Buying Beyblades in Japan

Moon here. Before my trip to Japan, I was hurriedly searching for where to find Beyblades, especially new releases, but there was only really information in the Discord server. So to help out any traveling Bladers or parents with Beyblade addict children, I will construct a mini guide using this post.

For starters, if you are in a big city such as Tokyo, you are going to struggle to find the latest releases. They will more commonly be out of stock, and you will struggle to honestly find even older beys at times. Also, even if you go to a more peaceful place, like how I went to Osaka, finding Random Boosters is essentially impossible unless you go on the very day they release. Some stores in Japan also have limits on how much of a certain product you can get. Personally, I didn't see any signs on this topic, but it's still a good tip to keep in mind.

The best store to go to for a huge quantity of Beyblades at a lower price than their actual market price is Bic Camera. My personal experience in Bic Camera was amazing. They had all of the new releases besides the Random Boosters. If you cannot find a Bey there, the shelves will either say out of stock or that they will check the back for you if you ask. Personally, I was hunting down PegasusBlast, and I almost did not find it until I sucked up my fear and went to ask an employee about it, and they checked the back for me. Also, sometimes when you check the aisle, they most likely haven't restocked yet, depending on the time you go. The Bic Camera I went to used a card system, so you grab the card of the Bey you want to buy and bring it to the cash register, where they get the Bey for you. PegasusBlast's market value is 2600 yen, but Bic was selling it for 2360 yen. So Bic is a high priority.

Book-Off also had a small selection of Beyblades, including a boxed SamuraiSaber set. So if you want more popular beys, they may carry it; however, their selection isn't that big, and some locations vary on what type of products they hold. The Book-Off I went to in Osaka actually did have some Beys out of the package that you can buy; these were extra Beys from Random Boosters, but sadly, I didn't pick any up. Book-Off's Beyblades prices are only slightly lower than the market price, so they are a bit pricy.

Go to: https://beyblade.fandom.com/wiki/List_of...kara_Tomy) for general knowledge on the highest a Beyblade should cost

Kiddy Land was a store I went to so I could buy Impact Drake and Scorpion Spear. Their collection, at least in the location I went to, was not that grand. They did not even sell rubber grips or Winder L compared to the big selection in Bic Camera. Kiddy Land is also the exact market price of a Bey (this can be checked on the link above I gave).

A lot of stores also don't really sell any older niche X beys. The furthest beys I saw timeline-wise were the first wave of BX (Dran Sword, Wizard Arrow, Knight Shield, Rhino Horn, etc), but they were out of stock. A decent amount of UX was there. But the main beys I saw were the more popular beys or beys with extra accessories (string launchers or extended winder ripcord). Cobalt Dragoon, Impact Drake, all of the CX line, Garuda, Dran Sword, and Hells were the ones in stock in Bic Camera.

Toys R Us is also a good spot that I actually did not look at, but their prices are a bit deterring.

Volnutt, a blader on the server who lives in Japan, gave me a list of good spots to go for Beys

Stores that are below Market Standard Price (So cheaper than the prices from the link I gave earlier)
-Bic Camera
-Yodobashi Camera
-Yamada Denki/LABI
-Joshin

Stores that are closed or are Market Standard Price
-Toys R Us
-Kiddy Land
-Donki

Now toy sections in department stores/malls and also local toy stores can be adjacent to either list, but it truly depends on what store it is. And I don't know every toy store in Japan, so do some research on stores within walking distance from your hotel.

Used Beyblades
-Book Off/Hobby Off
-Mandarake
-Suruga-ya
-Radio Kaikan

I would add online stores, but this is a post for buying Beyblades while on a Japan trip, so I will only be talking about physical stores. Tips for parents, if you want your Beyblade fan kid to be happier and energetic during the trip or tours you do in Japan, tell them that after the tour, they can go to a store I mentioned to buy a Beyblade. Now I highly recommend that before your trip, you ask your child to go through the link I put above that constantly updates new releases, and have them choose which Beys they want to buy, so you know how much money you should bring. Also, not every Bey will be in stock, like customization sets, deck sets, random boosters, event Bey, all of those things you will struggle to find, so it is a gamble. You can actually also check the online store of some of the stores I mentioned, like Bic Camera and Toys R Us. Honestly, trust Bic Camera before any other store; Bic is truly a paradise.

Tax Free is also an option in Bic, but do know they will seal the Beyblades in plastic, so you cannot open them until you go back home. Your kid might be annoyed and sad over this, so keep this in mind just in case you have an impatient kid.

To find stores near you, I recommend using Google Maps to find toy stores near your hotel and also downloading Google Translate to communicate with workers who may not understand Japanese.

Some inputs I did in Google Translate were:
"Hello, do you have (insert Beyblade) in stock?"

This site will help find B4 stores depending on what area of Japan you are in. B4 stores occasionally have special products, but it depends on the store.

Finishing off this post with a simple have fun on your trip and I hope this mock guide helps!

I will pay for my own flights if that helps. Also, your roommate can find me in the nearest parking lot if they have any problems with that.

Anytime Frisk! If you do visit Japan, I can help give you recommendations for tour guides/good spots in Osaka. Thank you for always commenting on my posts. My posts are mainly help guides or other random things, and people rarely reply, sadly. Always makes my day to see a reply. Just know, though, Japan is a lot of walking and is super hot in the summer. Like man I my legs were going to shatter.
