A while ago, I designed a format based on CUB called CURB, but I want to rework some aspects of it. Here is the original post.
=============================================================================
So you know how every Blader in X has a deck of three, usually one Bey for each of the three lines, CX, UX, and BX? This was how the original CUB format was made, where a blader would choose one Bey from each of the three lines and make a deck.
I, however, wanted to rework/spin this format. CURB, which is CX, UX, BX, and Remakes, or in this case, RX. A blader will need to make a bey for each of the four lines without part repetition. Also, all decks are required to have one Attack, one Stamina, one Defense, and one Balance Bey. This is to avoid spamina decks.
Basically, in battle, the Bladers will play rock, paper, scissors, and the winner gets to choose which X Line would be used first. All of it is one battle each, no matter how many points are earned. For example, if you choose BX and win with an Over Finish, then you proceed to the next Line battle, you accumulate points, and whoever has the most points wins.
If there is a tie, then bladers will engage in an MFB-style battle where they choose their stamina combos, and whichever lasts the longest, spin-wise wins. And also to clarify, you can make any line any type you want, but no overlapping.
There are a few rules, however. No Gacha beys or parts are allowed, and only Hasbro releases, excluding Remakes, are allowed due to the limited amount. There will also be a rule on what Beyblades are allowed to be in a deck together. For example, you cannot have your BX Bey be Phoenix while your UX Bey is Wizard Rod. A judge will ask to see your deck before battle, and if this format gets a bit more people interested in it, I will make an actual Deck Rule list.
Also, all launchers are allowed. MN obviously is still banned.
In these battles, while the winner of the first rock, paper, scissors chooses the first Line Battle, the opponent can select which stadium to play in. So the BX-10, Hasbro Stadium, 3 Person Stadium, Mobile Stadium, and Drop Attack are all allowed (green bucket stadium is banned for safety reasons)
TL; DR notes
- Bladers must construct a deck of four Beys from the four lines
- Each of the four beys must be a different type, no part repeating
- Judges will inspect your deck and may ask you to change parts of your deck if you have an overlap of certain overpowered Beys
- Before battle, Bladers rock, paper, scissors, the winner chooses the first “Line Battle”, the loser chooses the stadium for that battle
- All launchers and gear are allowed
- Hasbro Beys only excluding Remakes
- Four battles, one for each of the four lines. Ties will be settled by using the blader's stamina combos, and whoever spins the longest wins. This is the only time when Beys from different Lines can battle one another
There will also be a nemesis format option known as BRUC, where you construct a deck for your opponent that is meant to be bad, and they do the same thing for you
=============================================================================
So let me say what will still be the same.
CURB is a format that uses a deck of four Beys, one from each of the four X lines. CX, UX, Remakes of old beys (not legacies such as Cobalt Dragoon), which I call RX, and BX. Also, we require the four types to be incorporated into your deck. One bey, one type, no repeats at all. You can have a UX defense bey or an RX attack bey. You can rotate the types however you like, but you need one of each.
Example:
CX: DranBlast J1-60LR, Attack
UX: WizardRod 3-60H, Balance
RX: Rock Leone 7-60B, Stamina
BX: TriceraPress 9-60W, Defense
Now, the point deck system from the last post will be kept. So no Phoenix or Wizard in the same deck. Beys from the X app are banned, so no Aero Pegasus or Metal Lock Chip; however, if you use a recolor like KnightMail, then it is allowed.
Line Battles consist of four battles for each four lines, where the selected lines will fight each other. So, for example, a UX Attack type can fight a UX Stamina type. The way Line Battles start is also the same. Bladers do a round of rock, paper, scissors. The winner selects the first line to be used in battle, while the loser can select the stadium they fight in. Then in the next round, they switch roles, so on and so forth. The battles go on until the fourth round, where they calculate how many points they earned through the four battles, and the most points wins.
Remember, Line Battles only have one battle per line. If bladers tie, then the judge pulls out four cards, each turned around. They select one card that has each of the four types. If an attack card is chosen, then the Bladers' attack Beys have to fight, so a BX attack vs a UX attack is possible. Different lines never fight one another unless it's in a battle like this.
I will be introducing a new gimmick called GimmiCards. First is the Swap Card. It will be in a box full of other cards. If pulled, a blader can choose to swap one of their Line Beys with the opponent's Line Bey. So they can swap their UX Bey for the opponent's UX Bey. There will also be the Launcher Card, which, if pulled, the bladers will have to use proto launchers, unless it is a left-spin Bey, then the card is nulled for both bladers. The final card is the Team Card, which is where things get very chaotic. Bladers will need to get into a team of four and face another team of four. On a team, they select one person to battle for one line, and they give their respective lines to them. For example, if someone is chosen for UX, then they will receive the three UX beys from their three other team mates.
This format is not meant for general competitive play, but is an entertaining proposal for a format. It is just meant to have fun.
Personally, my deck would be:
CX: PegasusBlast S3-60B, Stamina
UX: SamuraiSaber 9-60UN, Defense
RX: VictoryValtryek 1-60LR, Attack
BX: TriceraPress 7-60H, Balance
Now for the more chaotic format, BRUC.
BRUC follows the same ruleset as CURB; however, you make a deck for your opponent. You need to make the worst deck to try and screw over your opponent as much as possible. GimmiCards are still here, too, so you technically can gamble by trying to get the Swap Card and get a combo you made that is good. BRUC has way more gambling than CURB, since you go in blind.
My BRUC deck would be,
BX: Thanos 2-70TP, Balance
RX: Lightning L-Drago 0-80Q, Attack
UX: GhostCircle 3-85DB, Stamina
CX: WizardDark RM-85S, Defense
The biggest trash ever. The Balance one might actually be good, but I would be shocked if it was.
Anyway, I may edit this more. Please talk about your decks you would make for both formats, or ask any questions you have. This format is a really fun one that anyone can enjoy.
