He's only trying to resurrect the forbidden bey that had its power sealed off so it didn't kill anyone, and also he's just a hostile guy in general, not to mention

He fake killed his Dad and scarred Gingka for life, his Dad survived due to Phoenix coming out of nowhere and saving him last minute but the damage had been done and Gingka had to escape before he was hurt too so he didn't know about the survival until years later.
