Chapter 38
Eternal Darkness, Wither Overlord!
Me: Say what?!
Dad: Yeah, I’m heading out on a business trip.
Me: But what about the World Championships?!
Dad: Shu will take you.
Me: So you're not even going to watch?
(Dad puts his hand on my shoulder)
Dad: Of course I will, I’ll be watching you all the way! So you better do your best!
Me: I’ll try.
Dad: When you make it to the finals I’ll be there to watch in person!
Me: How do you know I’m gonna make it all the way there?
Dad: Because I know you better than anyone.
Me: Fine, I guess you can go.
Dad: I’ll see you later.
(Dad rubs my hair then leaves)
Me: I’ve just gotta finish packing, then I’ll be good to go!
(I start shoving clothes in my backpack as the doorbell rings)
Me: Right on time!
(I run down the stairs and open the door)
Hiacan: Ready to go? Shu and the others are waiting on the plane for us!
Me: Yeah, I’m raring to go!
(The ground starts rumbling)
Hiacan: Earthquake!
Me: Wait, I remember this rumbling!
(Me and Hiacan run outside and look at a huge airship)
Me/Hiacan: Waikiya?!
Wakiya: It’s the one and only!
Raina/Pam: Hey, guys!
Me: What’s going on?
Wakiya: Well, I’m taking all the Legends and Bladers eligible to the World Championships, because, well, we don’t want this beautiful ship collecting dust do we?
Me: I guess not, alright I’m in!
(Me and Hiacan get on the Airship, the Airship flies off)
Valt: Go, Shoot!
(Valt pulls off a Beyjitzu Shoot)
Me: Valt!
(I run up to Valt)
Valt: Hey, Percy!
Me: Hey, you're on here too?
Valt: Of course, I’ll be entering too you know!
Aiden: But you’re the World Champion!
Valt: Yeah, but this is a new ranking system, so I might lose my champion title if I lose this!
All: You’re kidding!
Shu: It’s true, and the finals are going to be Me Vs Valt!
Valt: I’m counting on it!
Me: It’s going to be Me Vs Valt or you Shu! You better count on it!!
Shu: It doesn't matter which one of you I face, Spriggan will take you down.
Aiden: Ah! I don’t know who to cheer on!!
Raina: Wakiya, where are you even taking us?
Wakiya: We're heading to The Victories right now to pick up Drum, then we need to pick up the Ashi brothers, then we need to go to Ogre Island to pick up Lui, then we’ll head out for Free!
Me: Man, that’s a lot of stops!
Wakiya: It’ll all be worth it for the best tournament ever!
Raina: So Wakiya, will you be cheering Percy and Hiacan on?
Wakiya: First off, I’m one of the commissioners of the tournament so of course I’ll be watching!
All: *Gasps*
Shu: And you didn’t tell us this earlier, why?
Wakiya: Some surprises are better saved at a moment like this!
Me: Wait, so you're in charge?
Wakiya: Yes, and with my expertise, this will be the best tournament the world has ever seen!
Hiacan: Ok, what’s the second piece of news?
Wakiya: Hiacan, Max, and Baabar will have to prove themselves by facing a randomly selected Legend!
All: Seriously?!
Wakiya: Yes, Oribe and Percy are already eligible to join!
Me: Speaking of Oribe, where is he?
~In The Airship’s Workroom~
Oribe: I’ll teach the Blading world a good lesson!
(Oribe works on his bey)
Oribe: The new Overlord is going to take over the blading world! Leaving darkness and dust in every corner!!
(Oribe laughs evilly)
~At The Front Of The Airship~
(We help Hikaru, Hyuga, and Drum get on the ship)
Drum: I’ve been training forever for this tournament, I’m gonna rise up and win!
Hikaru: We’ll stop you from winning!
Hyuga: Yeah!
Hikaru/Hyuga: Cause heroes always win!
Wakiya: Let’s keep this heated rivalry inside the ship, we’ve got places to be!
Drum: Valt, just remember, I’m gonna take you down!
Valt: I’d like to see you try!
Hyuga: I’m gonna kablam Valkyrie right outta the stadium!
Valt: Valkyrie’s gonna send Hyperion flying!
Valt/Hyuga: We’ll break our limits!!
Hikaru: Shu, we’ve still got some unfinished business! So, I’m gonna have to take you down in this tournament!!
Shu: I’d like to see you try!
Me: Um, I’m entering too you know!
~In The Airship’s Workroom~
Oribe: It’s done! Wither Overlord!!
(Oribe holds up his bey, Oribe’s Resonance Aura flares up like a raging inferno)
Oribe: With this Bey, I’ll finally show Shu who’s the true Blading Legend!
~At The Front Of The Airship~
(Oribe walks up to Shu)
Shu: What do you need?
Oribe: A battle!
All: *Gasps*
Oribe: Just you and Me proving who’s the stronger Blader!
