See you guys in 2 hours! Should have practiced a lot beforehand...
Good tourny today, very happy with my results etcetera.

Hopefully I got this to you before you started processing stuff, Syphon (me) has changed his name to this, the infamous Xcalibur Lad!
@[-HB-] Indeed Syphon has evolved suddenly into the legend himself, Xcalibur Lad!!!
Only he can wield the sword strong enough to burst apart the evil Wyvern that currently invades the realm.

Anyway, happy with my results, with the heroic Xcalibur Lad beating me in both a round robin battle and then a tiebreaker for 3rd place.

But, once again, @[Balance Blader] has won a Shard of Amaterios. No one could stop his rampage! This makes three shard, which combine to grant him his own Amaterios Aero Assault, courtesy of the Amaterios Awakening campaign! Not sure how this works now, since the Shards don't actually exist yet (correct me if I'm wrong), but I guess @[Kai-V] will do something after -HB- posts the results sometime later this week or so.
Wow, awesome. We will definitely not have a problem awarding him the Amaterios despite the lack of physical Shards of Amaterios hah. Congratulations!

What was the full top three?
I wish I could come sorry birthday boy!Unhappy

3rd - Xcalibur Lad (aka Syphon)

2nd - AtomicCasanova

1st - Balance Blader

A day of many unexpected outcomes indeed. I'm actually quite happy with the London metagame. We are at the stage where top players do well, but new players can quickly catch up and beat top players. Everyone's scores are getting better (except @[ClaraM] if she finally would stop using troll combos Tongue_out ) and I believe at this point anyone can place in our tournaments.
Praise be to the Odin ban! Grin
Congratulations to Balance Blader for being the first person to gather all three Shards of Amaterios! They do indeed exist and should be posted soon. Smile And of course, thanks to you Manicben and the entire London community for being so active lately to allow Balance Blader to even have the opportunity to gather three.
Will have results up ASAP I'm a little tied up with work as it stands. Thanks to everyone that came hope you all had fun! On to the next one!
What were the prizes?
They were edible I'll give them out next time....
As I posted in the thread for the January 23rd tournament, there seems to be a three-way tie between people with the most consecutive wins actually, so I tagged Manicben but perhaps he is too busy to answer: had a tiebreaker been conducted between those three Bladers?

@[Manicben] @[Kai-V] Do we know the three bladers? I'm not sure if we have done
ClaraM, Balance Blader and guardianemperor.
The in depth rules were added to the blader rewards thread on the 7th Feb so isn't it possible we didn't know to do so?
Well why was Balance Blader chosen as the person with the most consecutive wins when in fact there were two other people with the same number of consecutive wins? It is just logical that a tiebreaker would be conducted, or at least all three people should have been listed, not just Balance Blader.
I'd ask Ben since it's his tournament.

Error on my part, looking at the spreadsheet confirms all three had 5 consecutive wins, yet during the tournament I must have messed up somewhere cos I had Balance Blader listed as Shard.
My apologies there, we should definitely have had a tiebreaker for the shard back then.

How about this? We could do the tiebreaker at the next event, provided that @[guardianemperor] attends. So for now we can award Balance Blader his two definite Shards and leave the last one to be decided later. I do feel bad for hyping things up, but it's my fault for not realising (then again Ultra pointed the detailed rules weren't up, but still my bad).
We could do that or base it on the finals, in which all three participated in (which would in fact result in guardianemperor winning the Shard), but I guess that may be a bit unfair.
Circumstances are different, for instance Odin was not banned back then, but the solution does seem like it should be a tiebreaker done as soon as possible among those three Bladers.

That shall be arranged for the next tournament or earlier I suppose. I can tell who'd win now that Odin is banned, but I'll get @[_Avenger_] to contact @[guardianemperor] to see if he's free anytime soon. I know @[Balance Blader] and @[ClaraM] are up for it Grin

I called him whilst in KFC yesterday after the tourney and he said that he is getting his leg cast removed on the 23rd-25th March so he will be able to attend a tourney after that!^-^

Great news! Glad he's almost recovered fully then. Next tournament will defo be early April.
Submitted combos. Spread sheet is here too. should be all good.

Hey I just noticed some mistakes in the results: Manicben and AtomicCasanova are both missing at least one match in the regular Round Robin. However, on top of that, the finals were not done properly, and apparently none of the regulars stopped the error from happening before the end of the tournament... Once all the rounds are done in Round Robin, you need to just take the top three players with the most wins and do another Round Robin among them. There is no automatic placement or battles only for the third place. I do not think we can give Credits and Faces for the top three if it was indeed conducted like the results show.

Hey,

I'll dig out the results and double check. I think this is most likely an error in my data input. I did seek advice from peers on the best way to handle the amount of ties so this wasn't an off the cuff decision. I'll check when I get home @[Manicben] shall scan the results in and we can double check.
