The SNES is by large my FAVORITE system of all time; it just has so many classics that have just aged beautifully.

The SNES gave us:

Donkey Kong Country/Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy Kong's Quest
Final Fantasy VI
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Lufia 2
Super Metroid
Chrono Trigger

I love my 360, but it pales in comparison to Nintendo's last great console and arguably has the best set of games on one console to date.

I think I'm gonna go set up my SNES now.

Shawn and I have a PS2, N64, Gamecube, NES, and SNES hooked up to our TV. The SNES is the only one that gets any use (unless you count the PS2's usage as a DVD player).

People started looking at video games more like interactive movies than games. The simply joy of bright colours and collection of arbitrary shapes (Pac-Pellets, Rings, etc...) went by the wayside in lieu of powerful guns, eerily realistic FMV, and massive amounts of polygons.

I wish someone would remake something like an SNES game, only for the current-gen consoles.
Sort of like Megaman 9. But a full price game.
The size of the game would be unbelievable.
But instead they choose to make them go 3D, like Megaman X.

As fun as the games are, I would enjoy my 360 games more.

Oh, so do I; it's just that there are a greater number of titles on the SNES compared the 360. The 360 is a very close second, but the SNES is the console I grew up playing so yeah.

Maybe it's just my vintage, but even if I wasn't a Sony fanboy (which I am) I'd still say Sony's PlayStation was the greatest console made. IMO, it was the first successful console that didn't look just for the kids, and family yet still broke out and became mainstream. Some of the few games I still play on my PS3 that aren't for special occasions like MGS(and no, I didn't play MGS as a child, game bored the carp out of me back then), are the Crash, and Spyro games. Ten years after the fact and those jewel cased games are still the ones for me.

That said, Super Mario World, and Mario RPG are likely the games I played the most as a child.

Im definitely getting banned so this will be my only post most likely. The bias from artie and roan is........ astounding, seriously, you even stepped out and said you love 360. Tell me, you have gears series and halo series. how can you even think that warrants you enough to say its the 2nd best console ever. they keep milking halo, carp you got halo wars, halo 3 recon AND most likely halo 4. i keep telling you, they milk the carp out of a single series. and yes, brad is also biased. why choose 360 over ps3? i cant see why.

Honestly, your gears and halo vs our God of war, metal gear series, final fantasy 13 vs (you wish you were getting this game) and so much more.

Oh and my favorite topic, quoting roan on killzone 2. carp blind fanboy. Sersiously you are in denial. How are you gonna say kz2 is generic. That and oh itz too darkz are typical xbot responses to killzone 2. Come on roan. I want to see your tears when killzone 2 gets a 95 + on metacritic.

Oh, and R2 scored same as gears 2 @ IGN and littlebigplanet got game of the month and a .5 higher score than gears 2 in gameinformer. and this is 08. most likely lbp or mgs4 is taking goty 08 and how can something like killzone 2 and god of war 3 take goty09. Thats right artie, roan and brad. eat your hearts out. im sure you will be once february comes. oh i forgot youll just be in denial that killzone 2 sucks and isnt the best fps ever.

Yeah I have a PS3 but its been relegated to playing movies and that's about it. Although I did buy LittleBigPlanet today so we'll see how that goes.