Shu: I accept!
Valt: Shu.
Shu: I’ll be fine.
Oribe: Great, Wither Overlord wants to hear your screams!
(Oribe holds up Wither Overlord)
All: *Gasps*
Valt: He evolved his Bey!
Oribe: That’s right, The Ultimate Defense Type! Wither Overlord!
Shu: Superior Spriggan will take it down!
Drum: I guess I’ll be the referee! Inspect your opponent's Bey!
Shu (Thoughts): Wither Overlord, a Clockwise spinning Defense type! It has a huge thick layer, probably to block more incoming attacks. Looks like when it takes enough damage part of the layer falls down. I wonder why. Its disk is super heavy and wide, it won’t be giving the center up so easily! Its driver has a plate and a spinning ball, the plate can be used to counterattack and the plate can be used to drift around the stadium. Oribe’s gotten stronger, but I can’t let him win!
Drum: First battle!
Oribe: I’ll take you out with a burst finish!
Shu: I won’t let you!
(Shu puts Spryzen in Counterclockwise Attack Mode)
Drum: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
Oribe/Shu: Go, Shoot!
(Oribe and Shu pull off powerful Beyjitzu Shoots)
Shu: Go, Spriggan!
Oribe: Now, Overlord!!
(Overlord turns into a raging fireball and takes the center, Spriggan attacks but gets sent flying)
Shu: *Gasps*
Drum: Its defense is so strong!
Shu: Upper Shoot!
(Spriggan hits Overlord with a powerful barrage of attacks, Overlord doesn't move an inch)
Me: How come it’s not moving?
Hikaru: It’s a tank, moving that thing out of the center is going to be a challenge. Even for Shu.
Oribe: You can forfeit anytime Shu!
Shu: Never! Superior Counter Break!
(Spriggan leans on its driver and picks up speed, Spriggan slams into Overlord)
Oribe: Withering Doomsday!
(A huge plate on the layer slams down on Spriggan, Spriggan gets sent flying out of the stadium)
All: *Gasps*
Drum: It’s Wither Overlord with an over finish! Oribe claims one point!
Me: What just happened?!
Hyuga: Hikaru, it’s just like--
Hikaru: I know, it’s exactly like that move.
Oribe: Since your little brains can’t understand, let me explain it for you! When Overlord takes enough damage a huge plate comes down and can deal a lot of damage, it also makes the whole layer free spin and show off a free-spinning blade in the middle!
Shu: Grr!!
Me: Shu, take ‘em down in the next one!
Shu: Trust me, I’ll take you down and show you the true meaning of Beyblade!!
(Shu’s Resonance Aura flares up, Shu’s scar and eyes glow bright red)
Drum: Second battle!
Oribe: I don’t care about the true meaning of Beyblade or all that other stuff, I’ll destroy you as Evil Eye!
Shu: No you won’t!
Drum: Ready? Set!
All: 3! 2! 1!
(Shu jumps high in the air)
Oribe: *Gasps*
Oribe/Shu: Go, Shoot!
(Shu does a Beyjitzu Southern Cross Shot, Oribe pulls off a Beyjitzu Launch)
Shu: Attack, Spriggan!
(Spriggan bounces off the stadium floor, Spriggan slams down on Overlord, Withering Doomsday activates)
Oribe: Grr!!
Valt: He stopped Withering Doomsday!
Shu: Superior Upper Shoot!!
(Spriggan hits Overlord with a powerful flurry of attacks, Overlord blocks all the attacks)
All: *Gasps*
Oribe: Weren’t you listening? Everything is free-spinning!
Shu: Put an end to this! Spriggan!!
(Shu’s Resonance Aura flares up Spriggan blazes out of the bey)
Oribe: I won’t let you! Overlord!!
(Oribe’s Resonance Aura flares up Overlord blazes out of the bey)
Shu: Superior Slash!!
Oribe: Withering Disaster!!
(Overlord and Spriggan slam into each other with full power, a huge explosion ouccers)
All: Ah!!
(Spriggan gets shot up in a purple beam and bursts)
Shu: *Gasps*
Drum: It’s Wither Overlord with a burst finish! The winner is Oribe Abiko!
All: *Gasps*
(Shu’s hair covers his eyes)
Oribe: My advice, go back to being Red Eye.
Me: Oh please, Red Eye’s gone forever and that’s that! If you have a problem with that then you’re talking to me!
(Oribe runs up to me and grabs my hands, we start pushing each other back)
Oribe: I’ll break Poseidon again!
Me: Like I’d let you!
(Oribe grabs onto my hand with force)
Me: *Grunts*
(Oribe pushes me aside and walks away)
Oribe: Weak.
Aiden: Are you ok?
Me: Yeah, but my hand hurts a lot!
Wakiya: Drum, get one of the medics!
Drum: On it!
Me (Thoughts): Why does it hurt so much?!
