I'd never have to worry, if the council maintained the drains outside our house. In the storm before the last WA Cyclone (that didn't actually hit me), I had to go out, while sick, in the rain, and use a hoe to unblock the drains to prevent our neighbours property from flooding (they were out). We phoned the council, but nothing's happened.
Our whole house flooded in that storm last year, which was just wonderful. All the drains link to one master drain, so if that gets blocked or overloaded, then yeah, we flood. We're on the slope of a hill, quite well inland. This shouldn't happen. But yeah, thanks council.

I don't think that would accomplish much outside of just letting the Media forum rot, but I believe there should be a huge consolidation in that forum. There's a lot of redundancies, like for instance, on the first page alone there is 5 Pokemon threads:
