Just nickname a low level norm pokemon the name of the pokemon you want, then when in trade, offer that pokémon first and when they reject it, switch to the pokemon you'll offer for it. Sometimes it may backfire because some people may neglect to read the nickname or may speak a different language and not understand.

They are random numbers given to a Pokemon in each stat. They are capable of increasing a stat of your Pokemon. The highest an IV is 31, which is considered to be 1 IV. If all of the stats (HP, Attack, Speed, etc.) had 31 IVs, it'd be known as a 6IV Pokemon. IVs do more than that though

Check it’s EV’s IV’s and stats, and see if they are too high for a level seven metapod. Or just leave it in Pokémon home until the next hack sweep

I checked the stats and they are overall "decent". I am pretty sure it is genuine.

I have been spamming surprise trade almost endlessly today. I have picked up a shiny Magikarp and a G-max Orbeetle.

Magikarp is level 13 and every stat is "no good". I am guessing that it was tossed because of this. However, I am wondering if there is a way to save it. I would really like a strong shiny Magikarp.

Honestly I would keep the shiny magikarp for now, then find someone with a random magikarp, that is a different language and breed it with the opposite gender magikarp, the butterfree I got from breeding multiple times has every stat except 1 at best, and I guess the shiny charm would help too, honestly I would love to have the online membership but I can't, but if you get the magikarp to level 100 and get some bottle caps you could put it through hypertraining, but also before hypertraining give it all your stat raising feathers and send it to the the training things from the poke jobs
