i cant give the db manga an s tier. its just has too many flaws. s tier means its perfect or close to perfect. and im not hating on the manga i like both.
Well its my tier list idc if the season has many flaws in it the important thing for me is the enjoyment if you dont agree then that your problem idc.
sure ilya couldnt do anything in the manga but mr.Morita didnt make her a rashad simp rambling around just for HAo Is CoOl GUYs and actually make her important, ranzo placement in the manga isnt as good as the anime yeah but at least he's existance is important for bell development, basara in manga they make him more impactful by making his development has a tie in connection to bell, do bell abd belial need a bond no imo the are already asthablished to have a great bond.
To me the anime is a complete dumpster fire of garbage, the manga flaws on pacing to me apply really with gears and that's it.
Anime VS Manga:
-> Ilya's role in the manga is a cameo and a flashback which they weren't used sure, but the fact the anime uses them and does NOTHING with the character is honestly way worse to me. You have the chance to actually develop and just do the utmost failure to just have it be reduced to a QuadDrive advertisement.
-> Payne being anime only and having one of the worst set ups and an extremely rushed arc to not even be there at the end really is so extremely dissapotining.
-> Rashad is a complete joke and the anime and feels extremely one-dimensional, like almost all characters in the anime they feel very 1 dimensional. Rashad is a Valt fanboy that takes up too long, the reasoning for how he wanted Raphael makes way more sense in the manga than it does in the anime. The dynamic of Bell and Rashad has so much more depth in the story that I don't know how the anime fumbled so badly in writing. The manga does develop relationships like Basara to Bell and Basara to Rashad, and Bell to Rashad and none are rushed it is not true at all to say.
-> Legends for Free and Shu, feel absolutely like why are they there? Shu especially to debut and lose and never return except right around Ultimate was like???? Free too extremely unmemorable in the season. Lui was fine for set up from start to end didn't feel as forced for why he was there.
-> The whole challenging the world thing they set up as a demon king whatever feels dropped so quickly and so many of the arcs feel like ok now this thing, now this thing, now they want to do a tournament to battle rashad -> random kid that will be forgtten who hates rashad appears -> now they do a tournament to have rashad like beyblade? (Skyship arc possible for worst arc in burst)
-> Basara goes through the same arc for both and they are both done well, Basara especially ties to an emotional arc with Bell that makes Bell really question himself and gives a backstory to his character. The anime decides to shove this last minute like we are expected to care at all when I don't really know what they were thinking.
> Ranzo and Hannah's not being as prevalent in the manga is fine for the reason that story in DB(Manga) focuses more on Bell and Rashad and clashing with the themes of a hero and a villain.
> Valt having being reduced during that mini arc to being ignorant on Savior breaking was poorly executed and awful setting up Ultimate Valkyrie, I also think narratively Ultimate served more of a purpose in the manga than the anime. I don't care if anyone says "but it BATTLED ONCE", Bell and Rashad finishes up and the final hurdle is Valt going to his maximum potential and we see the support of all his old friends. The generational theme it had was really good to see, I also do not care that Valkyrie lost I care that they could've set up more tension at the end with the manga finale but doesn't detract from me.
-> The anime's world feels extremely hollowed with the past characters and events feeling almost non existent, Valt gets his champion status back from Aiga and it is never seen, manga does the same thing with Rashad at first place.
-> Visual presentation in the anime also is extremely subpar to previous seasons, aside from battle CGI character animation and art goes from extremely inconsistent to poor at times.
The anime to me is a 3/10, extremely awful even talking to people they say the same just for the battles don't really care for the show, the manga despite flaws excells way better at storytelling and doesn't have anything to take it away. The manga does get an S because tells an extremely good story with Bell that has good build up and overall was great to see.
