My chess.com account was hacked and used for nefarious purposes. I have been left with no choice but to close my account on that site. Anyone claiming that I have said/done anything to them on that site is lying and should be made aware that it was not a representation of me.

Watch and be happy mate

This post has been replaced. Here's a quote that really sums up my reason for being here.
“There is magic in long-distance friendships. They let you relate to other human beings in a way that goes beyond being physically together and is often more profound.”

Anyone here got other collector oriented hobbies?

I've been collecting Hot Wheels since 2018, and now am sitting on maybe $500 worth of cars, track, and accessories. I've got a small collection in my closet with the rest being at my parent's house...and it's a literal wall. Complete Premium sets, anniversary sets, 5-packs, etc.

The only set I got my eyes on this year is the AcceleRacers set. When I saw the reveal at the collector's convention this year, I was hyped. Seeing Hollowback, Iridium, Slingshot, RD-09, and Reverb(now called "Revert" thanks to community led renaming)back in their full glory just put a smile on my face.

Slingshot was extra special, since it NEVER got a Teku release during AcceleRacers' initial run in 2005, despite the car being in the first movie, Ignition.

so i need a explanation to my shower thought so if there is a game where the loser wins that makes the loser the winner right? so if he is the winner than should he be the loser?
but if he becomes the loser then he will be the winner. can someone chat gpt this because i guarantee that if you try to think with just your brain then you will have a long brain cramp trust me i tried

Yeah, yeah, something something Beyblade X chapter, but it has come to my attention a new hobby series from bandai has started called Bariba Reverse. Rather than product by product gimmicks there's more of a focus on the overall mechanics right now, which I appreciate. It's kind of like a combination between Bakutech (the highest of praises) and some series from the 2000s I'm forgetting the name of. Only time will tell if this lasts more than a fiscal year, though off rip a Corocoro manga only with no anime is usually a bad sign.

I don't actually watch anime too often because manga is more convenient for my schedule, but Daemons of the Shadow Realm is definitely quite good. It's got fun action, intriguing mystery, centering on a conflict between multiple sides with none of them being definitively morally right or wrong (at least in comparison with each other). For those in the know, it definitely reminds me of something like Shin Megami Tensei (I'd say IV specifically here).

Including some basic theorycrafting here for personal later reference

Spoiler (Click to View)

So the Kagemori Clan and Higashi Village are at obvious odds, with neither being trustworthy as a definitive ally, while our protagonist can only really trust himself and his 2 closest compatriots. Given how obvious this setup is, I really don't know why some people have gone beyond just theorycrafting and are trying to pick a side when neither is made to be picked, but I digress.

We're getting good Kagemori insight right now, but if you don't just take it at face value and still remember the overall situation, the setup here hasn't changed. To start, Kagemori apparently can't even trust itself, with Jin implying that there are at least 2 separate factions within the clan. And regarding the attack on the village, they really just took out 99% innocent civilians, then ended up backing off without capturing Yuru anyway. Given that Granny and Dera immediately went into panic mode and got straight to fighting back in broad daylight without regard for secrecy, if any other civilians were actually in on it, they totally would've gone mask off. This also leads to 2 additional discussions.

Higashi Village seemingly has 0 Daemon-wielding combatants by episode 1. There's no way the village has the resources to send assassins after Yuru's family. If there were other able-bodied individuals, they would've been contacted for help by now, given that Dera got Hana involved, whose family is also connected to Higashi. This is supported by the fact that after Higashi lost Asa, they mainly focused on hiding Yuru to stop the Kagemori from getting both twins. They're on the defensive, not offensive.

The second point is that the Kagemori are definitely also participating in brainwashing and manipulation. It's basically confirmed that there's no way every non-child in Higashi was in on it (like, Danji too? Really?), so that defense is gone. There's no reason to spare the kids other than to convince the Kagemori that they still have some form of moral compass, masking what they're doing is abhorrent and maybe amoral at the absolute best (if you really stretch it).

I haven't covered it here yet since it's made obvious by now, but we already know the Higashi village was also participating in some crazy brainwashing. Hiding the village from modern society, which would set back everyone there developmentally at absolute best, and deceiving Yuru with the imposter Asa. This whole write-up isn't to say the Kagemori are better or worse, just to inject some obvious perspective into basic speculation.
