The anime is all connected though. This can be seen in the Sun and Moon anime, specifically the episode involving Misty and Brock (or episodes?), so he actually doesn’t...?

It is all connected but he just doesn't. Keep em young for younger audiences, and older fans might feel like a kid again watching young Ash. Anime logic, gotta deal with it.

I watched basically every episode of gen 5, a whole lot of gen 4, some of 2 and 3, and a bit more of 1. But in my opinion the anime got worse around X and Y. I got through the beginning, it had its ups and downs, but it got worse right around the middle. I watched sun and moon when it was on but it was never that good and I couldn’t stand the theme song. I’m not sure how I’m feeling about journeys yet.
I also watched most of the movies, they were decent.

Does anybody else find Goh annoying. I like him as a character but I think he is a little bit over confident and is always bragging about what he catches. I would hate if Ash leaves the Pokémon series and turns into a cameo or side character in Pokémon. Hopefully it’s not like Valt Aoi leaving from the protagonist position.

I hate when someone's about to catch a pokemon and Goh steals the catch away from them.
