HMS - Unfair or advantageous?

9:02:33 PM Keyblader007: u kno HMS are unfair against plastic
9:02:37 PM Keyblader007: u told me urself
9:03:02 PM Tamer Brad: it's not unfair
9:03:09 PM Tamer Brad: it's how any competitive hobby works
9:03:10 PM Keyblader007: i said i could be some HMS blade with plastci and u just said if I played in a tourney like that plastic wouldn't have chance
9:03:18 PM Tamer Brad: advantageous does not mean unfair
9:03:20 PM Keyblader007: its ur own words
9:03:29 PM Keyblader007: it does in competition
9:03:35 PM Keyblader007: they are 2 diff formats
9:03:56 PM Keyblader007: mostly metal and higher rpm and can spin left or right each time
9:04:10 PM Keyblader007: its like a double weight against a normal blade
9:04:14 PM Tamer Brad: no it's not
9:04:16 PM Keyblader007: or an illegal weight
9:04:17 PM Tamer Brad: double weight are illegal
9:04:19 PM Tamer Brad: HMS isn't.
9:04:26 PM Keyblader007: It is against plastic
9:04:31 PM Tamer Brad: no it isn't lol
9:04:32 PM Keyblader007: hms are only against hms
9:04:34 PM Tamer Brad: who the carp told you that?
9:04:38 PM Keyblader007: prove me worng!
9:04:48 PM Keyblader007: for tournaments
9:04:50 PM Tamer Brad: when HMS came out in Japan you could use them against plastics in tournaments
9:05:09 PM Keyblader007: that might have been in the begining
9:05:11 PM Tamer Brad: plastic zombies were still being used until Wolborg MS came out
9:05:14 PM Tamer Brad: no, it was all the way through
9:05:18 PM Tamer Brad: you could use plastics if you wanted to
9:05:18 PM Keyblader007: but with all the newer ones its unfair
9:05:27 PM Tamer Brad: that's kind of how games like this work
9:05:42 PM Keyblader007: but after hms got more wipespread did u see that then?
9:05:55 PM Tamer Brad: it was still completely legal to fight plastic vs hms
9:05:59 PM Tamer Brad: this never, EVER changed
9:06:04 PM Keyblader007: legal but unfair
9:06:08 PM Tamer Brad: no, not unfair
9:06:10 PM Tamer Brad: advantageous
9:06:20 PM Tamer Brad: the other player has every ability to use an HMS, if they don't it's they're problem
9:06:23 PM Keyblader007: yes it is especially against a new blader
9:06:30 PM Keyblader007: thats retarded
9:06:35 PM Tamer Brad: it's no more unfair than a zombie vs. a spin dragoon
9:06:40 PM Keyblader007: the hms blader will win majority of the time
9:06:42 PM Tamer Brad: should we just ban all good beyblades?
9:06:52 PM Keyblader007: no there u go again
9:07:33 PM Keyblader007: its stupid to have them mixed especially since they function differently
9:07:40 PM Keyblader007: how can u not say their unfair
9:07:46 PM Tamer Brad: V2 beyblades function differently from original Beyblades
9:07:49 PM Tamer Brad: they're still legal
9:07:52 PM Keyblader007: they are all metal and stronger plastic
9:07:57 PM Keyblader007: never said illegal
9:08:03 PM Tamer Brad: it's still fair.
9:08:13 PM Keyblader007: they can spin left or right w/o chanign them
9:08:16 PM Tamer Brad: yes
9:08:19 PM Keyblader007: unfair
9:08:22 PM Tamer Brad: original beyblades couldn't even spin left
9:08:22 PM Keyblader007: against non
9:08:30 PM Tamer Brad: i suppose using a left spin beyblade against a bearing stinger is unfair then
9:08:38 PM Keyblader007: am i talking about original blades?
9:08:40 PM Keyblader007: no
9:08:54 PM Keyblader007: ur examples are ridicoulous
9:09:07 PM Keyblader007: i mean all plastic blades
9:09:13 PM Tamer Brad: no, YOUR examples are ridiculous
9:09:20 PM Tamer Brad: you're just picking and choosing what you like
9:09:33 PM Keyblader007: tell me how a skilled plastic blader would beat a equally skilled hms blader then
9:09:43 PM Tamer Brad: a skilled blader would be smart enough to use HMS
9:09:55 PM Keyblader007: see that is no the answer to my question
9:09:58 PM Tamer Brad: if he doesn't, it's his own fault if he loses
9:10:10 PM Keyblader007: u just ignored it cuz u cdan't answer it
9:10:15 PM Tamer Brad: you have to apply your logic everywhere, you can't just pick and choose where to apply it
9:10:31 PM Tamer Brad: you're choosing to just apply your logic to HMS, you have to apply it to all beyblades
9:10:32 PM Keyblader007: u just admitted it that the plastic blader would lose!
9:10:34 PM Tamer Brad: they're all fair, all legal
9:10:50 PM Keyblader007: think w/e u want u told me everything i needed to hear just now
9:10:51 PM Tamer Brad: yes, he probably would, and it's his own fault
9:10:56 PM Tamer Brad: for not using HMS
9:11:00 PM Keyblader007: no its not his own fault
9:11:04 PM Keyblader007: shut up
9:11:14 PM Keyblader007: not everyone thinks hms are so great
9:11:14 PM Tamer Brad: "I am a skilled SPIN DRAGOON blader! But I can't beat skilled Beybladers who don't use Spin Dragoons! NOT FAIR"
9:11:36 PM Keyblader007: ur using retarded specifics again
9:11:37 PM Keyblader007: lame
9:11:46 PM Tamer Brad: no, i'm applying the logic you're applying to everything
9:11:57 PM Tamer Brad: you don't get to pick and choose where to apply it
9:12:57 PM Keyblader007: forget u can't comprehend this
You always just copy and paste our conversations so juvenile! That why i did it to you for once!
keyblader007 Wrote:You always just copy and paste our conversations so juvenile! That why i did it to you for once!

