wait, wait.
when i learned taekwando i didnt have to go through orange belt.
Neither did I...
There are different systems.

Some use more stripes and less belts, and others use more belts and less stripes.

I really don't like the belting system though, gives a false sense of skill to those who really are unworthy.
you want to know how I fight? I'll tell you, I don't believe in useing set styles. if you use a set style you may be able to seen right through your stradegy. so what I do is take what is usefull, discard what is useless, and add what is my own. it is unpridctability that ends up being the core of a personal so called style.

That's really good.
i took aikido and worked up to 200 hours and now im taking ju jitsu, and the submissions rule. i want to be able to fuse them into aikai ju jitsu (real martial art that isnt practiced where i live).
I try to do the same as tenshinshinobi, though it is hard to break free of your learning.

My style focuses less on a flurry of kicks, but combos using all types of strikes, but I usually lead and end with kicks, unless it leaves them in a vulnerable position, i.e, staggering where I would end it with a grab and knees/elbows.

I tend to fit power into my strikes though, while maintaining speed. For instance, I would incredibly rarely use a double kick in a fight. I try to use my punches, but usually they are more a means for me to get in close for elbows/throws, or get out to use my kicks.

I do throw a lot of front leg side kicks as a "shield", and counter back kicks though.
Sometimes I think of it like this. Instead of learning styles in terms of using them, I learn them so that I'm not taken by surprise against someone who's whatever style it is.
well i warp block techniques to suit me and use mainly sharp jabs in affectable areas and add in my own techniques i have worked on. probably not the best ever but suits me well. however i run out of energy fairly fast...

that's a pretty good way of thinking about it actually.

One thing that works great against Taekwondo fighters is as soon as they attack, step into them (obviously not into the kick), block/redirect their kick with your rear hand and punch them in the chest with your free hand, simultaneosly puttign your front leg behind their support leg.

I used to use this and a few others for a long time, until it got boring just decking everybody.

Whenever I grapple, I get the same feeling.
I am apart of a lion dance team in MA. It's not really a martial art, but it does take a a lot of dedication and perseverance.
I know a friend who did that actually, he was the head haha. Good dedication to keep that up, it definitely seems like hard work.
I take Aikido, and the attacker's attack is very sloppy, which sucks.

I've seen aikijujutsu at my dojo, and I love how they "freeze" up there sparring partners.

You can't really do that.. You can't expect to do an aikijujutsu Nikyo while learning Aikido and Jujutsu separately.
i found someone at my level! it took over 5 mins to get a good hit and then it was a tie...
lol my friend and i spar and the whole class is watching we cant have a spar in school without everyone watching but i dont blame them he is hard to beat we counter each other time and time again and end up having to draw
EDIT: they will never make that bey because it is too sharp and is a safety hazard

i dnt expect that. im not retarded. im simply trying to go for that kind of style with my own spin on it. i like submissions and throws. aikido duznt supply good ground defence, so i want to fill that gap with ju jitsu
also im gonna try capoeira soon since i have a hint of brazillian and im very flexible (thanks to parkour) so it seems to be a nice fit for me
I did not say that you were retarded. (Some people don't take that word well).

When you said aikai ju jitsu, I thought you meant the actual Martial Art (Aikijujutsu) that Aikido is based upon.
I've started a simple practice routine because i train less and less now, i do 15 round house kicks, 10 normal kicks, 10 jabs, 15 fast punches, 5 strong punches, 40 dogde actions in time with a metronome, remember pressure points for a couple of mins, take a break for 30 mins, then do 5 sweep kicks, and end off with 10 squats! now i'm so nackered i can only just do 3 weak punches! i might make it a bit easier next time...
I've recently obtained my green belt in tae-kwondo finally!
currently on my blue belt! I follow the art of American Kenpo, created by Ed Parker who based it off of several other fighting styles, mostly Chinese Kenpo.
I used to take Tae Kwon Do back before High School until my Freshman year. I quit as a Red Belt. Now I mostly fight using a kicking style I've adapted from Tae Kwon Do, using my arms only to block while relying on my movements and speed.

Takes up a lot of stamina, though, and in the (bad) shape I'm in, I won't last a full 5 minutes anymore...
Kaji, I'm a black belt Taekwondo and honestly, that's a bad style to follow.

I personally used that in the past, and while good against other kickers, is horrible against anything else.

I myself am still predominantly a kicker, if I get within punching range i would only use a quick combo to either get into my opponent and use a throw or elbows and knees, or to push them back or move back for kicks.

However you really need to learn to use your hands, at least enough to hold your own decently without relying on kicks.

I find it hard, but I still use my hands now and I'm a much better fighter for it.
I know what you mean, but when I punch, I feel like I'm pulling back some how; a lot of the force gets reduced at the VERY last second, and I can't help it. That's why I use my feet more because I don't seem to hold back with them compared to punching or any arm or hand-based attacks.
My friend is a black belt, and he's only 13. He has a lot of martial arts stuff in his room.
