NFL Football

Artie's team won 3 years after he posted this thread.

Does this mean the Flyers win the Stanley Cup next year?
Maybe, nobody's in their way right now...
I will pull for the Buccaneers next year. If there is any justice, Josh Freeman will get the respect he deserves. If not, there's always the lockout. To the UFL!

I think I'm officially done with football.
Yes! The Packers beat the Steelers! 31-25. The Steelers had a chance but then Green Bay intercepted the ball!
For anyone who thinks Brady is overrated must be clueless. (Whoa, Megablader9, what a coincidence) Look, I'm not saying Brady is the best QB of all time. Because Tom Brady really isn't. But don't go on babbling like as if Brady is only a decent player.

Brady still is clutch...... 2007, Colts 20, Patriots 10. The colts almost had this wrapped, but Brady drove down field, got the TD, made it 20-17. Then, after a defensive stop (I think), Brady got another TD, to win, 20-24.

2007, Week 17, Patriots 16, Giants 28. Brady drove down field multiple times to get TD's, and got a Two Point conversion as well, resulting in the perfect 16-0 season. (I know, 18-1)

Yeah, Patriots pretty much blew out every other team they played other than those two, with the exception of the (Yes, I'll admit it's lucky) lucky Ravens game.
2008 - OUT FOR THE WHOLE YEAR

2009 - Week 1, Bills vs a rusty Tom Brady, who still lead his team to victory, with 12 straight points. (Failed 2 pointers, but they still won)

2009-2010 was a pretty bad year.....

2010 - Week... I forgot, but the Ravens game. Trailing, by... I forgot, I know that Tom Brady made a game winning comeback...

Yes, the Pats didn't really put themselves in the position to be clutch anyway...

Anyway, Tom Brady's receivers... hmmm... They pretty much all sucked before or after they went to the Pats... that proves that Brady is making them good. Peyton Manning.... slightly overrated if you ask me. Brady choked in the playoffs 5 or 6 times. Peyton Manning choked 10 times, meaning he choked more than he won. Yes. All Peyton does is get the stats and chokes in the playoffs to the Chargers or something. (It happened like 3 times, and a lot in the regular season.) Plus, when Manning was put in a position where his star players were gone, he threw like over 11 interceptions within 3 games. Brady, on the other hand, finds success with lower class players, besides Randy Moss. I mean come on, Wes Welker wasn't really that effective in Miami. Eli Manning? He would've lost that Super Bowl if the patriots defense wasn't to old to tackle him. Plus, he throws WAY TOO many picks, along with Jay Cutler.

When Bill Belichick was with the Browns, he had coaching woes, so.....

Plus Big Ben is not a real QB. I doubt he reads the playbook, because all he does is scramble around like a drunker and heaves that thing in the "ayer". Also, all you have to do is blind his right side, and he'll throw picks. You saw that Jets game, the conference championship. Big Ben threw a pick when he scrambled towards the left, while on that gutsy third down play, he threw towards his right, as to why he threw a completed, first down pass.

So yeah, Peyton Manning is the definition of choke. Big Ben choked in 07, and in the super bowl where he threw TWO INTERCEPTIONS AND FAILED TO BE CLUTCH.

Plus Phillip Rivers is overrated. He plays awful in his first five games, then he plays good, then he chokes after he wins the colts, if he has the chance to play them.

I will call Aaron Rodgers a better QB then Big Ben. Aaron Rodgers can run, while still retaining the mechanics a QB is supposed to have.

Yeah, the Brady injury, which ruined the patriots, causing them to lose to teams that they could easily win, causing them to fail to make the playoffs, causing the Steelers to be lucky and not play the Pats with Tom Brady who knows how to blow them out, causing a year wasted of Brady, causing him to get older... yikes, that's not too good. By the way, Aaron Rodgers has his own specialized helmet... (that might not count..)

So yeah, I know, the Bills and Lions are good teams, they just failed to win those close games that could've improved their record. And the Patriots believe it or not had a better record than they really played, but they are only getting better with that improving defense... 16-0 BABY.

Plus the pats had a 18 yard run play, the longest running play the steelers had given up.

No, the pass fell incomplete on 4th down. At the beginning of the play, Mike Wallack was kicked 8 yards past the line of scrimmage, and thwacked upside the head in mid-air. 2 penalties that the ref "missed" Like I said. The UFL does not miss those calls. That's why I watch it.
NO!!!! The Packers won. Aaron Rodgers was just lucky.... that throw by the Steelers was so dumb! Seriously? That guy had to intercept it. That field goal at the end ruined everything!!!!
No, refs were missing calls all night. Here's something. The refs get paid based on how much revenue that particular game gets. Now, what's the better story? The #6 seed clawing their way to the SB, and winning, or the Steelers getting ring no. 7? Well, let's just say, those refs got paid, even if it meant cheating.

