Firstly, aplogies to all those who have continued to express an interest in attending but have not seen or heard much progress on the subject. I'm honestly still not completely sure who does and doesn't want to come so I'm starting an all new thread (things get quite confusing when you try to organize tourneys in older threads).

Please post whether you can or cannot come, I'll add you to a nice, new attendance list in the first post so everyone can see what's happening. I am assuming that we have 8 or more attendess but if not I'll deal with that in a day or so.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's all the current tourney info, originally created by theflightyellz (thanks!):

Cold Combat
Regents Park, London
Meeting Spot: The Boathouse Cafe
12:00pm - 3:30pm

Regents Park has been the location for the last few WBO tournaments, and we've found it to be a good location, yet we felt a change was in order. The previous location was difficult for a lot of people to find, and was poorly located which made access to food and toilet facilities difficult. The new location will be The Boathouse Cafe.

The attached map should help you to find the location:
http://www.royalparks.org.uk/parks/regents_park/

The Boathouse Cafe is marked as number 5, and is heavily sign posted throughout the park. It is also marked as number 5 on all maps within the park.

We'll me meeting outside the Boathouse Cafe at 12:00, and will move to an area of nearby grass at 1:00 to start the tournament. The tournament will most probably go on until around 3:30, yet it could go on for less, or possibly longer.

We will be around for a period of time after the tournament, but probably not for a lot longer since the park will be pretty much pitch black by 4:30/5:00.

We'd recommend traveling to the event from Baker Street station, as it's closest to the event.
  • The tournament style will be block round robin, since this worked well at the last event.

  • The main tournament will be MFB only, but free battles will allow plastic and HMS as usual.
Items we'd recommend for you to bring would include a hooded coat or jacket in case of rain, possibly an umbrella, and layers such as jumpers and scarves (as the weather will be taking a colder turn by the time of the tournament).

We'd also recommend that if you do intend to take part in the tournament, then bring your own beys.

This may sound like an obvious suggestion, but in the past people have come without, expecting to borrow other peoples.
This would not be a problem, but more than half the blades that have been lent out to people have either come back damaged from improper use, or not come back at all (as those who visited expo will know).
Obviously this has made people a lot more reluctant to lend out their own beys.

The entry fee will be the same as usual, free with a blader passport (£6 to buy), or £3 otherwise, and as usual there is no age restriction.

We hope you'll be interested in this tournament, and enjoy it as you have done with previous tournaments.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

That's pretty much all that needs to be said on the matter, if you have any queries, suggestions, or want travel advice, etc, feel free to PM me or post here. I'd say you could ask theflightyellz too but he's gonna be more busy lately so it's probably best not to disturb him at the moment.......he does know what he's doing though and would be able to answer questions if it was super urgent.

Really, really, really urge people to bring lots of layers, I've been in central London a lot lately and it is bloody freezing and will only continue to get colder, especially in the evenings.

Regarding lending out beyblades, I personally don't mind people borrowing mine but, for the aforementioned reasons, other people might not be so free with theirs so try to bring your own if you can.

@Beytempest: Lmao at Shivery Scuffle. Ouch at Cold War though....watch the political stuff, some people might take offense. It'd probably be best if you edited your post, just to be safe.

frozen explosion?
i know its not an alliteration but it rhymes

myself, Rocky, and ♥ are all in agreement that frozen explosion sounds kind of... Wrong
Actually it doesn't really make sense...
edit: first post updated with graphic
Well, I found how to change the event list. I took 'Cold Combat' since it seems to have gone the farthest, however we can modify anything very quickly.
Theres always blade blizzard but I think cold combat is a pretty cool name. Smile
I can actually come now as my trip was cancelled.
hopefully il be able to make it but im a bit sure if i could make it
Sorry I can't make it because I'm busy but I hope you guys have a good time. What with the snow we have been seeing lately, perhaps you will get some when the tournament is on.
Blitz you can come yay, now history will repeat itself with the nuckle thing at the last regents park event mwahahahahaaa.
The German trip right? Sucks you can't go but we'll try to make it up for you. Grin

Adding you both to the list. ^^
We got 8 people nowthe tournament is official.
yay
after somewhat an eternity.
Yeah i thought we was just gonna be one person short and then i would be in distrort.
Well, I think a number of the people with question marks will come, I was just being safe.
I might come. But I have no beys. .-.
♥ Will be selling some blades at the event, take a look at what he's got to offer here:
http://worldbeyblade.org/Thread-Updated-...d-Plastics
I'd recommend the Lightning L Drago, since it has enough attack to get you through most of the rounds even by fluke.
$20 is roughly £12
kk Thanks. I asked him to reserve it.
I wan't to come now D: Too late lol theres 2 days
I have no mfb either Uncertain
Bladez i'll lend you some unless your able to buy some MFB off 'heart' (sorry i couldn't be bothered to do the sign).
There is absolutely no reason people could not have bought Metal Fight Beyblades beforehand, while this tournament was still not set, if they knew it was going to happen someday for sure. Why must it be realized now, hm ...
I never really liked MFB, but this is going to be my firs tourney im going to participate in, so I want one for the sake of it.
Sam Thanks, i'll try buying some there too.