What? I just copied and pasted the whole conversation. You only copied part of it. I deleted your post because I'd already made a topic about it.
Interesting.

HMS is just an upgrade on existing tops. They all spin. They are all still tops. In fact, in terms of the concepts and design, the only difference between HMS and pre-HMS is the material used.

For example, SG Flat base against SG Grip Flat; the Grip Flat is designed with a rubber tip to improve its attack capability.

Similarily, Upper Claw against Metal Upper; Metal Upper is designed with a metal frame to improve general capabilities.

I lol'd

I can see what you mean by HMS Beys having an edge against other Beys, but Brad's points are REALLY good. This isn't something new to see a newer system take top tier since yeah, like stated before, newer and better systems and parts would always force the players to use those because of how advantageous they are. If they want to win, they have to use the newer stuff. This kind of thing is very common in TCGs as well.
lol

I honestly agree with Brad here... if someone's using an HMS, and you use a plastic when you had the full ability to use an HMS, then it's your fault if you lose...

Maybe, he does not have the means to acquire a HMS?
I say that the advantage they give makes them unfair!

That does sort of present a different problem...

@ keyblader: We know.

I explained this so many times, so I'll leave it to someone else to freshen up the rhetoric and respond to this ridiculousness.
HMS is an upgrade of an outdated series.

Lotus Elise > some 1700's truck
HMS > Plastic

Would you prefer the Lotus Elise? Yes, because it's better in almost every way.
SHOULD you prefer the HMS beyblades over the Plastic Generation? Yes, because it's better in almost every way.

And how did you come to reason that HMS wasn't allowed against Plastic Gen? HMS is an upgrade, but it's not like you're using an illegal bey versus a plastic or something..........

