The whole point is that this would be a different version of the story we got. Gwyn wouldn't feature in it. There's nothing narratively impossible about adjusting the story in that way.
While you’re at it make Kyle the main villain. You can’t just make any remotely interesting character important otherwise there’d be way to much. Writing out Gwyn and making the main villain focused too much on his own insecurities honestly just seems like a bad idea all together because then there’s going to be this awkward transition between when he turns good from bad (which is why in these kind of shows the mv gets killed).
