I've given in... I had to do it! I don't usually post here much, but today an exciting thing happened.
I decided that there really was no other way to actually buy an original Takara Storm Pegasis without risking it taking a month to come and/or getting lost, so I gave in and bought the only local one available from Gossip Toys on Amazon. I don't even want to say what the price was...
No, I'm not a fanboy of Gingka or anything; he's not that great of a character. I hardly watch the show anymore anyway, and if I were to, I would rather watch the original series.
I just think the bey itself is fantastic... since the beginning of MFB, the Pegasis metal system wheel has proven itself to be one of the greatest attack wheels of its time along with Sagittario and of course Quetzalcoatl, as well as to me one of the most aesthetically pleasing (Aaannd now you know why I have my avatar, lol). However, it was not until Storm was released that Pegasis truly became deadly; that of course being due to RF, which as we know revolutionized the attack meta and is arguably the best all-around attack bottom, but that bit is obvious. In fact, at one time, MF Pegasis 145RF was a cliche... at least without Libra in the mix.
...
*Ahem* Okay, alright, I'm not here to give a history lesson about the Pegasis metal wheel, I'm here to give a history lesson about it's successor!
Now before I go into detail, I'd first like to add some backstory to all of this. Yes, Storm Pegasis was my first true bey; and yes, it was intentional. Lucky for me, I had been wise enough to look up who the main character's bey was, because I knew that it would become very hard to get eventually... ESPECIALLY in this day and age, if you want a true Takara model. Which is why I'm in this situation now... lesson of course being: buy your Pegasis while you can, kids! *Ahem* But the real point here, is that the one I first bought was a regular Hasbro model, complete with incorrect thunder bolt stickers. However, this one being my first... as you might think, it is still very special to me. I still remember many years ago, bringing it to a place where a large lot of younger kids were blading, challenging them of course, and watching as each of them got rekt by Pegasis! ... Eh. It was a fun time... Not to mention afterwards I became known as "The REAL Gingka" at that place. ...Okay, maybe that was a bit strange... STILL.
I also remember using it a ToysRUs tournament and actually defeating someone who was using a Hell Kerbecs.
That was rather surprising, because at that point in time, Storm Pegasis was becoming rather outdated. I guess you literally CAN'T beat the classics! ... At least not in Limited Format maybe (sometimes!)! XD But what I am really trying to point out here, is that at the time of its release, and perhaps even now, Storm Pegasis has always been a fantastic bey to play around with. While the metal system Pegasis had power and competitive pedigree, Storm had better controllability and less recoil, making it very good to practice with, especially since it still was able to beat most of everything from the Metal Fusion era. Yes, it may be true that is indeed terribly light and powerless against [insert any defense type with MF/MF-H and RS/RSF/RB], it will surprise you, as it has throughout my time, and is without a doubt one of the best beys to just have a fun time with... which is why now, with my original Storm Pegasis in retirement (its RF is nearly worn down to the plastic), I've long needed a replacement. A genuine TT model. Which is why I ordered this, as you can see. Though the light blue beylauncher is also very nice... and useful. *Cough* Sorry, I suppose now it is time for me to stop rambling, I just thought it would be for the better if I explained myself and the reasons for buying such a bey a bit more. Hopefully, it does not go to waste... oh well. If I can, I will try to make an unboxing video, though I haven't done one before. If I do, I'll be sure to send the link; something like this is very rare and hard to find now, and I know that many indeed would like to see it. So to anyone who may reading this, please have a nice day, and enjoy your time here! Sorry again for the long post.
Nothing to see here, just waiting for my death -_-