It's like what Brad said in the other topic. Driger S > Spin Dragoon, should Driger S be illegal to use? No.
9:31:52 PM Keyblader007: if beyblade ever came back i guarentee u there would be seperate divisions
9:32:32 PM Tamer Brad: there'd probably be beyblades even stronger than HMS
9:32:43 PM Tamer Brad: oh no! what then?
9:32:59 PM Tamer Brad: THREE divisions?
9:33:18 PM Keyblader007: only if they are bilut entirely different
9:33:42 PM Tamer Brad: LOL
9:33:46 PM Keyblader007: u said urself that the plastic blader would be slaughtered by the hms one
9:33:49 PM Tamer Brad: yes
9:33:54 PM Tamer Brad: due to his own poor decision.
9:33:57 PM Keyblader007: so how is that just an advantage
9:34:03 PM Tamer Brad: you're really dense.
9:34:08 PM Keyblader007: THERE IS NO carp PPOR DECSION
9:34:19 PM Keyblader007: PEOPLE LIKE PLASTIC MORE SOMETIMES EVER THINK OF THAT!
9:34:27 PM Keyblader007: U R
9:35:08 PM Keyblader007: so that makes everyone who only plays plastic bad bladers right then brad?
9:35:17 PM Keyblader007: only hms bladers can be the best?
9:35:20 PM Keyblader007: right brad
9:35:21 PM Tamer Brad: yes
9:35:22 PM Keyblader007: right
9:35:30 PM Keyblader007: I DON'T carp THINK SO
9:35:38 PM Keyblader007: THATS IS UNFAIR LOOK IT UP
9:35:38 PM Tamer Brad: you can't be the best beyblader if you only use plastic
9:35:45 PM Keyblader007: THATS A CLEAR OVER KILL
9:35:50 PM Tamer Brad: just like you can't be the best beyblader if you use only spin dragoons
9:35:57 PM Tamer Brad: and if this metaphor isn't sinking in yet, get it together.
9:36:00 PM Keyblader007: THATS TOO GENERAL
9:36:05 PM Keyblader007: carp SPIN DRAGOON
9:36:09 PM Keyblader007: SHT UP ABOUT IT
9:36:13 PM Tamer Brad: hahahahaha
9:36:20 PM Keyblader007: JESUS CHRSIT MAN
keyblader007 Wrote:I say that the advantage they give makes them unfair!

Ohh boo hoo. I can't get this part or that part blah blah blah.
Yes I know it's really unfair at times that some people don't have the best parts or such, but seriously, what hobby has ever been fair by that case?
I'm also on Brad's side here. What he says in true, it is advantageous to use HMS over plastics and if you choose to play with plastics, that is your problem because you had the chance to choose one of your HMS Beyblades. All of Brads examples with Spin Dragoon and such are completely true, the only problem here is that Keyblader is being very close-minded.

The only way that HMS could be unfair (the whole old plastic vs. new plastic is different, they are of the same generation) is if the opponent doesn't own any (which is justifiable considering that Beyblade production has been halted) and the person with HMS still decides to use it.

EDIT: Lol, I see my last point has already been brought up.

9:36:54 PM Tamer Brad: well duh
9:36:56 PM Keyblader007: HMS DON'T EXIST TO MANY BLADERS
9:37:02 PM Tamer Brad: i don't understand that
9:37:05 PM Tamer Brad: they were out for over a year
9:37:08 PM Keyblader007: THATS THE WHOLE PROB
9:37:08 PM Tamer Brad: there was over 30 of them made
9:37:14 PM Tamer Brad: so it's a stupid excuse
9:37:24 PM Keyblader007: NO ENTIRELY
9:37:28 PM Keyblader007: NOT*
9:37:40 PM Keyblader007: THEY ARE NOT EVEN COMPATABLE WITH EACHOTHER

9:38:01 PM Tamer Brad: you can't use bearing tips on non-compatible beyblades
9:38:04 PM Keyblader007: UNFAIR
9:38:09 PM Tamer Brad: there's been incompatibility through this entire game
9:38:13 PM Keyblader007: NOT ABLE FOR FAIR COMPETITION

9:39:06 PM Tamer Brad: V2 system can't customize with non V2 Beyblades
9:39:09 PM Tamer Brad: Ban V2s!
9:39:22 PM Keyblader007: EVEN THOUGH SOME PLASTCIS FEATURES WONT WORK ON OTHER PLASTICS THEY HAVE PARTS THAT WILL WORK ON EACH OTHER

9:41:04 PM Keyblader007: thats y its unfair and most people play plastci

lol!

I'm going to go watch keyblader's videos on youtube now!

