IMPORTANT UPDATE

With the addition of Ranked Clauses, this ruleset may now be run as a ranked event through the use of the MFS RDF Ban clause. For this event, that and several other clauses will be in effect to ensure the play experience matches the same planned event format as before the rules update:

Ranked Clauses in effect:

Banlist Variation: Rubber Defense Flat Ban
  • The following Bottom may not be used in this tournament: RDF

First Stage Points:
  • First Stage Matches are played to 5 points for this Tournament.

Alternative Play Area & KO Definition:
For this tournament, Beyblades that bounce back into play after exiting the Play Area will still be considered Knocked Out in accordance with the following definitions:
Play Area
  • The Play Area is the area of stadium floor and space above it, bounded by stadium walls and exits (gaps in these walls through which Beyblades can pass into a pocket or out of the stadium entirely).
Launch Area
  • Beyblades must be launched inside the Launch Area
  • The Launch Area is the area of stadium floor bounded by the stadium walls and exits, or in the case of stadiums with shroud components the stadium floor directly below and bounded by the shroud’s top opening.
  • In stadiums with entry ramp structures which slope towards the central Play Area (such as the Beystadium Triple Battle Type), these are also considered Launch Areas.
Knocked-Out
  • A Beyblade is knocked-out when the majority of the Beyblade is outside of the Play Area.

Let’s goooo
All participants,

To ensure that everything is set up appropriately for this event to become a ranked one, I have updated the OP with the applicable clauses. Gameplay will pan out more or less exactly as it would have as originally planned before the rules update, but now it's spelled out in Very Official letters.

The main change vs weeks ago when this idea was floated is that the new Metal Face rules mean you can use duplicates there, a change which I imagine nobody is particularly sad about.

Thanks, and see you all tomorrow!
Tournament venue is updated, we're moving indoors due to the weather.
