 7-70 but 1-60 is pretty widespread so its value is not as high here, bits wise Ball is pretty good to get here as even now the fastest way to get Ball is buying WizardArrow and Point being stuck with Leon Claw, but stuff gets interesting with Rush since it was the easiest way to buy Rush without buying the DranDagger set and the introduction of Rubber Rush boosting worth since it was only released in the 25th Anniset. With 2 good blades, 2 metal coats, 1 good new ratchet, 1 good existing ratchet, 4 good annoying to find bits, it is safe to say UX-10 is worth the money.

Now Hasbro has potentially been dumb again. KnightMail is the only viable good blade in this set. We have the metal coat of HellsHammer but not TB, which it and Ptera were replaced with a GhostCircle. Most likely due to how many GhostCircles are left in factories from poor sales. Ratchets are pretty solid in 7-70 and even the introduction of the unreleased 9-65 might actually be good probably not but we will see. And for bits they removed Rush which is kind of crazy but fair since of the WizardWand green starter. So 1 good blade, 1 metal coat, 2 good ratchets, 3 good ratchets, it sounds like it is somehow worth the 30 whole USD. But it does make sense, average starter blade is 10-12 USD so KM is worth 10USD, the metal coat boosts it another 10, Rubber Accel boosts it by a few dollars, and the other parts make the total worth it. So I would argue its worth the money

If you want a set with better parts get UX-10 but if you want a set thats local and easy to buy (not likely due to scalpars) Hasbro KM set will be good for you. Either way the outcome shouldn't matter too much and its just preference at the end of the day. As for me? I am most likely buying Hasbro due to the fact shipping for UX-10 would kill my lack of a wallet.

So basically Hasbro KM is worth its money but just barely and also from just parts. But it is also the best for none TT region bladers so we will take that I guess.

As a starter set for new Bladers, Hasbro’s set is not exactly the best way to start. You get only one good bey and still need two more for a deck, however the 2 bits here are amazing. Personally I would say buy WizardRod1-60R and PhoenixWing9-60GF if you are starting new. The combos are good and also you have a string launcher. However that totals to about 60-70 dollars so maybe not the best for everyone.

I might be buying this just because I don't have like 76% of these parts
I'll be sticking to the original.
Oh, ouch. Knight Mail was one of the ones I was hoping would be more accessible from Hasbro to get multiple copies of, but... wow. I understand removing Ptera Swing, since it had several regular releases by Hasbro, but removing Rush? Taking out 1-60 and replacing it with two single-piece ratchets? Using Ghost Circle as a filler blade, when it only just recently came out?

And on top of all that, it's an online exclusive?!

I agree. Atleast they should’ve replaced Hells with TB metal coat red. Especially since the only way to get TB is buying the dual pack with Knife Shinobi which is such a waste. Not too mad at 1-60 since its such a widespread part its not that impactful, however two O lock ratchets is disgusting and a bit disappointing. Rush being removed is pretty shocking to me but that might be a sign we will got Cobalt Drake metal coat red since it has Rush on it. Admittedly thats cope mentality but its still crazy they removed the most important bit from UX-10 which is why most people bought it by the way.

Now for it being online exclusive we have no clue if it will be. Walmart says it is but it also might not be. What makes me mad however is the fact scalpers will clean the deck set to the point no one can buy it until months after its release.

Honestly waiting one year to get a desired bey/set only for the Western version of it to just BARELY hit the worth value? Mind you worth is not always determined by how good a part is but by how hard it is to find. For example Rubber Accel being here proves that point. This product is good for a casual Blader but comp Bladers suffer some losses here since they only have one viable blade instead of two.

I can further rant about this but its overall still so shocking to me
Def a buy 4 me
Well, apparently some people think they'll release a BX one, which, if real, might include aforementioned Pteraswing and Tyrannobeat.

Info is saying October-November supposedly. Main issue however is Hasbro distribution is so disorganized and also scalpers are probably wiping such an awaited set from stock

Why is it saying it releases on new years 🥀
Even with the equal quality beys, hasbro is still cheaping out. I imagine it's more expensive to metalcoat a bey than leave it normal, therefore GhostCircle is cheaper to produce than Tyrannobeat. Also, they probably have extra stock of GhostCircle, because it's not competitive, and they put it in a 2-pack with a reprint, so it probably sold badly. it's probably also cheaper to make single-piece ratchets, because less individual components have to be made.
I get that it's just speculation and we don't know the real reason, but it's really funny to me if that was their reasoning for including Ghost Circle. Because like... I'd love to buy it, if I could find it. The most likely reason for a Hasbro release "not selling" is that their distribution sucks lol.

Anyways, from a pure price-per-part/combo standpoint, yeah $30 is a pretty good deal. But when you factor in competitive value and existing collections, ehh... it's closer to like $10-$15 for Knight Mail and $15-$20 for plastic waste. Which, if you want several copies of Knight Mail, really starts to add up.
This is also, incidentally, why I don't own a Hover Wyvern and may never own one. The price isn't an issue, the storage/disposal of the stadium is. If it at least had the regular rails instead of the molded-in bucket ones, I could justify keeping it as a fun gimmick stadium.

Honestly I hate that Hover is in a gimmick stadium and instead not with Hasbro's release of BX-10. On a marketing standpoint it would make them a lot of money. A more reasonable price for the BX-10 Hasbro Stadium as it is quite literaly tournament standard. Not to mention Hover is one of the top comp beys as of right now so it would get more people wanting to buy a stadium with already good beys. I genuinely hate the Drop Attack Stadium since it has some of the ugliest colorations I have seen in X, an outrageous price for the gimmick stadium itself when its not even Tournament Standard, and our only way to get Hover. It honestly does not help with the existing "X is P2W" mindset

I agree with u cuz instead of only releasing it in that stadium set which don’t get me wrong the stadium set it’s fun but they could have at least released the purple and pink recolor version because that would have been so cool for the hasbro KM that way we would have a deck of 3 cool and comp attackers and I’m so mad they aren’t releasing the red rush
I don't think leaving out R or the other comp parts is much of a problem. I think we keep forgetting how spoiled we are compared to Asian territories when it comes to the accessibility to parts

We have 2 cheap ways to get R, the Wizard Rod starter for 10, and the collab with Red Hulk. Asia's cheapest way to get(technically L)R is by buying Impact Drake for 25 bucks, or the Dran Dagger set for 40, and I doubt that set is still readily available.
For E, it's in an 8 dollar booster. In Asia, that's a 10 dollar Random Booster, with the *chance* of getting it.
Phoenix Wing is 8 bucks at it's cheapest, in Asia you have to bet on an RB or just buy the starter for 25.
You can get the gist of it, we're getting more bang for our buck while Asia has to break the bank to have the bare minimums.

Pretty much everything they left out you can already buy on it's own, so it's not a big deal. You're gonna be buying this for Knight Mail primarily, anyway.

All I'm trying to say is that we aren't entitled to every release being a competitive value pack. We're already getting so much and it's very clearly skewing sales so hard that they have to mix the "junk" with more incentivising beys so that stores aren't sitting on unsold stock, and factories aren't sitting on unwanted shipments.

No. When it's a semi flat it is, though. Or maybe I'm thinking of B4 rules

AK is honestly wrong with his interpretation of worn RA. TT and I think Hasbro are against such worn bits, while is unofficial organizers have rules against how worn some parts can be. Albeit some regions indie organizers are not that strict such as Hong Kong and Singaporean bladers, if I remember right, often use worn RA. However the worn RA is never meant to be in the shape of a Ball but however more flat to replicate the kind of like the old rubber MFB bit that Pegasus had.
