General GFX Thread

Smudge is too simple. Lighting needs work as well. Oh, plus depth, and composition

BTW, CnC on this?

CnC on my current avatar, please?
The Dragoon

The background looks fine, red colored and the Dragooon. The character's position is OK. The text ... in a fine place too. Inner dark glow is a cool idea. The glow behind the text is cool too, and it would look cooler if you added a white stroke to the text, but it's up to you of course.

Conclusion : Yeah your avatar is good.
CnC anyone? Trying to find good tuts for these kinds of renders too.

Septentrione
Lighting is fine. Depth, flow and composition need work. Blending is ok.

Lighting is off. Flow is fine. Depth is lacking

Your getting better at depth but the ryu sig looks a bit too blurry.

Maybe it's because of the oilpaint filter.
OKAY! Who doesn't have photoshop?
Get this: Adobe released the FULL version of Photoshop CS2, along with other programs! THIS IS 100% LEGIT DOWNLOAD.
You can get it here:
http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html

I guess it'll help few GFXer's who has a hard time in their respective programs. Although it's CS2, It kinda works as normally as it should Grin on higher CS.

Have fun Grin, oh, and sorry if advertising. I thought I should put it here other than a new thread, but again, sorry if advertising Grin
This is alright, as it is related to GFX.

Yes, this is legit, and yes, you should get this if you don't have and can't afford Photoshop.

Are you using the Filter Section a lot?

If yes, don't. It's too powerful for beginners.

I don't use the filter section a lot.I only use the oil filter for my render.
Ah, then you're on the right track.

Your lighting needs to be more subtle and refined, smudge needs to be more detailed, and vary the style from tag to tag.

Make the canvas smaller, and you're on the right track!

watch out for cut edges on C4Ds though Smile
Here is a result of a broken laptop, had to use Pixlr express on my tablet. I just couldnt stay without GFX
CnC?
If you can't stay without GFX, then try drawing typography, it is very helpful.

Most of my tags for competitions start out with a sketch of flow, lighting, render, etc.
I suck at drawing eventually when im bored i draw abstract art.
I suck at drawing to...
But what can you do?
I just go for doodling xD
Made this nearly 2 years ago now I think, stumbled upon it again recently:

Medz Its Good except the Text,Its messy...
I Like the idea!

Thank God You Finally did Something without scanlines! Yay!
Yeah, I did it a long while ago, not bothered to look for the PSD and change it now though.

& I've done a lot of things without scan lines >_>
Ur iconic style is with Scanlines XD.
Background is too LQ, as well as text.

Your old work is nostalgic for me XD
