Random Beyblade Anime and Manga Thoughts

That would mean that Shu only trained Lain for a week or 2. Remember Lain started to get hostile near the end of their training and left. He was never hostile the entire time.

He was hostile from the beginning. When you look at the first battle Shu saw him in, he was very hostile.
As you can see in the battle form the video above Lain was still using Uranus however hes very hostile and has a flare already. After that as Shu says he went onto create Vex and then left. This has to be near the end of their training. Considering Free has a Sparking launcher with no sparks, he hasn't mastered the launcher yet. Meaning this is at the start of the Surge era. If the training ended at the start of Surge, most of the training took place near the end of Rise.
You can clearly see he has a flare though

That's because Free was most likely using Geist Fafnir. When you look at the point in the episode where Shu is using his launcher, it's a sparking launcher. You can even see the sparks coming out.
We've already gone over the fact that he developed a flare after trying to get stronger to get Shu's approval
What would happen if Lane consumed alot of flare

Free would have repaired Geist I guess
the whole they use a sparking bey or lane has first Uranus doesn't implied that lane was train specifically in the sparking era. he could have been training by the end of gt. theirs examples of a system already existing prior by just didn't explod in popularity both phi and hearts are the proof they had both Phoenix and hades cho z vey way back as little kids. now they anime can't really show those things for sparking due to the length but if we use the manga valt made brave prior sparking when he went to Gwyn to help with that . so lane being train by shu during the end gt is not out of the question at all
It isn’t confirmed that he was using Geist Fafnir. Fafnir also wasn’t seen or referred to by its full name. This was done intentionally because the Fafnir he was using is up to interpretation. All we know is that it isn’t Drain or Mirage Fafnir.

Shu used a sparking launcher during their very first training session and sparks came out.
Im still wondering something could Free have possibly fixed Geist fafnir?
I don't get how this is so hard to believe. After battling Free Lain went on to create Lucius and leave. During the Free battle in the anime Free is using Geist, this means this is early Surge before BC Sol. We know the timer leading up to BC Sol was like a week, and Shu didn't train Lain for barely a week. This means this is the end of training. Meaning that BEFORE early Surge was the start and middle of the training. before early Surge is no Surge, since early Surge is the start of Surge, that's why its called early Surge. Meaning Lain started training under Shu near the end of Rise.
I feel like Free may have used a GT Fafnir

It isn’t confirmed he’s using Geist it’s up to interpretation which is why the bey is never seen nor mentioned. Not denying your theory or contributing to the debate just saying.

Free used a sparking launcher with Geist. If sparks come out isn't reliant on the bey. The manga shows its a certainty way that you launch the bey.
shu using a sparking launcher isn't a problem again both phi and hearts had cho z bey prior cho z itself
Shu still had Cho-Z Spriggan. Even tho he used a Sparking launcher
I don’t think it’s actually possible to determine when Shu started training Lane because at the end of the gt manga Valt immediately invents the sparking system in a special chapter. That being said, we don’t know when the launchers came along.
