Death's attack mode looks sucks.
Defense looks good, if the CW isn't 'outer' from the MW.....

Why the hell are these images out already ... TAKARA-TOMY publishing them so early is very weird since they are usually so secretive ...

Everything looks really good though, but the original Quetzalcoatl Face is better in my opinion, and I do not understand why it had to be changed so much. All other Faces were only slightly modified during the transition to 4D, never something so drastic.


Also, to stop a very bad habit before it actually becomes a habit : there is no such thing as "the upper MW", the actual name is Metal Frame, so use it.

The Quetzalcoatl Face from the Silver Prize version is not much different from this one. The biggest difference being that there's more detail and the color, obviously, differs heavily.

i agree with u on that the original quetz face looked much cooler

imo the new death quetz face looks like the silver quetzalcoatl face but it has color

It looks just like a Hell's Angels logo or something.

The two Face designs are still highly different.

The new one really, really isn't that different. They added a fang and moved the location of the feathers slightly. And, the Hell's Angels logo is a human skull with large angel wings, not a dragon-esque snake head with feathers on it.

As much as I dislike disagreeing on such easily opinion-oriented things, I simply cannot find it possible that you actually see such a difference, unless you are going by skewed memory. Perhaps you should do what I have done, and line the things up next to one another and examine them closely.

Throw a Hell's Angels logo in there, too, just for good measure.

Really not a gigantic difference aside from color. And, the color, I imagine, is intended to fit with the darker overall motif going on with it, possibly trying to live up to the MW's name, "Death".

This thing is the ugliest beyblade I have seem in a long time , it better have some great parts as I don't even want to look at it. RDF seems cool and the gap seems to have shrunk so at least there are some positives.

There isn't a huge difference design-wise, but they decided to have 'fun' and add a bunch of needless lighting effects on it, and a patterned background as well. Hopefully that's just the Face Sticker, though.

It's arbitrary details like this and all of the 'realistic' wing and scale motifs on the Death Wheel that have really been turning me off from the design of many Beyblades recently (Big Bang Pegasis, L Drago Destroy, Vari Ares, etc). They don't know what "subtle" or "elegant" means anymore. Doesn't really make sense since there are no tattooed faces anymore except for Random Boosters.

I personally love the face design it looks so intricate.

It definitely is a sticker. If it's tattoed on, I do not think they have the ability(or want to expend the resources) to add that much photoshop to a tattoo stamp.

As for your detail complaint, I feel quite the opposite in most cases - I actually like that they're making Beyblades more visually representative without sacrificing their functionality(in most cases). Although, of the cases you provided, VariAres and DQ are the only ones I'm super fond of.

Don't get me wrong, I love the simply-styled Beyblades, too - or Beyblades that let the CW/stickers do the talking(Such as Beat Lynx). But, I appreciate detail, when offered it, too.

To each their own, of course. I just like more ornate things, I guess, than you do.

I have vectored both Quetzalcoatl Faces and made them into big wallpapers that are hosted on my other site, Beyblade Spirit. I looked at those bigger images of the Faces and compared them with the new Quetzalcoatl Face : they are quite different.

The comparison to the Hell's Angels' logo did not have to be taken so boldly, it obviously has the same style, I never wrote that they were the same.

The differences, though, are not so major - at least to me. It is overall still the same perspective, and the change isn't nearly as big as the one made to Leo, which tacked an oddly-proportioned and positioned paw/leg onto it. So, I suppose that is the scale I was using.

That clear wheel is juicy :] Attack mode looks so strange...It's like they shouldn't fit together or something.
Defense mode looks hella awesome though Smile I might wait a bit to buy this bey...Just see how it goes and stuff.

Whether Death is useless or not will really be determined by its weight. If Death is as heavy as it looks, because lets face it it looks pretty beast, it will have great smash with little recoil. I bet that wheel will have a great amount of attacking power and what I'll be focusing on when it arrives.

I'm sure I've agreed with you before on this but I'm going to agree again. It seems that the designs are just way too literal and in your face in terms of motifs.

I actually disagree.

4D is about different material, divided Wheel, dynamic drive, and deep custom.

It just makes sense to put a complicated design on a complicated part.

I think it'd be odd if a Metal Wheel like Big Bang Pegasis, with all of it's modes, had a simple face design, as an example.

Death is one odd metal wheel. But there are lots of decoration in it. it looks gorgous to me.

after counting on Blitz Unicorno, in my opinion, Death Quetzalcoatl 125RDF is one of the beyblades which I think is really what a beyblade should be, I mean fancy designs should be what a beyblade be about. Much better than the earlier beys.

BTW, can anyone tell me why would a venus God beyblade have a snake as its beast?

Quetzalcoatl is an Aztec God of Knowledge, among several other things. Quetzalcoatl was also depicted as having a human form, in addition to the Winged Serpent form.

The instances in which he was pinned as representing Death are few and far between, compared to most of his other attributes. He was also coined for ressurrection a few times, iirc.

It's strange how those two photos leaked out but not the RDF yet (Besides the digital drawing).... Are some design fixes being done or something before it is officially released?
