So im confused as to what happens with prizes.

But if it is a too bad you dont like your prize type thing I think most winners would prefer cash to buy there own prize.

Beyblade will not become gambling, this game is for kids. Hasbro gives prizes such as eletronic Beyblades and people take them anyway, they are prizes. Obviously the organiser tries to purchase prizes with at least a few top-tier parts, but otherwise some tournaments are fine with having few or no prizes.

I have already said it is not gambling. It is not going around to kids and being "lets play for cash you just rolled by beyblade hustler." Gambling is playing someone for money 1v1.

You pay $5 to enter and expect no prize?
Not much incentive to play you can just play fun games with your friends.
People play tournaments because they enjoy beyblades and adding prizes makes it more exciting.

A prize is what you have earned by playing hard on the day and all the preparation put in prior to the tourney.
Cash prizes are like any other prizes except you can choose what you want to buy.

Are you familiar with other games and how there prize systems work?

Do people prefer playing on the ground or tables?
What is the difference playing for a beyblade worth $50 or $50 cash?

Sorry for my hurtful post. All I was trying to say was that you should respect the effort the community is putting in to ensure the hobby stands firm and this forum stays organized. I agree with Omega perhaps you should read the Rules and Guidelines PDFS...

Ok rude. What is this funding you speak of?

Why should a tournament have to be officially approved by an unofficial organisation.
Why do all tournaments have to guy through you guys and why are you so hung up on your rules?

Why do you all keep saying non-profit organisation how does the WBO make a profit from a cash prize because im pretty sure the winner takes home the cash?

Can you please answer my questions?

It is not an organisation to make profit. The only money we get is from donations or from the entry fee at tournaments, hence why one had to be implemented at some point because donations are not regular, and we certainly do not have that much money to give to this site to keep it hosted and other things. The money in the World Beyblade Organization account is only ever used to keep this website hosted, pay for extra maintenance things, buy special prizes for giveaways or contests, etc. We are a non-profit organisation because anything we get comes from the fans, and goes back to the fans in some way. We also use the money from the entry fees to reimburse as much of the costs for the tournament as we can.

Bladers who pay the entry fee or get a Blader Passport get the right to use the Beypoint System, receive Faces, get Credits, etc. Before, the Beypoint System was opened to everyone, and there was a lot of cheating, so it is the only way to ensure that everybody is who they say they are.


Seriously, we are a sanctioning body for Beyblade tournaments, we are obviously serious about this hobby, we have strict but very fair rules that help keep this game alive and healthy, we have been keeping this hobby alive for years even when Beyblade itself was dead, etc. If you really do not understand how things work here or why they work that way with all that we have said, then leave, try to host your tournament elsewhere.

I realise the WBBA is only in Asia. I also realise that yes you guys are the reason this hobby has continued throughout the years when it wasnt as popular. I understand that you are the main sanctioning body for aussie tournaments, and for this tournament (i want to run for you guys) to be successful everybody has to on board. I will follow the wbo rules. I only ask questions as a i am new member and can understand how the beyblade community functions and runs.

For you guys to attack me a new member for suggestions is closed minded and rude. If you guys are to close minded and believe this post to be insulted like you have my past posts is ignorent. I am open to suggestions and only seek advice from you guys, that is why i ask so many questions. I hope this clears everything up.

I do not know if this comment was directed at littlechipz as I did not see his post before he edited it, but to me you really just did not accept all of our explanations and answers. We must have told you at least three times why there cannot be money as prizes, and you still mentioned the idea for some reason. It must have been the same thing with why there is an entry fee and what prizes are supposed to be ... And after that, you question basically the whole organisation, telling us we are "hung up" on the rules, etc.

If you think all you did was ask questions, then know that your questions were sometimes not that neutral at all. We can move on if you want, but something definitely had to be changed in this situation.

Fundamentally, it was directed at both me and you mostly at me, my posts were similar to yours, I was simply telling him this is not the place to put it, answered the same questions over and over, about how the mods and members are putting in so much work to make sure this hobby remains fun and this forum remains organized etc. Apparently this was offensive to him. I tried to make it a little better by editing my posts, but I beleive the best thing to do would be delete all the current posts up until the latest relevant one. NOTE: I'm back in rage mode. ^^

Anyway, on the desred topic, anybody willing to sell a few MFBs? PM me with what you have and I'll see if its fit for me. I'm looking for a NIB Vulcan ^^ and a few more HWS2... Possibly some accesories.

Since there are going to be huge turnouts in Melbourne tournaments from BEY INFERNO onwards, I don't think we'll have a second one on these holidays. I'll stick to only a few tournaments a year. The next one will possibly be in April 2011.

By the way, BEY INFERNO had the biggest turnout of all WBO tournaments yet Tongue_out
