Blade names

Hello!

My son and I are just getting into Beyblade. As we are delving into YouTube tutorials and such, I feel like I am missing something concerning the names of the blades. Watching videos rating different blades, we have some that are not mentioned at all, but some that look like ours are featured with different names. For instance, we bought one named Keel Shark, which I do not see mentioned in any resources, but Shark Edge is and it looks similar. Same with Helm Knight. Can someone explain the discrepancy please?

In all of beyblade, two companies distribute products. Takara Tomy, and Hasbro.
Beys have different names depending on what company released it.
For example,  Shark Edge is the name for the TT product. (Takara Tomy)
Keel shark is the Hasbro name.
Another thing to mention is that sometimes, TT add launchers or other goodies in their boosters, but that only occurs through hasbro in "Deluxe Sets"
For beys that are not released by Hasbro, they keep their TT name in the anime and manga.
I hope you found this useful.
you can also search up "Blade Japanese name" like searching "KeelShark Japanese Name" will get you SharkEdge!

As the other two have mentioned, Hasbro uses different names than Takera Tomy but everything else is practically the same. If you want to know, most bladers will use the original Takera Tomy names. Think of it like biology and how animals have scientific names. This works the same here

https://beyblade.fandom.com/wiki/List%20...20(Hasbro)

You can use this link and select a bey you own to see the original Takera name of it. It shouldn’t be that hard to learn both names since most learn it overtime.

Also do be careful of some bey videos on Youtube. A lot make clickbait thumbnails about the best combos. Some videos will mention good combos. Just use the WBO’s post on winning combos and search for the bey you want and see the combos people use
Awesome. That makes sense. Thanks for clarifying everyone.

I have noticed the sheer amount of options labeled “best combo” while hanging out on YouTube. Anti Wizard Wizard Club made one where he analyzes the winning combos off of WBO’s forum so I have been giving that the most credit.
yeah the winning combo section is always helpful! One of the reasons I use it is to test combos I've made again so what's currently doing good. I build Beyblades from the winning combo section and will battle them against something I'm practicing with or trying to see how good it will be. though this practicing method is usually best when you have almost every single Beyblade or just a whole ton of them
