Performance Tip/Driver - Reboot

If you want to add a combo at all then I guess sX_Rb should be there
(Sep. 26, 2017  6:09 AM)MonoDragon Wrote: Reboot is a Performance Tip released as part of the Burst System. It debuted with the release of the B-73 Starter God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot on March 18th, 2017.

==Description==
Reboot is a plastic flat tipped Performance Tip that features an automatic tip change gimmick, akin to Metal Fight Beyblade's Final Drive, with a round tip like a smaller Accel and an eight pointed star tip like an upsized Jaggy.

Early in battle, the centripetal force of the Beyblade's spin will force two spring loaded tabs outward which will in turn force the round tip out. As the tip's diameter is smaller than Blow's, the resulting movement pattern is only mildly aggressive, having trouble reaching the Tornado Ridge. While a small diameter would imply ease of control, the height of the tip means that a Reboot becomes easily destabilized like Blow in this state

Later in battle, the drop in centripetal force will allow the tabs to retract along with the round tip, creating contact with the wider, Jaggy style tip. In theory this tip change is meant to create a last minute burst of attack power, but in practice the low spin velocity will make poor hits and reduce stamina when it is most important.

While poor in attack potential, Reboot has potential in Staller combinations as the tip change will keep a Beyblade away from the center for longer periods of time, allowing Reboot to act as a counter against stationary combinations that rely on weak launches.

However, Reboot has a history of being "sticky" where the tips do not transition properly, sometimes the center tip stays extended for the entire battle, retracts too late into the battle or failing to extend at all. It is recommended to use Reboot heavily in order to make the mechanism action smooth.

==Overall==
Reboot suffers from slow speeds and lower than average stamina compared to other plastic flat Performance Tips, which makes this Tip outclassed by Accel and Zephyr for Attack/Stamina combinations. While Reboot can be used for Staller combinations, such usefulness is niche and Accel and Zephyr can perform comparably or better. Reboot is further hampered by the commonly "sticky" action which hampers its gimmick. As such, Reboot is recommended for collection purposes only.

==Differences in the Hasbro Release==
Hasbro's release of Reboot switches tips much more quickly, akin to Takara Tomy's release of Ultimate Reboot, meaning that spin velocity will be greater and will create stronger impacts when the change occurs. However, Hasbro's release of Reboot still suffers from slow starting speeds which severely hampers attack potential. As such, Hasbro's Reboot is recommended for collection purposes only.

==Product List==
==Takara Tomy==
  • B-73 God Valkyrie 6Vortex Reboot (translucent blue)
  • B-00 Premium Set (translucent purple)
==Hasbro==
  • Star Storm Battle Set - Genesis Valtryek V3 6Vortex Reboot (blue)
  • Genesis Valtryek V3 6Vortex Reboot (orange)
==Trivia==
  • Unlike in real life, the Anime's rendition of Reboot is shown to be able to switch between tips on the Blader's command.
The Hasbro version should be good for practice if its your first time battling. It is easily controllable and it can gain attack power as its spin has dropped, making it unable to self KO or stall.

If you ask me. Reboot works best if it changes early....

Also I hope they release a tip that's the reverse of reboot ... meaning it's aggressive at launch then as the stamina goes down it changes to a sharper tip to converse spin power ..

I think that'll be awesome. What do you all think?
(Let me know if this doesn't belong here... let me know where I should post this)

I mean, there is Final Survive (FConfused) in Metal Fight's L-Drago Destructor, which basically the same thing as you just described, but yeah. It would be a cool concept in Burst.
The way I see it, Reboot has a fun gimmick, BUT, just like previous iterations of said gimmick - FinalGrinrive from Metal Fight, Tornado Change Core from the Heavy Metal System, and Customize Clutch Base from the Plastic era - it just ain't practical...at all. It's fun (and I LOVE Dranzer V2, it's one of my favorite plastic blades despite being pretty overrated), but not practical. I won't go as far to say that it's useless, but it ain't practical. Probably works best with heavy parts to maximize the RPM and perhaps maximize the length of time the tip is extended.
I have just got hasbros reboot and i noticed by the time it retracts it can't gain momentum. is it just sticking?

also can someone test if the weight of the combo effects retract time. like time V.T.Rb and compare it to the time for MGCgZ.8B.Rb to see if the retract time changes.
Would the hasbro ver be good at anti mobile?

From by experience (keep in mind it is only about two days worth) I would say no. slow to gain speed and if it gets knocked off balance goodbye movement. Also it retracts too late for a second wind momentum boost.

Ok thanks for the advice
This looks like a performance tip that can perform well above most attack type performance tips. For example, if the opponent is using a high speed attack type performance tip, using the reboot performance tip will throw itself into mobile stamina mode, hence the thin performance tip. When both beyblades that battle each other lose a good amount of stamina, let’s say, the high speed opponent has wasted a good amount of stamina while the reboot performance tip of your bey is still in its mobile stamina mode, the high speed opponent will be too slow to deal any good hits while the reboot performance tip does the work by shifting into high speed attack mode to let down high attack power on the already slower opponent. I can understand that Tomy and Hasbro don’t want the reboot to constantly drive around the tornado ridge so they figured this gimmick out pretty easily, knowing that the high speed mode won’t fly and stick into the tornado ridge at a low enough speed.
Knowing this, Reboot won’t do any good against stamina and defence types.

Even though it is good in countering most attack types, it won’t do any good against high stamina attack types.
