I'm homeschooled, so I don't have the popularity stuff going on. I used to have a lot of friends, but a lot of them have disappeared

I feel like being popular is a pretty cool thing to experience. I follow popular kids on Instagram, and looking at what they post, they have a lot going on. Theyre so social — they post pictures of their sports teammates goofing off, going to different restaurants with their different friends, etc. They have so many people to choose from in class whenever the teacher goes “pick a partner!”

Fortunately for me, Im considered “middle class.” Meaning, people who are halfway to being popular. Im not too lonely, and Im not too popular. Its a peaceful spot to be at in school life; you dont have to worry about being lonely, or pressured into looking cute for the “hot” people

I classify popular kids as “Potties”(don’t judge, it was the only potty word I could think of), meaning they’re popular and sort of mean, “Sub-Potties”, meaning they’re popular, but nice, and “Sub-Sub-Potties”, meaning they’re not 100% popular, but they’re still sort of popular and can be nice or mean. The rest of the people are in groups I call factions. There are girl factions and boy factions and mixed-gender factions. There are also middle class people(like me) who aren’t popular at all, but aren’t bullied. Then there are F-Class people, who have no friend so and get picked on. I construct weird hierarchies for school and sports.

The heirarchy at my school is pretty much the same, but sometimes things get weird. I automatically became popular once I joined a sport, which was weird. I guess some popular kids arent interested in you until they find out youre in a sport

I just happened to notice different types of popular kids. Most people don’t care that I do cross country. I’m not that good anyways. But in Cross Country I’ve also established a hierarchy where there are three main groups. The people in the front(fastest). the people in the middle(somewhat fast), and the people in the back(not super duper fast). Each group is then separated into 2 subsets: the upper group and the lower group. It’s pretty self-explanatory. I’m in the lower middle group.

Honestly, I was never really that interested in being... "Popular". I used to be the type of guy who normally liked everyone, but now I just go with whatever. I have some pretty good friends, but if you're counting my youtube channel and all of that I guess I am popular at least on the internet lol. XD

But in Cross Country I’ve also established a hierarchy where there are three main groups. Your cross country team just seem not like a team at all, which is 50-50 ish to me. Its divided by talent, but Im guessing its normal in most sports anyway. Im doing track because its pretty much simpler, but kudos for doing cross country because that takes effort and endurance. I cant even do long distance (the PE class noobs somehow say cross country is the easiest sport? What???)

My school’s cross country team is pretty introverted for some reason, which makes the track kids think its more introverts in general (track is for anyone extroverted, unpopular or popular). My track team is pretty huge, but during off-season practice, the entire team tends to be “broken” up. We practice coed, but the girls think the guys are immature and gross so they avoid them — not gonna lie, their games like “nipple tag” and “butt slap tag” weird us out. And then the girls, they tend to split up and be with their friend groups

In short, if you have no friends in track, good luck surviving track socially. At least in cross country, the introverts get together and have some fun. Y’all get together and think of nothing except knowing that y’all like to run

It’s just when running. There are some people who run up front and some people who fall behind. We all cheer each other on.

The heck, thats the most sped thing Ive ever heard. I mean people say things like “track and cross country has the weirdest people” but I didnt expect things like THAT to happen. Boys at my school are weird, but I hope that does not end up happening to your team. It really sounds concerning

On the bright side, at least the cross country teams ignore social differences and just run. I noticed that with different schools and all. They just seem really friendly and social. I felt kinda jealous when my school’s boys’ cross country team joined up and made their own flag (just by combining themselves together for work and making it)! And now theyre running while waving the large flag, regardless of whether the person helping was unpopular or popular. I wish track was close. Even when we do the team cheer, everyone cringes about getting close to other people and we dont even sound like a team

And here we have track looking like a weirdo team where everyone splits up into different friend groups, with the boys playing weird and too-touchy games

For some reason, theres this rumor/stereotype going on at my school how “track is a team full of sports drop outs”

I mean, its not completely incorrect at all

Ive recognized teammates who used to be in basketball, volleyball, swim, and tennis. Some of them probably escaped because they hated conditioning in other sports, or they were ranked frosh in another sport so they wanted to be good in track

Lol, I guess I'm kinda like the dude who likes talking with almost any boy and even a few girls in the class. I literally talk to anyone who isn't new or hostile. Everyone likes my presence. But, I don't really talk much outside my class. Also, I'm kinda like the class joker.

I too, am thin. I'm 7 kilograms lesser than what qualifies as barely the correct weight for my height. I was, a few years back, a normal weight dude. Somehow, I guess, my metabolism went on steroids and I'm nearly as heavy as the lightest dude in my class.

Does anyone have cheerleaders at their school? If so, how are they? Cheerleaders at my school act like the ones media portray, but some are really friendly and actually try to get good grades

My cheerleader friend is pretty weird at times lol. She once handed out sticky notes for our table in math class, because she thinks the government is watching us via the frontal camera hole. So we p much covered the chromebooks’ camera the entire time because we listened to her. Shes also taking AP Psychology, which is REALLY hard

I remember when I was in 1st grade, I was the only kid in my class who knew multiplication and division. My teacher wanted to see if we knew it. She gave us two problems each. All of them were the same, and 1 type was M and the other D. I finished it in like two seconds. I had to show my work 9 different ways. Then I had to explain to my class. 45 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. No one learned anything in those 45 minutes.

School systems around me now use ipads instead of teachers!

Covering cameras with sticky notes is not that weird, imo. I don't know if the government itself is stalking people through laptop cameras, but it certainly is a very Google thing to do. I also do cover cameras on my devices, phone included because I don't use them ever.