Read my Tom Brady rants. They will definitely change all Tom Brady fans. He's just an overrated golden boy. Have you noticed that he's gone "one-and-done" for 2 years straight, and haven't won a Super Bolw in 7 years? The best? Nah, that's not Brady. Honestly, I'd still pick Ben on 4th down. But, I see Josh Freeman, Sam Bradford, Jay Cutler, and a lot of younger and less established guys that will win a few rings soon. Namely the Lions and Bucs. 3-13 to 10-6? Let's see..12-4 next year. the Lions will get 2nd in the NFC North, and the Bears will get a 2nd chance. Oh yeah, have you noticed that the last 3 QB rule changes benefited Brady the most in "clutch" situations? No hitting in the legs. No touching the helmet. "Tuck Rule". Whoops, Brady just got 3 wins!
Why, I did! In fact, I noticed that you mentioned none of his recent failures, unless you brushed it off with a "it was a bad year".

In the 2010-2011 Divisional game, Belichick benched Welker suddenly, causing the players to change their gameplan, causing Brady to throw a pick, which was pretty rare that season. Maybe if Belichick didn't do that, they would've been normal and kick some butt.

Well, in the 2009-2010 season, Brady came back from a knee injury, and still played pretty decent as to why he was comeback player of the year. I know, he wasn't good in that Ravens playoff game, but the defense was pitiful in that game anyway.

2008-2009- Brady was out the whole year, we all know.

In the 2007-2008 Super Bowl, Brady managed to get a TD. It was up to our defense, which failed to stop Brandon Jacobs (I think he was the running back?) on a fourth down play, failed to tackle Eli Manning, and overall did a poor job in the fourth quarter; they also failed to make a pick that would've ended the game.

2006-2007 AFC Championship game. Yes, I'll blame Brady here. He couldn't put the defense in a better position to stop Peyton Manning, as he and the offense got 13 points in the 2nd half, as opposed to the 21 he got in the first half.

2005-2006. Yeah, no one really played well this season. Brady was quite horrible, the defense was horrible, and the running game wasn't really effective. Maybe it was a hangover year?

Don't forget; Peyton Manning, like I said earlier, chokes all the time in the playoffs, which is why he only has one ring.

Phillip Riv-

Forget it, I already explained this before in that post.
Peyton may not get postseason wins, and I admit that. But I'd rather rely on a more consistent QB. Honestly, I'd say Matt Stafford was better, but he can't stay healthy. Sam Bradford dragged a bad team from a 1-15 season in his Rookie season. Josh Freeman completely turned around. Brady's getting old, and not as reliable. Give me a healthy Stafford!

What about Eli Manning and Jay Cutler? They throw picks too much (Jay Cutler has a bad offensive line though), Phillip Rivers, hmm.... Well, he beats the Colts and loses to another team, um,.... Anyway, I'd like to see Josh Freeman and Sam Bradford in the playoffs. We'll see if they choke.

But anyway, you make as if Brady is only a fair QB, rather than a good one. He is a good one. Anyway, explain to me. Give me the good moments of Tom Brady.
I know he was good! I am saying that his quality of play severely dropped! He may be consistent in the regular season, but in the playoffs, it don't matter! Everyone's 0-0 in the playoffs, every week! Plus, Jay has improved ALOT. 26 picks dropped to 16. Eli can read coverage, he just cannot throw as hard as Peyton, which is sad, considering that he is younger... I can't see Josh Freeman choking after he handed it to the "oh so awesome" Saints, when nobody gave him a chance. Plus, the only QB faster than him might be Mike Vick, who chokes too. Now, if Brady gets back to the way he played 7 years ago, he'll get to at least the Championships, but if a lockout happens, he'll be in the UFL. If he lands there, he just may dethrone the Locos. But until then, I can only look at the fact that he is still 2nd for postseason completion % to Ben.
Oh... Why couldn't you just say that? I know that Tom Brady is kinda losing his swag.
Anyway, what is your position on the Buccaneers?
(Feb. 09, 2011  2:32 AM)Megablader9 Wrote: Anyway, what is your position on the Buccaneers?

Why do you want the Bucs in the Superbowl so bad? The won one not to long ago. They aren't like some other teams who are trying to get their first trophy.
I like Josh Freeman. I'd like to see Stafford get a ring too. Plus, 3-13, to 10-6, to Super Bowl Win? Epic Turnaround. Plus, they won the Pirate Bowl on defense. This is not 2002's Bucs. Josh Freeman is a great QB.
The bucks could win, they just have to win against those tough teams, in which they started to do, for example, beating the Saints. Who knows, they could go 16-0.
I loved seeing the Saints go down, didn't you?
I know that the season's over, but I've gotta say this. Ryan Mallet and Andy Dalton looked like #1-10 picks in their drills. I hope the Bears cut Collins, and draft another mobile QB. That's just how the Bears have always rolled. Well, not Grossman after his 3rd season. But I do see the Buccs getting some new WR talent, and the Rams getting a shiny new WR and QB. Blaine Gabbert/Pat Devlin and Titus Young! Rams win NFC West, then go to the NFC Championships to play the eventual SB Champs, the Chicago Bears. The next 2 years, the Steelers will beat St. Louis in OT, then St. Louis will run off 3 in a row. The Bears go on a tear, with Jay getting 2.(I'm an optimist.)

It's might not be a good idea to cut Collins.
