I think I would have been a bigger Pokemon fan if it weren't for the fact that I never "caught 'em all" back in Red and Blue. I couldn't justify buying Gold and Silver unless I properly mastered R/B!!

How ironic is it that a motto/mindset designed to create rampant consumerism prevented me from blowing more money on the series.

Maybe I'm out of the loop, but if I'm correct, that is one of the few things that made pokemon worth watching, however many years ago when the show first dawned.

The video games and TCG are great though.

Other than a few minor exceptions I am inclined to agree I mean I LOVE Piplup, Lucario, and Gallade, but the likes of Roserade and Ambipom or even Gliscor I think are quite hideous.. There are some nice ones, but there are a lot of uglier ones this time around I find.
