guys, its summer. why are we still hosting events at this venue? paying $10 just to use the tables. why not do it at a park and use what would have been the entry fee to give it out as prize ?

Doing it at a park is ideal for the summer, but currently we are holding it at a venue for a few reasons.

1) we are working with the venue to build the community and the venue is gaging community interest in order to bring product instore.
2) at the venue we are granted an event and not be rained out, or otherwise players not showing up due to weather changes.
3) Both myself and a fellow Judge stream the event in an attempt to further increase community engagement. This has also gotten the interest of possible sponsorships. Having access to power and internet is a huge asset.

The venue also has provided prizing for participants, as well as a few of our members have brought forth prizing completely voluntary.