And I'm guessing we're never going to win this arguement here...
Tamer Brad Wrote:9:09:33 PM Keyblader007: tell me how a skilled plastic blader would beat a equally skilled hms blader then

This is where you lost all credibility. What you had left anyways. You are blending the meanings of fairness and usefulness. Just because something is useful in battle compared to something else doesn't make it unfair. It makes YOU an idiot for not stepping up your own blades. That's how games work. You get the better gear, you perform better. All legal parts are allowed for play, from the weakest plastic combo to the godliest HMS combo. Like Brad said, if someone's not smart or skilled enough to use better blades, the onus is on them for not making the effort to learn and buy what would have worked better.

Quote:9:34:08 PM Keyblader007: THERE IS NO carp PPOR DECSION

9:35:17 PM Keyblader007: only hms bladers can be the best?
9:35:20 PM Keyblader007: right brad

They can like or use whichever blades they want. That doesn't mean they're competent battlers.

Quote:9:35:45 PM Keyblader007: THATS A CLEAR OVER KILL

So even the odds and use HMS. Doi. Get with the freaking program.
When I want to go deep-sea diving, I'm not going to purchase a scuba tank because it's unfair towards the people who want to use snorkels.

When I learn to play golf, I'm not going to buy good clubs, because it's unfair to the folks who have to rent from the country club.

When I play marbles, I'm not going to use steelies or jumbos because it's unfair against the people who only have cateyes.

When a competitive game relies heavily (one could even say exclusively) on the equipment one uses in it, and the available equipment has gone up in quality and effectivity over the history of the game, then a fundamental aspect of the game is maintaining a current, competitive inventory. HMS blades are now, and have always been legal against plastic series blades. The ONLY generation that had anything close to a moratorium on it was the Gyro-Specialty series, as they weren't designed to be battle-competitive.

When beyblade first appeared, the parts available were, frankly, pathetic. Yes, they were fairly evenly balanced against each other, provided one knew how to use them, but that was about it. In order to advance the game and add to the competitiveness of it, spin gears were added, not to mention a greater variety of shapes and sizes of parts. The game progressed, more functions and features were added. Clutches, pressure switches, different materials. The first blade that had a metal tip, was that unfair to use against all previous blades? Of course not. I mean, c'mon, do you know what level of customizability was added to the game when people played with Magnestadiums? Support parts? VARIOUS BEARING HOUSINGS?!? With the right equipment and parts, someone could make an unstoppable juggernaut with parts from Burning Kerberous, Wolborg, Dragoon V2, Dranzer V2, Wide Survivor, and a Gyro-Specialty AR. Was it unfair? Maybe, but it was perfectly legal by the rules of the game and if that person had the money to buy the parts, then doesn't he or she have the right to use them?

If someone likes plastics more, then it's a style preference. And that's perfectly fine, and I can understand why some might hold that view. There's a lot of nostalgia tied to them, particularly in the English-speaking world, as there's more of a media precedence. But the fact is plain and simple; HMS perform better than plastics. From a competitive angle, it would just be poor judgement to opt a plastic blade when something that has time and again tested superior is available. To use an old analogy, why would you bring a knife to a gun fight?

All that being said, if you're running a tourney, and you want to make separate divisions of plastic and HMS, by all means, it's your party. But recognize that you're house-ruling things and, to an extent, denying a full-blown competition to the entrants who came for that.
That post has win written all over it.
Everyone grow up!

I have HMS blades ok!

I prefer Plastic maybe because I started out with them and get more variety~also there are more grips and accessories for them!

I is not only an upgrade Elmo!
Upgrades are Magnacore & Engine gear, HMS aren't compatible with plastic in any way!

Maybe some of us don't like abandoning the things that got us into beyblade when it first came out unlike all of you!

I play both for the record and have pretty much all blades in both formats!

You like HMS fine but you can't argue with me that someone with only plastic blades and who only like plastic blades has a chance against a full HMS blader!

So I will end it here, because I am not the close minded one you are!

Not everyone likes HMS ok!
Your entire argument is "because I like them?" XDXDXD
Well, that makes you even less competent for not having the common sense to step up to HMS.
